While I don't see any visual similarities at all between the VF-2SS and the VF-25, there in universe concept are actually very similar. In both cases, The valks themselves are very lightly armed and rely entirely on modular FAST pack type systems for armament. also the automated attack bits of the VF-2SS operate in a similar fashion to the AIF-7S Ghosts, with both acting as unmanned cannon fodder craft slaved to a fighter. I don't know why either.

4,200 yen for a 1/48 Hasegawa kit sounds a little low to me. even more so considering it's a Macross kit. if this is accurate, very nice. although I wouldn't want to go and order now.

Whats Lying on your Workbench MKIII

the LC is impossible to find, and I ordered the Irvine custom from HLJ when it still had the early bird discount. I've actually found a way to get a little extra cash so I might still be able to get the Tama-nee and the Blade liger, but I'm going to pass on the VF100 armored Messiah. -
O__O I want them so much... I'll never be able to get one though. T_T I need to get a Sheryl.

It's odd that as much as people complain about it, HLJ is still one of the best sites I've ever bought from. I've ordered everything from valks, to play models, to plastic jet and car models, to Books and hobby supplies. I've gotten a lot of good deals shopping with them and have NEVER had a single problem with any part shopping with them. every transaction has gone smoothly and quickly; no slow processing, no lost shipment, everything arrives fast once shipped. I've hardly had reason to contact their customer support but on the few occasions I have they were very helpful and got back to me quickly. I have found they have better selection and stock than most other sites and I find navigating their site and finding items much easier than many other sites. more than anything though I like the fact that you can place an order and then modify or cancel it without any trouble, and they don't charge you until the item is ready to ship. I've had my fair share of bad experiences with online retailers, but none of those were with HLJ.

wow, very good explanation. I really want to ad some thoughts to it but I've been writing a history paper for the last 3 hours and my brains about to explode.

just looking at the animation, it looks like aside from the cockpit guns, there is 1 missile launcher on each shoulder (down from 2), but there appears to be missile ports on insides of the legs (belly of the fighter mode). It also looks like the the forearm mounted guns are still present. until we get some published stats, we don't know, but there's the possibility. -
Whats Lying on your Workbench MKIII

actually there's one right now on ebay... for $35 I'm considering getting a MkII and painting over that god awful bronze color. they're cheaper than the CP-22 stand alone and come with both the CP-22 and 23 also considering getting a kotobukiya blade liger although If I do I'll probebly have to cancel this oh the conundrum! -
yeah, the new photos look a lot better... and for future reference here's something I whipped up. Each shot was taken with a Sony Alpha-100 DSLR on a tripod at 10 megapixel resolution set to finest quality and with a f/5.6 aperture. the ISO 100 shot was a .8 second exposure; the ISO 1600 was 1/20 exposure.

I'm reminded of a camera angle I saw in a video once wait... also, you're photos dont have any of the EXIF data for you camera settings so I can't tell you for sure, but it looks like you need to change your ISO settings. you want you're ISO set lower as that reduces noise. an ISO of around 100 will have almost no noise, but is also less sensitive to light so it will require longer exposures for a given amount of light. don't set you're ISO above 400 if you can avoid it unless you want to have a lot of noise.

F**** YEAH! DIAMOND FORCE!!! :edit: I just noticed that you can just see the edge of the canopy in battroid mode from a certain angle right before the actual punch. -
by that logic they can't do the VF-11 because it was also in Mac7 (the only difference between 11B and 11C are the fastpacks). they also couldn't do the VF-1 or VF-0 since they were in MacF and Mac7

I'd hate to disagree but I disagree. while a kit may be cheaper when you start adding in all the incidental costs form all the supplies you need to finish the kit, it can end up being just as costly as a toy. Then there's the time put in to building it and how much that time is worth to you. And I wouldn't call them better designed either; designed with a different emphasis in mind would be more accurate. most models are designed to be as accurate as possible, and make major sacrifices to strength and playability as a result. A good toy can be safely posed and handled without any chance of breaking; even a great model kit can't say that. I personally buy toys for fun (I consider buying toys as collectors items/investments to be a waist of money). model kits look great but are a lot less fun than toys. you can't play with a model and building that model is usually more stressful/painful than fun.

Except that they can and have made the VF-19 (19A) under the game license and they could totally make the VF-17 and VF-22 if they wanted to UNDER THE VF-X AND VF-X2 LICENSES. Like I said, the next valk will be either VF-4 or the VF-17. maybe a VF-5000 but I hope not (5000 sucks. all about the 3000 and the VA-3)

Bandai 1/72 Scale Macross Frontier Model Kit Thread Ver.3

you mean these http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=29541 -
the statement about it being in the running to be a 1/60 toy is more recent so I'm hopping that's the case
-
how dare you disrespect the greatness of the VF-3000!?!?!?! a 1/60 VF-4 would be the best, but I'd take a VF-3000 and/or a VA-3 over a VF-17 or anything else for that matter.
-
and this is why I'm not a fan of Star Wars
-
No Mac7 and no MacF, probebly not MacII either. Graham said something to the effect that there were 3 valks being considered for being the next all new 1/60 VF after the VF-11 comes out. The VF-4 was one of them but graham was pulling for one of the other options. That most likely means the options are: 1. VF-4 2. VF-17 (under the VF-X/VF-X2 license) 3. ? ? ? 4. PROFIT! option 3 is likely to be either a VF-5000 or a VF-9. A the VF-17 would be sweet, but a VF-4 would be the coolest ever.

was it really 10 years prior, I could have sworn that they said in the show that the galaxy was launched something like 2 years before the frontier. (weren't they commissioned around the same time with the Galaxy being finished quicker?)
