1. Question, Kin, where do Starscream's arms go when it's transformed to jet mode? Do they go behind the back like Takara's toy?
2. No, but If you could smack someone over the internet, your head would have been hurting by now 393040 Yeah, smack harder!
3. OverTechJunkie, do you have any more pics of the Mighty Orbots? The one you've got there is pretty cool. I used to watch that show every Saturday morning on ABC as well.
4. My fav super robot was Devastator! Hummm...excuse me.
5. Cyclone, thanks a bunch for the links. I have a Toshiba DVD player. Not sure it if can play PAL format. I bookmark both links for the future. Do you think a computer DVD player with Cyberlink PowerDVD is up for it? I have not installed the Cyberlink PowerDVD software that came with my DVD burner yet. Hey Twoducks, at least you've found a museum pic to share with us.
6. Congratulations on having such a nice, `huge' if I may add, collection, twoducks. Where did you get your Vehicle Voltron DVDs, Cyclone? I'm looking to get ones too.
7. I want to get two. Just preorder one for now. If the quality exceeds my expectation or the price comes down, I'll definitely get another one.
8. Well myk, you have Lisa in V1. Lisa is shapely. With the right make up and adornment, I bet she will give Princess Alura a run for her money. Lisa can also sing, which reminds me of Sara Nome, if the idea is not too far fetched. For t. lone wolf, multi-racial crew was not a turn-on for me during the time either. But it was not a turn-off. Now that we grow older and learn more, diversity is important. Anyway, I really don't care much about the crew except the little cars, planes, submarines, and tank that are ingeniously designed to fit together to form a robot with a head that resemble that of a samurai.
9. Now that the MPC Lion Voltron is here, I sense that the Vehicle Voltron is not far behind. People like the Lion Voltron for the beastiness of the lions, the shinyness of the legs, etc. I like the Vehicle Voltron because of the cars and planes, etc. Seeing the little ship stacked together to form the might robot ["loved by goods, feared by evils"] was such an amazing sight while in junior high. How many of you would like Toynami or WEP, or whoever has the right, to make the Vehicle Voltron to have its beasty bro stand next to it? (* Outa way you Mazda devil! *)
10. Thanks for the reviews to all those who had posted on this thread. They are very helpful. I happened to stop by Extreme Toys this afternoon. The MPC Lion Voltron looks really nice, enough for me to want one. It's very different seeing the toy up close in person than seeing its picture no matter how good or big the picture is.
11. Thanks for the info. If DVDs for all the Voltrons are coming, it's only a matter of time that we'll see the Vehicle Voltron toy available to the public again.
12. Damn, so I guess there's less anime magic than I thought... I'd be pretty pissed off if I was an arm... my bots smaller than yours... How did they choose which one everyone got anyhow? By the color of their clothes? 364579 I've always wondered about that. Was Sven originally the Black lion pilot? He wore black, Keith was red which would make him number 2 but if he were promoted to leader he'd take over the number 1 lion, Lance had a blue uniform so he should have been in the blue lion but he appears to have been promoted over Pidge who pilots the green and wears a green uniform. 364591 I don't believe the lion assignment was by clothes. Rather, it's the size of the pilot or may be their personality. Keith was the leader, so naturally he piloted the Black lion. Sven piloted the Blue lion. He got hurt, left the group, and Princess Alura filled his place. Hung [sp?], the big, lovable guy, got the Yellow lion. Lance, the smart ass, got the Red lion. He got mad once in a while, too, so Red was not a bad assignment. Pidge, the happy kid, got the Green lion. It's just happen he also wore green.
13. Very nice. Good job!
14. I've been a long time fan of the VF-2SS, having bought the 1:100 model kit since 1997 but never had time to build it. I saw the anime. It was only so-so. It was the badass-looking model kits that suggested me to watch it. If Yamato or Bandai makes the VF-2SS toy, I'd buy at least four. I'm sure there are some crazy folks out there who will buy a dozen or so for themselves. So, get to work Bandai! Did Kawamori disapprove the VF-2SS or the Mac 2 show? Would it help if a prospective manufacturer propose to put a "Kawamori Disapproved" stamp on the package? LOL!
15. That works. Thanks, buddy. My Mame was 0.78. All three have sounds. Just a note: the sound on Mac+ is barely audible even when my speaker volume is maxed out. I just had a blast with the SDF Macross. Those glaugs just love to team up on you, don't they? Thank goodness for the continue feature and the free quarters!
16. Which Macross game has sounds? Which version of Mame supports it, BTW? I know Macross II has sound. Either Macross I or Macross+ doesn't, the driver that is; I played them a couple of years ago.
17. I've got too many 1:60's to play with: 3 VF-1A Hiky's, 2 VF-1A Max's, 3 VF-1S Roy's, 1 VF-1J Super Hiky, 1 VF-1J Super Max, 1 VF-1J Super Millia, 1st ed. YF-21, 2nd ed. VF-11B.
18. Thanks, Sebastian. I'll come back to this thread when I get my first 1:48.
19. Seriously, if they packaged these things in Battloid mode they could easily be in boxes half the size. I think Yamato is in bed with the shipping companies of the world... 375026 No, if you study the Yamato history in the Macross Plus toy packaging, the default battroid mode did not expose the toy to transformation problem during QA. As result, a lot of people had difficulty transforming to Fighter mode. You get people breaking Tab-B in the YF-19, hip bar and shoulder plate in the VF-11B, and so on. They wised up with the VF-1 line, packing the toy in Fighter mode.
20. err...ya....hasegawa makes the normal battroid, TV strike battroid, and DYRL strike battroid models...and next month the VF-0S battroid comes out i'll be getting the model and not the toy. granted it's a nice toy...but i just want the proportions and detail to be perfect. the model is also 1/5 the price of the toy...so i can buy a battroid, a fighter, and custom make the gerwalk with money left for 2 more battroids to be customed to my own liking....and that's enough work and fun to last at least 1 year. with toys i find that the rush ends too fast. 371012 Thanks for the reminder of the Hasegawa battroid kit. It totally escaped my mind because I've been thinking about and looking for a completed battroid. Actually, I had worked on Macross model kits for several years. With family expansion and the need to keep everybody safe from the fume, I had to forgo this hobby.
21. Hah, some people get so conditioned to the over elongated crotch on the 1:48 that they perceive it as the ideal proportion. From the side this Yammy fighter mode looks just as good as the Hasegawa. However, it's the battroid look that attracts me since I always like the robot mode more than the other two. You can always go out to buy a good looking plane model, but can you readily buy a VF-1S battroid?
22. Looks too cool to pass on this one. I'll definite buy one. Thanks for the pics and notes, Graham. You're the best. Can anyone recommend a place to buy/preorder?
23. Enjoy your Christmas, all you MW geeks! I'll be back next year.
24. Interesting. Is Bandai doing that bad these days?
