You're probably right. It's just the MPC looks really small and that 1/55 pilot barey fits in that cockpit, i've always thought that imai and toynami were jerking us around with the scale. (but, i have no idea what a full scale Legioss would measure, just that...it's so damn small )

I dunno The alpha pilots and the VF-1 pilots are the exact same size. But the alpha itself is tiny compared to a MPC VF-1.

As with us all Just after you spend a bunch on you first valk, just try really hard not to go on ebay or the for sale section here, or you may be tempted to gouge yourself for more money (like i often do )

Thats to be expect with discussion of any upcoming series those first 34 pages where due to the excitement of first hearing the news. I would definately assume that whenever any news (no matter how little) comes out, MW will be one of the first places to see it. Still we probably have a least 4 or so months (just guessing) before it airs.

Welcome to the wonderful world of Macross World Pretty much it's a matter of what you're willing to pay for. A 1/60 is a fine to toy to start any collection, but the 1/48 line pretty much outclasses it in all areas. You can get a new 1/60 MISB for about $50, while it's pretty hard to find a 1/48 for less than $100. Personally, I wish I would've forgone the 1/60s and headed straight for the 1/48s. As for the color scheme, thats all up to you, if you really like the VF-1A Hikaru or Max rather than the Kakizaki, it won't be that much more. Heck, this is your first toy, you can treat yourself to your fav.

This is a tough one....so i went with all of them My first experience with Macross was from Mac+ when i was like 10. Oddly enough it was the fighter mode i liked more than Battroid. Until recently i haven't really like mecha, but now i'm hooked because of Macross. (a little from FMP) I still love fighter jets though.

Seems like everyone on Ebay is trying to sell these quickly while they're still worth a lot. I hardly used to see them, now there's at least half a dozen for each of the two.

Kinda defeats the purpose of making a Macross movie when the signature feature is missing. Why not just make a sci-fi Top Gun?

Eh, some people like dubs. (i don't, but it's a matter of preference) It's certainly not as good as the Cowboy Bebop dub, but some people really don't like subtitles. The main reason one shouldn't want the ADV release is because you can get the AnimEigo complete box set for the price of about 2 volumes of the ADV ones.

The new ADV releases are the only dubbed Macross release.

I really need a better job. Summer was when i was planning on buying a PS3 (MPC Max and Millia will have to suffice until then)

Seems to me the only movie project that would be the most plausible is a live action version of DYRL. However, there would need to be some major revisions to the story and pace. (to tell the whole story i'd say it'd be about 2h20min) And don't bet that any american studio would put and asian lead in a non martial arts or comedy movie. (so, say hello to rick hunter again)

What about the sub quality? I already know the lines, I just don't want to pay for a DVD with poorly done 'engrish' subs.

This would be one hell of a hard movie to make. If you want it looking good, pretty much the only way you could get enough money is through a major American studio. I doubt a Japanese studio would have the money to produce something that look real enough. Plus, I'm not betting on any anime-to live action movies being any good.

Does anyone know if there will be another season of FMP?

Just wondering, what's the quality of those Mac0 DVD boots on Ebay (perfect edition or whatever they call it)? I have the fansub of the series, which is pretty well done, but I'd like a DVD of it.

oddly enough the first macross toy in my possession was a Millia Q-Rau. I bought a 1/60 Max a month before but the seller screwed up shipping twice, so i din't get it until 2 weeks after the Rau. That was only 5 months ago, so my collection is still a little meager, supplimented with cheaper Toynami products.(i really need to get a 1/48 someday)

kinda related to my last question. Does anyone have some links to summaries of the canon games? (I don't have a modded PSOne or 2, you see)

it really shouldn't matter when the new series takes place at. If you think you have a good idea, at least you could start the planning stage (character stats, general timeline, etc) If the new series takes place at the same time, make yours a alternate universe story or modify it for a later date. if you start wring now, you might have upwards of 6 or so months until the new series starts.

I think there at least should be one thread on the subject. I'm sure many people have some good ideas, and at least some of them may be good writers. However, I think this one really needs at least some links to some good fan fics to justify it's existence. Could be a work in progress thread where we could help each other out.

I've got an idea. Unfortunatly for me (maybe fortunately for everyone else) i haven't actually gotten to write it yet because i really hate my own writing style. Planning is well on its way though. Lets say it's about the Megaroad-01, time travel, and not Hikaru, Misa, or Minmei (well, not really)

This one's probably gonna be bigger than Mac0. Just me guessing, but with something this big at such an early time, they may want to just keep a lot of secrecy. Heck, maybe they want to build up interest this way.
