The kairos looks great! I hope we will see a DX from bandai soon. It also reminds me of how much i l hated the multicolored VF-31 from the Delta squadron. I mean, i loved the general mecha design of the series but there were way too many colors on the main characters mechs. They really didn't look like war machines and that was some sort of a let down for me, especially after the Frontier mechs.

Well, those valks were like a dream coming true at that point of my life. It's just a joy looking at them so i see what you say. Also my vf-1j is in very good shape but she has been "covered" for years by the GBP armour. The best one is still Roy VF-1S; in all these years she hasn't aged a day!
-
They are still my favourites. Although i do have to say that they did yellow a lot in the last couple of years. Especially angel bird, max and hayao VF-1A DYRL....they are in pretty bad shape.I do understand that we are talking about toys that are pretty old, i think some of them are almost 15 years old so I can't really complain about that. I would like to buy them again but I am just worried that, even if they are MIB, they might have yellowed anyway.
-
Well, that would be really awesome! I think it would make a huge difference, especially on one of my favourite valks i am willing to spend a bit more in this case...any ideas about where to get one?
-
Wait, is that the Arbalest? If it is i'd love to get one. Quick question and i am sorry if am off topic. Are the pre-orders for metal build as crazy as the ones for Macross?
-
Very nice pictures! Where did you find the yellow sticker you applied on the gun of the strike parts?I do not remeber being inclued in the sticker sheet of the Yamato Vf-1 or the super/strike parts.

Bought this as a bday gift to myself
20160721_171231.jpgI love it! I used to watch that movie when i was a kid at least once a week! What can i say I love low budget sci-fi.
That statue seems to be done really well. Congratulations!

Great purchase! Definitely in my top 3 valks of all time.
-
God, they are speaker pods, aren't they? Usually this is where i draw the line...speaker pods/sound booster. No valks carring something like that will ever make it into my lair...
That's unfortunate though. I started to like Delta and its valks, especially the SV...well, it seems my wallet is saved for now.

In any case, i think that the quality of the stickers has improved a lot. The one in the OS are much better than the one in the 0D in my opinion. Or they just look better on the white plastic... But Arcadia, please, the 301 sticker on a white background??? That's really low.

The price seems really good and i am tempted to get another one so i can make a TV hikaru vf-1s with the spare super parts i have from my VF-1J...but i am not familiar with these websites and i prefer using this forum, ebay or well-known online shops. I know what to expect from them. Damn, i miss the 1/48s so much. Thank you for the advise though, spanner76.

Thank you for the tip, Dax. I actually found one few days after i posted my request.

Hello everybody,
I am looking for a Yamato VF-1S ROY FOKKER in 1/48 scale. Any release is fine, although one of the latest would be better. I would prefer a MIB item or in very good condtion.
I live in Italy so seller would have to ship internationally.
Thank you very much.

Excellent job on the panel lines. What did you use?
I panel lined plenty of gundam kits but i still don't have the guts to do it on a Macross toy...
-
the best shin getter 1 ever made
That looks really great! What company is it from?
-
Not judging, just surprised. I still love the 1/48 as well though i think the ver 2 1/60 is the better mold.
And i agree with you there. The problem that i have with the VF-1 V.2 is the lack of details compared to the 1/48. For the rest, they are great toys and i do love my collection of V.2. Anyhow this is the curse of Macross toys, right? Every new generation, one step forward two steps backward...i guess i got used to it.
Glad to know I'm not the only one who loves the 1/60 Yamato YF-19. Like you, I actually didn't like the stockier proportions of the Arcadia version's battroid mode, even if it IS more screen accurate. Besides, the Arcadia YF-19 looks a little short when standing next to the Yamato YF-21 in battroid mode, and there's really no telling if and when they'll ever get around to making a new YF-21. And to be honest, I'd rather have ankles that aren't all that articulated to ones that you risk loosening from dynamic poses, especially if the ball joints are so hard to access.
I agree with every word you say, GU-11. Although i would love to see a recolor of the Arcadia YF-19.
-
Well, clearly the engineering is way better in the arcadia version but there are few details i can't stand: the shallow panel lines, the colour, the chubby battroid mode make me hate it. Honestly I hate everything that arcadia did so far and i am among the ones who are still in love with their 1/48s so maybe i am not the more reliable collector. Anyhow i do own a Bandai VF-19 and i think it is among the best valk, actually toy, that i have.

