  1. Mine's the YF-21, 1/60 scale. Even though it drives me crazy to transform it around, I'm still in awe of the entire design and colours, which are far more impressive than the BRIGHT M7 versions. Close, close second is my VF-1S Max. Black heat shield with the blue ace, b*tches!
  2. The VF-1A was never included in the EMS special sale. The only macross items included in the sale were the 2 VF22 [Max and Millia] and the big Macross figure. You had to buy one of them in order for your entire order to register for the 2000 yen shipping.
  3. My VF-11B shipped today as well. If I had more cash I'd also nab a GBP Armour or another VF1...
  4. My pardons for my ignorance, but the stock of VF-19 Fire I'm seeing on hlj and amiami is from the restock with the "updated" parts, stronger ankles and so on, or is that leftover stock from the first release?
  5. Not everybody buys macross [or any other toys] to make money. Sometimes you buy a figure you thought you'd like, you play around, you don't like it, you try to at least make up what you paid for it. Or sometimes emergencies come up and you need to come up with cash fast, and I personally found that selling toys is easier in that aspect than selling comics, video games and the likes. Macross toys don't hold up their value. At all. Bandai or Yamato alike. I got a macross frontier, VF-0S, SV-51 and a DX VF-25 at 20-55% off each of them, sold them about a year later and still didn't get what I paid for. Because either the general [macross] market has started prioritizing which figures to buy at which price, so not everybody buys everything on sight, or both companies criminally overproduce each figure. The VF-22 series [Max and Milia, especially] are always at 40-55% off at every japanese retail site I peek at. Up until six months ago, the SV-51s were at around 70% off. Most VF-1 V 2.0 are on 30-40% off every few months at hlj. Most of us that choose to wait it up or get into the game too late are greeted with those prices and sort of set a standard for what you're willing to pay. Couple that with the weak US economy\strong Yen rate and the fact that the vast majority of this board is situated in the US, you're faced with a hobby with artificially low prices. The only recent figures that have actually gained in value are the 1/60 VF-1J Max and Milia, the Elintseeker, the SV-51 Ivanov and maaaaybe the Super Ostrich. Everything else can be found for half the price if one is willing to wait.
  6. YF-21 from Yamato, 1/60 scale. Transforming it back to back after the SV-51 I have just cemented it. Too much time is spent on getting the damn legs angled and pushed in just right on that ridiculous hip joint, aligning the arms to the backplate [battroid > fighter here] only to have the belly plates not lock flush because you missed a mm somewhere and have to start over. Just gave up and hurled the entire thing back to the box.
  7. Really? Mine was somewhat compact, big yes but not enough space for any other 0S boxes in it. Pics?
  8. Any word on when the VF-0S and 0A are going to be re-issued? amiami states april for 0S and may for 0A, is that accurate? How about the shoulder pieces? Any word on improving those [or providing the ones that came in later issues of 0S with the fragile 0A]?
  9. I think they're talking about the shipping prices, not retail. Easiest answer that comes to mind is that they bit more than they can chew with their -50% EMS and had to up the price in someway. Similar to how BBTS ups the prices of some items during their big sales so it's not really -X% they claim.
  10. Pictorial review of the figure. http://hima-toy.cocolog-nifty.com/blog/201...n_vf-27r-v.html Looks fantastic, extremely articulated and not a pain to transform. Don't have one in my arms yet, but it could be the new best macross fighter toy...
  11. Funny thing is, my YF-21 is solid when posed in either gerwalk or battroid. Only loose part is the damn thigh\hip swivel, the ankles are sturdy enough to hold its weight. My main problem with the mould [besides any loose parts] is that it's a bitch to put back into fighter without a leg or arm coming off. The only VF-22 I want is Max's, which ironically is the most similar to Guld's [same jet with minor differences, both a shade of blue...]
  12. Since most of the replies here are quite above pure GARBAGE in quality, humour and context, just check some of the replies in this thread instead.
