The shelf dropped one was mine... damn cat... Anyway, Shapeways just canceled my order for the part in black. They said that they couldn't make it in that material, so I reordered in the basic unpolished white. If I don't like them that rough, I may reorder in polished white.

It seems like a far less frequent issue then the YF-19 hinge issues. Mine broke due to my cat knocking it off a shelf, not because of wear during transformation. Aside from the very few I've seen in this thread, I've not heard of this happening.

Oh, Sweet godsend. My aluminium ones keep failing to fit properly, and I need to start from scratch each time I mess up.

Arcadia's official site for the 30th Anniversary VF-1J!

I did the same for the same reasons. And once I saw the sample toy, it doesn't look AS bad as the art. The colors are a bit more muted than the bright artwork shows. -
That would be AWESOME. Right now I'm trying to mill new ones out of aluminum (Something I am familiar with) but i'm doing it manually (no CNC for me) and with the tools I have and the original parts broken it's hard to get proper measurements and fit.

I'm having this same issue, but for differnt reasons. My cat knocked my VF-19f off the shelf and the landing snapped one of the hinges and cracked the other. I've been looking for a replacemnt option for a few weeks now. I may break down and try to cast new ones myself, but I'm not too confident in my skills there.

so I have a question on the yf-19 hinges. Would they also fit one of the VF-19's? My cat decided to do a gravity test on my VF-19f and the hinges were the only casualty, now I need a replacement.

I always love seeing progress on this. An in-scale monster is sorely missing from my model shelf so I hope I can afford one once you finish it.

EXO, have you ever though of making adapters like these that could connect to 1/4" round rod? I like to make my own stands that are a lot less noticable than the Yamato or bandai stands.

I really like this idea. I may steal it and make a few tweaks to the design to suit my tastes a little more. -
you're better off. Iphone are way overpriced and not as good as droids. Bett contact NY myself. I prepaid, but maybe they will refund the difference.

I know it's been said, but a YF-19 v2 would be nice.

it's probably just the lighting of the scene. if you look at all the pics, none look exactly the same. The first looks greenish, the second a much darker grey green and the third is kinda blueish. Since they were CG rendered, the background lighting has much more of an effect on the color then on standard painted cell animation so it's more likely a fluke than an intentional color variant.

Want to upgrade the detail level of 1/72 VF-25?
Busted VF1A replied to newca's topic in The Workshop!
I got mine as well. Will be working with them tonight. The part quality is great, but I'm concerned that they shipped mine to me in a plain old letter envelope with no support or protection from being bent. I got lucky and the're fine, but one sloppy mail carrier could have easily ruined those nice photo etched parts. -
Bandai 1/72 Scale Macross Frontier Model Kit Thread Ver.3
Busted VF1A replied to azrael's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
The only real problem I'm seeing is the shoulders. The pads are too small and the spacing is way to far out from the body. They should be much closer to the chest. The rest looks acceptable, maybe a little to narrow on the mid section... -
Hi guys, I'm doing a custom VF-25 for Klan but I'm having some difficulty finding one important element. Does anyone know of or have the official Pixie Squad insignia? Is there even an official one? The closest I've come up with is the logo that was on the Klan Custom Armored VF-25 from the latest MG issue, but I don't thinks it an official design. Can anyone help?

I think thats a pic of the kit they rapid prototyped using the actual 3D CG model used in the anime. And to the right, the standard bandai interpretation. -
