  1. Actually i take that back. The redub of Evangelion made it to the national newspaper in Italy. Very small article but it was there. The thing is that it was so bad and so full of mistakes that it was impossible not to notice it. Anyway i think it's a good thing that fans can actually make companies like Netflix bring some changes when they are clearly, undeniably, wrong.

Episode 1 is a case of the English and Japanese titles being nearly identical. In Japanese, " 使徒、襲来 " (Shito Shurai, or "Apostle Attack"). In English, "Angel Attack".

Oh by all means, vent. This quirk of the original Japanese directorial decisions doesn't say anything at all about the quality or lack thereof of the Italian dub. I feel for you, sounds like you're having to suffer through hack job fansubs (and/or worse yet, fandubs) in an official product.

Well, thanks. :) the funny thing is that we already have a great version of Evangelion in Italy. It came out in the late 90s and it was dubbed very well and from my understanding the translation was very accurate to the original material. Netflix decided to redub the whole thing and made a big mess. I am just sorry for the new generations that will have to listen to this new translation. Luckily enough the first version is still widely available ind DVD.

Another funny moment is when the Evas go Berserk. Now it's called " Stato di furia", something like "State of fury" :(

To be honest, most of the Biblical references in Evangelion were just as badly translated in the original series, "angel" being a prime example...  Early fansubs I produced used "disciples," but "apostles" is definitely more appropriate.

Regardless, Italian adaptations have a particularly bad reputation when it comes to anime (and Transformers as well, as I recall).

You are not wrong. Saint Seiya is another good example of that. The thing is that we have some of the best voice actors ever. They are really awesome and would not trade them for anybody else. So the acting is always great but the translations are, most of the times, bad or, in the past, incorrect. Even now when most of the times they can have access to the original scripts they tend to be too much litteral  and therefore it makes it tough to fully enjoy the show.

  4. I agree. I did not enjoy Avatar as a movie, i think it was very predictable and derivative but the use of the 3D was really good.  I think James Cameron tends to do that. For example some special effects used in The Abyss were then perfected and used in even a better way in T2(which is definitely a better movie, or anyway more complex than the Abyss). I like to think that he now mastered the new technology and is ready to apply it to the sequels and that the upcoming movies will be better than the first one under every point of view.

  5. I did not know that. Very interesting. But since the title of the first episode is Angel Attack(if i remember correctly) and all the antagonists have angel's names i think it was a wrong choice. It really seems they used google translator to translate the entire series, and i am not referring only to this. Clearly i am aware you cannot know this and i understand you shouldn't really care. Just be patient with me, Netflix lately seems to be destroying all my favourite anime(Cowboy Bebop, Saint Seiya and Evangelion) so i feel the need to vent a bit with you all.

While I like the Terminator series, it never should have been a series.  The original Terminator was a perfect predestination time-loop.  People think it ends on as downer, Judgement Day is coming, but forget that the whole reason the time travel occurs is because SkyNet lost.  Timetravel was the last gamble to try and win, but also ensure that Skynet even existed.  I have always thought that SkyNet knew its origins so was always going to send a terminator back.  For Skynet sending back the terminator not only ensures its existance but gives it a chance to win by killing Sarah and unborn John Conner.  What Skynet didn't know was about Kyle Reese, which the last couple of films have screwed the pooch on.

Honestly, I am not looking forwards to this.  Genisys was a serious letdown and Salvation had potential but got screwed by bad writing and directing.

I totally agree with you. I would also add that it is interesting to see the alternate ending scene in the T2 Blu-ray. Somewhere i read that, in the beginning, Cameron thought of that scene as the real ending of the series. We would have come full circle but then it would have made it more difficult to make more movies.

    Ah ah very funny!

Now i love The Avengers, i love the MCU but i do have to say this. Black widow, you planning to go against Thanos with a 9 MM.??? Really??? It's like hunting a bear with a BB gun. It's just a detail but those seconds felt really stupid while i was watching the trailer. Especially with the new entry Capitan Marvel and her game changing super powers.

  8. I think it's more likely a R/E 100  Hygogg(great ms in my opinion) and a Kampfer 2.0 MG. If it will ever come out i think it's probably going to be toward the end of the year, if it won't then we will see each other in 10 years(2019 is the 20th anniversary of the first gundam in the pocket release. Bandai likes anniversary)

Thank you for pointing it out! And for 350 bucks, I will gladly pass

You are welcome. I need solid proof that they were able to fix that if they want my money. Otherwise it doesn't make any sense to buy this release and i will gladly stick to my Yamato.

    Ooppsss! My bad sir. :sorry:

Yeah, it's a new Metal Build-esgue figure made by a third party chinese company which I think they based the transformation from Bandai's MG Z Gundam ver.2 kit. And I'm pretty sure it's going to look awesome. :good:;)

Yeah, it does look really good. I actually just preordered one. I don't trust transforming my MG 2.0 so i guess i will keep this new release in wave rider mode.

I'm not sure what exactly your asking so I'm just going to answer the way I understand it. ;)

It's one of the main mobile suit featured in Z Gundam series back in '85. And also featured partly in ZZ Gundam in '86. It transforms into a Wave Rider form for atmospheric entry. Piloted by Kamille Bidan who pilots the Gundam MkII in the first part of the series.

Amuro piloted a white & purple (pink sometimes) motif Zeta in one of the Gundam Evolve CGI episodes that also showcase the other two Zetas - Red Snake and Grey Wolf.

Thanks but that's not what i meant. I know the Z Gundam series pretty well and own most of the MG that came out from Bandai. My question was more about the model in the video...is it from Bandai? What line is it? Is made of plastic, metal... Is there a release date? Any more pictures?