  13. Wow, you guys ditch the new, more articulated, much more solid [as in I'm not afraid the backplate will snap off whilst installing fast packs] V2...because the head is sitting about a centimetre taller in battroid mode than it should be? Sad people...real sad people.
  14. Original versions of the following had problematic shoulders\shoulder hinges VF-0S VF-0A VF-0A ghost bundle --problem was fixed on VF-0S Ghost bundle and all subsequent VF-0S releases. Problem was on the actual shoulder socket itself. 1/60 V2.0 VF-1S Roy VF-1A Hikaru VF-1S Hikaru VF-1J Hikaru VF-1D And all versions of those that were released as bundles with fast packs [basically everything bar the VF-1D] has problematic shoulder hinges with faulty pins that caused cracks in the joint. The actual ball socketed shoulder is fine. All subsequent releases [from VF-1S Max and VF-1A TV max] and onwards have the problem fixed.
  15. Definitely agree, the colours on both VF-22S are very light, not enough saturation for my taste. Looks like my buyer's remorse for the YF-21 has completely faded away.
  16. My 1S Max is perfectly fine. Do you guys lock the swing bar securely on the indentations on the back plate? What I'm miffed about is the fact that with fast packs on, I have to push the feet inside [instead of clicking them outwards] otherwise the valkyrie will fall down when in battroid mode. To be honest, I had to do the same thing with VF-0S when the ghost was equipped.
  17. 1/60 v2.0 VF-1S Max version [quite iconic in my mind] and YF-21 make it for me. It's almost a tie between those two. The new VF-1x is a fantastic mould I certainly won't get tired of for a long, long time. It's almost a charm to pose without any fast packs attached. YF-21 has a smooth process of going from fighter to battroid, but the opposite is stupidly complex. I do wish the legs stood a tad better in battroid mode, as that would make posing a more fun process, but it's an awesome display piece.
  18. I think that's what he meant to say. Rule of the thumb for me is to always seek new shops. HLJ was good at first, then toy-wave came up with their cheaper prices...which were offset by their ridiculous shipping quotes and paypal fees, then overdrive with their generally cheaper prices and now amiami. Heck, I've just gotten MP Grimlock from amiami for 9700 yen shipped. I never buy Macross stuff from the boards, not that whoever sells them is dishonest, but more than often they have little regards to the pricing that is around them.
  19. First you people discuss about how it is similar to the VF-2SS-something backpack, now it has turned into a gundam-look alike?
  20. I think you're talking about sideways movement then [arm moving away from the body] instead of up and down position, if I've examined my VF-25 and read what you wrote correctly.
  21. I'll have to transform mine to double check, but I'm pretty sure the ball joint is at the end of that polygonal piece and you can move the entire arm without really interfering with the metal connectors next to the head.
  22. I don't get what you're talking about. The toy can move at the shoulders up and down just like the VF-1S and YF-21 I have.
  23. The only point of articulation I would have asked for is a swivel on the upper thighs and MAYBE a ball joint with a wider area of movement for the hips. Everything else has all the articulation it needs, try posing the base model without the super packs and you'll get the feel of it. It's even got waist articulation!
  24. Got my VF-25F with fast pack bundle the other day and...my opinion is mixed. The base valkyrie is generally, great. Robust and sturdy, fun if you completely ignore the gerwalk mode and don't mind how the inner neck joint just sits there based on friction and gravity alone. It LOOKS killer with the fast packs in battroid mode, but the damn things keep popping off no matter what I do. The side leg armour in particular pops off rather easily, and the hip armour is not the sturdiest of them. Attempting to transform it through its modes with the fast packs on will ruin your temper. Also, I'm not a fan on how you have to swap the two pieces near the wings for fast packs mode or normal fighter. I don't even want to think how it would handle with the armour pack instead of fast packs, or what nightmare owners of Michel's\Luca's machines went through.
