Mabey Graham will pop into this thread and quote his favorite line to give us hope that a VF-11 may come to pass?

I think they could have dressed them up a little more(like they did with the 19), but when you look at the how little space is available in that area to fit alot of mechanics, I can't really say it's a huge issue to me. It probably would look alot better by simply changing the intake color to a grey instead of white. The white just draws your eye way too much.

Not likely. The Hasegawa kit looks really good, but it's longer and thinner that the canon designs. Yamato tends to lean toward more accurate proportions. The hasegawa would also have alot of proportion problems if it was able to transform.

How in the world did you see that?? I had too look at the pic a good minute or so to find what you were talking about. If anyone else is like me and can't see it - there's a small crack in the dark plastic of the upper arm just under the shoulder cover.

I wonder how long it will be before we might see some more CAD images? Mabey sombody with some contacts at Yamato might be willing to ask if they'll allow us to see a bit more?

I'm more of a modeler than a toy collector, so it doesn't bother me if there are things I might need to "fix" with the first release. So far I've only had luck with my purchases from yamato (as far as breakage goes) And I fixed all the minor issues with my other valks already. So first release for me.

I need to read all the posts before I open my yap. Graham already put the nix on this list. But now I'm curious as to what might be comming that's not on that list.

I'm with the rest of you, this list smells a little like a cow field. IT's waaaaaaay to perfect to be true. Besides, it lists several valks that Graham openly says Yamato will probably never make. And Graham has never given many direct answers about unannounced possible upcoming valks in my experience. I call Bulls--t

They should just snap on. On the shoulders there are square holes where you push in the pegs on the shoulder armor. Mine took a liitle bit of force to go in the first time, but don't over do it, it shouldn't take that much pressure to go in.

Considering Graham's usuall comment, Yamatos previous 1/72 YF-21, the current 1/60 YF-19.... I have little doubt that they will release a 1/60 YF-21. BUT WHEN?????????

ugh, this "QC" term is driving me nuts. Every time I read a post that quotes Yamato's "QC" issues I cringe, and usually just let it go. But I think I need to say something, even if it doesn't help. When people quote the Yamato "QC" issues we all know what it's referring to. My issue is that 90% of the problems are not QC problems, but design flaws and I think a general misunderstanding is propegating this term. QC stans for Quality Control, a process used during production to ensure that what's being produced on the assembly line matches the product design. a QC issue would be: two left arms on a valk magnets put in backwards causing fast packs to repel instead of attract screws tightened too much causing stress marks too little glue used to hold a part in place These are all things not in the design, but result from someone not doing their job right on the production line. As far as QC goes, Yamato has been pretty good. The Design Flaws are what are common to all valks and what most have complaints about, but we keep calling them "QC" problems. Design Flaws: YF-19 shoulder gap YF-19 neck hinge fitting improperly causing it to stress/ break VF-0 Shoulder cracking because the material was too weak YF-19 gun pod mis-aligned YF-19 wheels not extending all the way out These are things QC can't do anything about, and require a designer to fix, usually new molds. Idealy Yamato will check what is produced from their final molds before they run however many valks from them, and redo the molds if a design flaw is found. But in the past they havn't been that careful and usually end up fixing a mold only for the second runs. Anyway, I've said all I want to on this. Back to the SV-51 I'm hopeful that Yamato has done a more thorough job of checking the final products for design flaws, but I won't be shocked if they turn up. It might be a product of them being unfamiliar with using CAD to design molds. The first Valk they designed in CAD was the yf-19, wich had the most flaws by far, and this is the first truely new valk the've produced since. Hopefull they put what they learned from the 19 into the SV-51 to keep the issues to a minimum. But who knows. I have mine on preorder still, and I don't think I'll cancel it.

The release date is in late July. The seller probably lists August because they have to wait for the SV-51 to be shipped to them, then they have to ship to whoever buys it. So it's a longer turn around time.