I'm probably the only one here who still likes my 1/60 Yammie YF-19, flaws, inaccuracies and all. Yeah, it's an obsolete toy with an inaccurate fighter mode (mostly the neck and nose area), "floppy" chest, and the proportions in battroid mode aren't accurate either. But despite all that, when properly posed, the battroid mode still looks good to my eyes. GERWALK looks decent to me, too, if you pose it with the legs in a low and wide stance, and with body horizontal to the ground instead of angled down.
After seeing how sleek the newer Bandai and Arcadia -19's, the Yammie 1/60's fighter mode is basically left in the dust, though.
You are not alone! I love my 5 yamato YF-19. I personally hate the arcadia version although i have to admit that i was lucky i never had single issue with any of them. The bird of prey and the double nuts might have their problems but their color schemes still look great!

i think there are some screenshots(or it is a full animated cut scene, damn i can't remeber...) on the DYRL game on Saturn and Playstation with a Vf-1a wearing the armored parts. I remember that it looked pretty cool... you should be able to find something on youtube.
-
Wow the final result is really great! Congratulations! Would you be so kind to tell me what is the main ingredient of "Vanish"? I live in Italy and i doubt i will find that exact brand of soap. So i will have to look for something similar which has a similar composition. My max 1/48 vf-1a would be really grateful to you!

Well, advance Happy Birthday, Ryoma.
I'm not ruining your plan or anything. But open the box now so that if there's some problems with it, you can contact Anime-Export ASAP for their alloted grace period if ever there's some broken pieces, missing items, etc. And return or get refunded. Anyways, your choice, your decision.Thank you no3ljm! I am actually really tempted to do that...but, hey you actually gave me a good excuse to take a sneak peek at it

@rnurmin: yes, it was around 200 euro including ems, i know i got lucky this time but i really wanted this bird since i loved M+ since i was a kid and the 19 has always been one of my favourite valk(apart for the M7 variants).

I wish I could say the same for HLJ's service. Requested shipping over the weekend and only got a shipping notice a few hours ago.
They've been in business for nearly 20 years and they still have not mastered the art of putting stuff in a box and slapping on a shipping label in under 96 hours. It takes less time for the damn package to actually make the trip halfway around the world.
I am sorry to hear that. I know HLJ is weird. Sometimes i got like nextday shipping other i had to wait for a week or so. It is frustrating. But still i have been buying at HLJ since 2000 and i can tell more good things than bad.

So i got mine today. I bought it from anime export, my first buy from them. I ordered it on Thursday, got shipped on friday and i received it on wednesday. Very fast service i have to say, considering i live in Italy. Overall the service from anime export was really excellent, fast, clear and above all, for the first time in years i did not have to pay any import duties. I don't know why but that made me happy this morning. In the end i ended up paying everything around 200 €, slightly more expensive than what would have been if i could pre-order it but still not bad at all.
I promised myself this would have been a gift for my birthday, so although i opened the package i want to wait until July 2nd to open the box. Will i resist? God, it's gonna be a challenge!
Anyhow i wanted to post this also for letting all the other users know about my experience with animeexport. It was really good, so if i were in you i would check that website regularly, i have the feeling it is gonna pop up pretty often in the future, hopefully at a reasonable price.

The release stated on tamashii website is June 20th.
Thank you! That should work then!

I agree, but supporting to me means also defending, attacking, destroying, dog-fighting etc. things that we do see quite often during the series(well, at least the first part). Now i understand that the color scheme of the kairos would have been out of place for the tone of the show but a compromise between the "rainbow brite" color schemes and a more serious pattern would have worked much better for me(Look at Messer's unit: i think it's the most badass among the five and it's the one who had more appeal for most of the macross fans. And whoever tried to pre-order one would agree with me
).
