  1. There is also one at the Museum in Dayton. I've got a pic somewhere of me at 11-12yrs old standing under it.
  2. I guess a hole in that model would be that they can't sell directly to the US. So technically they couldn't take deposits from the US market. Even if they were to allow you to use a Tenso address HG and BW could probably kick a dust storm up. Maybe proxy would be less obvious and because it's being sold to a JP company a work around??? Who knows.
  3. Ok, so catch me up. Is the only difference between the PF and standard finish the panel lining? I'm not seeing pictures with a pilot figure. Do both versions come with one? Do both not come with one? Does one and not the other come with one? So the PF is 38,280 yen because since it has to be shipped to a JP address you're on the hook for tax correct? Then if the shipping is still screwed up $75ish for DHL or $30ish for surface? Total with DHL $450ish? The PO through Amazon JP for the regular finish is $315ish shipped DHL? Thanks!
  4. Thank goodness for lack of display space.
  5. I'm not sugesting that it be run through Kickstarter. I used that name to convey a thought. They're only one step away from the Kickstarter business model (taking a depossit) now. Maybe it's what makes the difference for them? Maybe it's the difference between making money and going out of business. For example, they could find out real fast if there was enough interest to do a TV SDF-1. Maybe there is 10x the interest they think there is.
  6. Or they teased it and didn't get the level of interest they wanted.
  7. I use that sales model for some of the stuff that I do. You find out real quick if people are full of it or not. It's also allowed me to bring stuff to market that I wouldn't have taken the risk on. I can also bring stuff in at a lower cost using that model too. We PO pretty much everything anyway. I'm surprised a small player like Arcadia isn't using this model. It's the oppoiste of "build it and they will come".
  8. Shut up and take my money!!!
  9. IMO aside from a small group of die hard fans they're not desirable. Therefore not money makers. I'd wager that a few people at Arcadia know what Yamato produced vs what sold and they use that to make production decisions. That said I don't know why they don't do the "Kickstarter" thing and ask people to put their money where their mouth is. Something along the lines of "If we get XXXX number of $75 deposits we will produce a VF-XXX. If they don't get the deposits required they can simply refund them. If they do get the number they need they get to do a run of something that they wouldn't have.
  10. I saw that pop up in my auto search and got excited....... then noticed it was a model. I dig the chrome! Thanks for the heads up!
  11. Is that you that made those? I saw some prototypes once. Yes, I need some of those!
  12. This board really needs a "how to buy" tutorial. If I wasn't so bloody slammed I would write it.
  13. Check out Counterpart. It's really good. More brainy and less action. It makes you think about who you are and how you got that way.
  14. I would like a couple four sets of fixed pose hands. And some cavity fillers.
  15. Don't buy anything from here. They never shipped my stuff and by the time I realized it was too late for recourse through feeBay. Every time I message them.........crickets. https://www.ebay.com/usr/strikealpha247?_trksid=p2047675.l2559
  16. With COVID I'm not expecting to see this any time soon. From what I understand production is way, way, way down in Hollywood.
  17. I don't think I contacted AE to get my last order sent to Tenso. I just went into my profile, changed the address to Tenso and clicked ship.
  18. Get a Tenso address and have AE send them there. Then Tenso to you. Easy peasy. Since COVID my Tenso address has been getting a work out.
  19. I love the coloring! I always got along really well with Ducati and Suzuki Chassis. They have a bit of a loosey goosey feel to them that worked for me. I was lost on Yamaha's. I could never extract that last 2-3 tenths. Most of the Honda's were a joke for a race bike (great street bikes though). I rode for an endurance team with ZX-10's. I got along with them pretty well. Always ended back up on a suzie or a Duc though. The 1000cc bikes have gone insane. I can't beleive the power they make now stock. And all the gadgets are crazy too. I'd have to learn how to ride again with clutchless shifting and traction control. Unfortunately my motorcycle days are behind me. I miss it every single day. But I'll never be able to go as fast as I used to with the safety margin I need at this point in my life. And there is NOWAY I would ride on the street.......regularily. I rode a freinds Panigale with an Akro system and a hot tune in it this year on the street. Holy smokes. That think is WAY faster than full factory Superbikes were when I was racing. I turned the wheelie control off and it would hoist big fat power wheelies with no clutch at 120mph. Madness! So I did about 10 of those. Another reason I don't need to be on the street.
  20. I was extremely fortunate to have the connections, time, talent and money to have a good go of it. At one point I was one of the top privateers in the US and had offers to race internationally. It was never a career for me though. I got to do it for the fun and competition. My other favorite bike(s). 2005 Ducati 999R with a whole lot of RS Corse parts the Factory WSB team would supply me with. I should have kept one of these for my office. I won five championships across multiple series on these (I had two).
