  1. It was nice to see how this comes apart and back together. I don't think I'd have as much issue with it as the reviewer did. He really looked awkward with it at parts. One question though, during transformation the foot also extends forward? Why would you want to do that step if it would seem that that would make the figure even more backheavy? He seemed to jump right over that step which I thought would be pretty important when he finally got to the summary where he said standing these is a problem. I was waiting for him to relate the two, but he never did.
  2. How about a good ol' high school yearbook pose?
  3. I...just..dont....have.....words....
  4. Wait, there was an anime? Did it use the Koei designs? Can anyone else comment on this?
  5. I can't wait to see all the battles and explosions because that's what this movie was entirely about.
  6. You missed my point. There's more going on than the spice = oil analogy. But by specifically mentioning that line in the article, I worry that they'll focus on that message with all subtlety of a sledgehammer like Hollywood is wont to do. Just like the message movie crapfest that is "The Day After Tomorrow", or the "Bush" parables that were forcibly inserted into "V for Vendetta". I'm probably overreacting, but when I read that line that was the first thought that came to mind.
  7. I'm conflicted. On the one hand, I really liked the Lynch film(even like to watch the Smithee cut occasionally), and the SciFi series hit on some aspects that the Lynch film really missed, but sadly didn't have the budget Lynch did. It was also over twice as long as the Lynch film too, which also has its plusses and minuses. So on one hand, it's been done. It wasn't done perfectly, but each time it was done in a way that entertained me. On the other hand, I don't know what's to be gained by doing this again? And on yet another hand, why the hell not? The producer from the mini-series is on board, that should be a good thing. So another interpretation of Dune with a budget and present day effects could be a good or maybe even better thing, right? But out of that article, the one line that concerns me is this: "The filmmakers consider its theme of finite ecological resources particularly timely." I hope they're not going into this with the intent of making a message movie.
  8. Great pics, but I have to ask, how stable are those standing poses? Will a light breeze make them fall over?
  9. On a semi-related note, HasbroToyShop.com has both of the regular deco movie BumbleBees in stock. I've been frustrated(I understand Little Timmy's pain ) that I never saw a normal 2007 Bee in stores, and fortunate for me, I found the stock at HTS totally by accident and for a normal price no less.
  10. Yeowch, my HD-DVDs didn't take that long, but they did take about 4 months, which was still pretty excessive; sent the offer in in August, got them in December.
  11. Surprisingly, my free blu-rays arrived today. I bought my PS3 at the end of January, so that's roughly 6 to 7 weeks from the time I sent in the order. Now why the hell did I pick Species? Yeesh....
  12. IIRC, the synopsis before we even saw the first episode was that the Decepticons wouldn't be around much, and that there'd be human foes, some "super". Given how they've introduced and portrayed the Decepticons as far stronger and powerful than the Autobots, I can see why we don't see them much. There wouldn't be much of a city/earth left, nor Autobots to fight. It's already been established in the Lugnut and Blitzwing episode that the Autobots want to leave Earth as soon as possible and are now in the process of slowly repairing their ship with Sari's key because they know the Decepticons know they're there and fear the carnage that'll ensue once they arrive. I looked at the upcoming episode names on wiki, and it sounds like we'll be seeing more Decepticon activity as we go along. Personally, I'm really happy with the series so far. Yes, it's geared towards kids, but unlike the AEC crapfest, I don't feel like it's a brutal assault on my intelligence. It's actually fun, and I'm really surprised there's an ongoing thought out story arc. I mean, they had actual art and an Airplane reference in this last episode. I can't help but love it for that.
  13. Not only did I think it was cool that there was actual art displayed in the recent Animated episode(inparticular my favorite Van Gogh "Starry Night"), but there was a *blatant* and obvious Airplane: The Movie reference! I had to do a double take, because I couldn't believe it! Awesome. An allspark post by MrBlud linked the exact Airplane reference:
  14. "Silly."
  15. Like I mentioned previously in the thread, low prices isn't a reason to buy from BBTS. If anything, they're normally a bit pricier than their competitors. If you want a wide selection domestically, fast shipping, and excellent customer service, then that's why'd you buy from them. Although I'm sure based on the last couple pages of this thread people here with the aforementioned pitchforks and torches in hand will continue to contest the customer service from them based on changing a *pre-order* price for a product to be released months and months from now, where absolutely no money changed hand, where they were notified with an apology in very short order that it was wrong, and which was ultimately based on a misleading vendor catalog from Toynami which also mislead other online stores into thinking the same thing. Really. This thread is becoming quite silly.
  16. Sorry to hear that. Are you able to pull the head off, and maybe apply some crazy glue or nail polish to the ball joint(letting it dry first of course) to stiffen it up? I don't know how much give's on the head though, so if it doesn't come off easy, I wouldn't force it.
  17. For starters there's this that's upcoming: http://www.bigbadtoystore.com/bbts/product...amp;mode=retail or you can find the previous die-cast version which is over $100. Check the other Voltron thread for details.
  18. I have one, and it is. You pretty much have to settle for the legs in a standing pose. It's a *good* standing pose, mind you. It's still better than the original Matchbox styled version, imo, but you can't do anything dynamic with the legs because the die-cast weight works against such poses.
  19. Everything I know about Romance of the Three Kingdoms I learned from playing Dynasty Warriors 2 through 5. Which probably makes me pretty uneducated on the subject. Although I thought 5 was the most "educational" of the bunch with the more coherent musou story modes and all the "encyclopedia" extras. Dian Wei was always my favorite. Him and his giant axe.
  20. Can definitely see why the CM can manage to stand on its own while the MH can't. But the paint difference between the two is huge. If the CM base color wasn't that light blue and was instead a blue-green like the MH, it'd look far better.
  21. Heh, so Toynami was the source of the $80 price tag, eh? Imagine that. I'll still buy one at the higher price, although not as enthusiastically. It'd probably be smarter to wait for the inevitable price drop, just like the Alphas.
  22. I decide to buy the CM, then the MH pics show up. I decide to buy the MH, then the Beagle pics show up. This isn't fair.
