I saw Frontier and I am a fan but I liked the design long before watching the show. What shows I like and dislike have no barring on my opinion of the mecha design. but since you can't change someones personal tastes (as poor as they are) there's really no point in continuing this discussion is there.

I see no George Lucas so it will probably be better than episodes 1-3.

macII valks get no love because they look like ass. the VF-2SS is the least offensive of the lot and it's still sucks; it's a VF-1 with blind spots, goofy split toes, a stubby nose and a stepped on fighter mode. you actually think this mess is designed well? I'm truelly perplexed. I don't understand your obsession with "beefy." the SRW mechs look chunky and generic, that's about all. the Frontier VF's have great battroid modes. the slim look works well for a high performance machine, the idea of a big bulky robot like those SRW mechs or some of the bigger MS's from gundam being able to do what a valk does is just laughable. it doesn't and you are.

well since these are supposed to be raffle prizes, there's a 90-something% likelihood that they'll never release these again ever. so if you're not willing to buy from the secondary market on E-bay (or yahoo japan auctions) then I guess you're just F'd, Mmkay should of ordered these back in December.

maybe you just need to pay more attention ? I love the fact that designs have gotten more detailed with each successive Macross production; the detail is what makes them really come to life. I love the VF-1, when it's in the form of a Hasegawa model or a Yamato toy. in the actual show and movie the VF-1 looks clown like. because the VA-3 is the most AWESOME SH!T EVER!!!! and you will learn to respect it! sorry, the bulk isn't from steroids, it's just swelling form a vicious ugly stick beating. I hate every mech in MacII TBH. They look like they took DYRL?, screened it to a guy who REALLY sucks at designing mecha, and told him to draw the mechs he just saw from memory. as much as I dislike the designs of macross 7 I have to say that even if you include the fire-clown valk and the MAXL's meca-boobs; 7 still had orders of magnitude better valks and mecha that MacII.

what they should have done was either leave out alto or make him a secondary character, and make the show all about Michael and how much of a pimp he is.

at least it actually HAD a pilot...

it's the DX, it's officially "1/60" scale because it says so on the box. although it looks small and has about a 1/72-1/100 blob for a pilot.

I've been looking for that pic for a week now, thanks. the rule is that exotic+Boeing=fail; now Lockheed can pull of exotic. anyways, I dislike both JSF designs, but I actually think the production version of the X-32 would have looked cool (better than the F-35 anyways). the conventional tails, and the intake slanted back rather tan forward helps a lot.

I don't think the face sculpt looks too bad (honestly it looks like how her face looked in the show), I'll wait till it's in my possesion until I pass final judgment though. speaking of which overdrive sent a shipping notification email so it should be here soon. I think I'll try my hand at a photo review once I have it (expect lots of PVC boobies )
