It's a surely bet that when they [R]estart this line again, we're going to see another round of [R]efined VF-1's all over again to somehow [R]eintroduce the new line to the customers. Announce and show some prototypes of some obscure mechas that wasn't produced from the last line in events and whatnot, and during midway of the new line they will just set it aside the whole thing again. But hey, atleast new collectors get to buy some new batches of [R]efined VF-1's at MSRP. Win-win again for Bandai, right?

I don’t remember seeing any ‘official’ announcements made by Bandai when a toy line gets cancelled. They just stop and move to the next thing.

There's a Y27000 opened one in Mandarake. Unopened are Y30000. Amiami has a pre-owned one (Item:B+/Box:B) for Y29790. NNG has it new for Y29990.

That price quote is from NNG, correct? If I'm going to base the conversion today, it should be $287 instead of $295. That is, if I'm going to buy it in Yen and let the CC due the conversion later on. Though it would be nice if you can get it somewhere that offers, let's say Y27500 like Hobby Search price or Amiami's Y26900 then we can say that is a good deal. But then with the current shipping situation we're experiencing right now, we kind of got stuck on paying what's available or what's being offered. Deep inside, as collectors we are, we're always try to find a way to get things cheaper as possible, but if you think you're comfortable on what you're going to pay to secure one, then all we have to do is swallow it and think that it's somehow a good deal. This is the way... for now.

^ Thank you so much, @Seto Kaiba. I really appreciate this. I was just wondering if there's like an 'official' reason mentioned in some books or something. I do have some of the VF-1's master file book that was released a few years ago but since most of it in nihonggo and my knowledge of it are limited, I really couldn't pinpoint if there's a specific reasoning for it. I was just assuming that maybe when you get promoted to a leader or commander it becomes black like a mandatory thing in military. Hence why Roy and Max VF-1S sports a black canopy. That's why I was just curious as to why Hikaru still has the red canopy. Even though there were some areas (or as we call it 'probably it's an animation error') in the movie where it was shown with black canopy. Though the box image on the original Hi-Metal figure featured a black canopy. These images were posted by @Shawn in the DX thread.

No worries. We've been always like that. We always assume automatically that it's the preorder date or it's the price whenever we see 'numbers' in Japanese.

I know this might have been asked before or asked a lot. But it just brought back to my attention again thru the DX thread and Shawn's photo request of DX Hikaru sporting black heatshield. It's probably anime production error during the movie but was there any specific reason as to why Hiaru's the only one have a painted personal color heatshield whereas Roy's and Max's have black? Even though Max's VF-1A have blue skull heatshield. Thought it should be consistent like black when you get promoted to leader rank. Again, apologies if this has been asked before.

The black heatshield really looks nice on Hikaru's 1S. Was there any specific reason as to why he's the only one have a painted heatshield whereas Roy's and Max's have black? Thought it should be consistent when you get promoted to leader rank. Anyways, for those who's still looking for Roy's or late on trying to acquire them, I have a feeling that in the next week or so there will be some posts in the F/S thread from those who ordered multiples from various stores in case their orders is not going to be fulfilled.

No official announcement yet. They just showcased the 5 Delta units in the recent Tamashii event equipped with the Speaker/Projector Pods. We’re just speculating how Bandai is going to do it. A.) Re-release equipped with the new pod. B.) Re-release with additional pod. C.) Release the pod separately. D.) Release it bundled with the not-yet-produced Super Packs for Ozma’s and Chuck’s.

Yup, as F360 pointed out it’s on Dec 2. It wasn’t mentioned to the Tamashii site the time, but it’s safe to assume that it’s somewhere around 4pm (JST) like most preorder does. The date posted on the image is actually the date when they released more info about the item and preorder date.
