  1. I want that Arcee, but it's $100 and I'm kind of poor right now. maybe I can scrape some cash together by April. Honestly that Leader-size blackout looks really rickety and awkward. I want it to be good because X-transbots are awesome for giving a massive middle finger to crazy devy but it's not looking all that hot right now.
  2. I think it's cool and all that they're making it, but that is one seriously janky looking model. It makes me really want to see what Yamato could do with the design.
  3. Oh man, I went to TRU today, and guess what I saw. The few Prime RID toys they had last week are gone but they got new First edition Toys Prime first edition Bumblebee ion blaster. it even has cross sells for the first wave prime toys that we're not getting... it's I've never felt so heavily mocked by a childs toy before.
  4. Not too sure what to tell you, although I can see Zaku being a lot less popular than the MG Rex. Also, buying that kind of stuff on ebay is pretty risky. Your window for making a claim through paypal/ebay if the guy ends up screwing you over will be long gone by the time the toy actually ships out and anyone has it in hand.
  5. 4 inch stands are plenty large enough, 6 inch stands give more elevation though. get a couple of each size so you can mix and mach legs, it makes for more dynamic poses.
  6. Are you running Ad block plus? I think what's happening is that ABP is preventing an in line ad from playing while hulu is preventing the video from playing until you finish the ad.
  7. well, got my email from BBTS... frakk. Haven’t decided if I'm going to cancel or not. I want the wheeljack and soundwave and I'm a little worried they may be just as hard to find in stores, but I really don't want that cliffjumper and I'm just completely ambivalent to any bumblebee at this point.
  8. I'm thinking it's probably going to go live for pre-order sometime in late February, or perhaps early to mid march. Also keep in mind that this is a ThreeA toy. Preorders are frequently a one day sale thing and they never reissue old products so if you don’t nab it when it goes up you’re only option will be secondary market. And with something this big and pricey, coupled with their new policies against scalpers (2 figures per customer/shipping address max, suspect orders will be canceled at their discretion), this will be crushingly expensive to pick up on eBay.
  9. any time they say that they hope to do something by a given month, it's usually about a month too optimistic. There hasn't been any news since last update, but they've been pretty busy the last month so I'm not all that surprised.
  10. I love that thing, it's so evil and sexy.
  11. imouto = younger sister. see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ore_no_Im%C5%8Dto_ga_Konna_ni_Kawaii_Wake_ga_Nai also, somehow I think this is related... to something...
  12. I'm unclear how you've come to the conclusion that they are in fact magical aliens. I don't recall them ever waving wands and shouting faux Latin at people or wearing frilly pink dresses with sparkly tiaras for weapons.
  13. Can I just say that I enjoy Macross 7 and think Basara is a pretty cool guy.
  14. I honestly don't buy the argument that the DotM toys where smaller and had fewer paint apps because of the mechtech weapons. if anything the toys got smaller because materials costs have gone up so much in the last few years. And as for them being lest complex it's because people hated how needlessly complicated and over engineered the RoTF toys where. None of that added complexity really added to possibility or screen accuracy, it was just there for the sake of adding more steps to the transformation.
  15. Armada was the worst thing to happen to Transformers ever. Never try to dispute that because you'll be wrong. The DotM toys where perfectly ok toys. All of the one's I've handled have been fun toys with some very interesting, intuitive engineering going on. Frankly, Mechtech has been one of the smartest concepts they've come up with in recent years, take the kid appeal gimmick feature that sells the toy to the target audience (little kids) and make it a self contained accessory that can be used on every toy in the line and in no way impacts the design and engineering of the figure itself. It's a wonderful concept and you know what, Mechtech weapons are fun as hell. I love movie toys and I don't blame them for anything. What I do hate and blame for this whole situation are asinine retailers with crap acquisition practices and utterly broken distribution systems. I also hate it when a company says f*ck it and gives up on a good product when there's an obvious demand for it and available distribution channels staring them in the face.
  16. Japanese TF prices are ridiculous in general, and the Prime figure pricing is particularly egregious. About the only thing that makes it even worth thinking about is that I'd rather give that money to Takara's hands than some a-hole scalper on eBay who wants even more. I think I'm done buying official Hasbro/Takara products in general; maybe I'll pick up a TFC Hercules instead out of spite. :edit: btw, I find that last line in the article about figures possibly showing up at discount stores like some late wave RTS figures have to be particularly disheartening. We've got multiple Koles and Ross stores all over this part of the bay area and I've NEVER seen a single toy from one of these lost waves show up at ANY of them.
  17. that is such frakking bullshit.
  18. Boy if that happens I'm about to cut sombody I swear to god...
  19. Speaking of evangelion clones, does anyone remember that show from I think the early or mid 2000's where it was basically Evangelion done as a light comedy? I liked that show. :edit: Finally remembered what it was: Dual! Parallel Trouble Adventure So yeah, it's basically Evangelion if evangelion was a harem comedy by the same dude who created Tenchi Muyo!
  20. I'm probably going to pick up RID Megatron because it's the first voyager Megatron we're getting. Having seen it in person I can say RID voyager prime looks awful. He's got undersized, hollow looking legs; zero red on the front of his torso and his forearms are clear blue plastic for no apparent reason. Also his mechtech weapon is smaller than the usual DotM voyager guns and it doesn't lock open, so it's basically a DotM deluxe mechtech gun with an LED light in it. So I did end up taking the BBTS preorders for the set of 4 deluxes and a single Voyager prime (I'm not paying $37 for a voyager, even bulkhead). I guess now I'm on the lookout for Soundwave, Wheeljack and Voyager Meg's :edit: By the way, Is anyone else annoyed that they changed the names of all the size classes AGAIN? Apparently they're "revealers", "Powerizers", and "Weaponizers" now.
  21. I don't fallow HG model kits at all. I really should because this is awesome. Now I need to buy this kit and mod it into a Princess Celestia gundam. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RQtGj_Kfqa0
  22. Funny thing, after a little more browsing I found that same figure I was asking about for even cheaper, $25 with free 2 day shipping (amazon prime free trial). they also had a Masane figure from the same company for 35 with free shipping so I went for both. The Reina Figure turned out pretty damn good all thing's considered. it's not the best finished figure I've seen but it looks good on the self and it was $25 dollars. the Masane figure looks good for the most part but the paint work on the face is crap (i.e. no lip color, no shading and her eye's are aweful.) I might try touching it up myself, and in any event it's not too noticeable on the self. Of course now I really want a better figure, and e2046.com has a pre-painted resin Masane (based of this figure: http://www.hlj.com/product/ORC60005 ) that looks really nice for about $160...
  23. I'm still not fallowing why that's an improvement. I mean, the logic behind a railgun is that it lets you throw projectiles at higher valocities which means greater acuracy, longer range and more kinetic energy on delivery. All this of course comes at the cost of the need for huge amounts of power available all at once, thereby requireing very powerful generators and large capasitors. You're reducing the size of your ammo but your negating that savings buy increasing the bulk of the weapon itself, and I fail to see how you're going to increase rates of fire when you have to charge a battery between each shot fired. I can see how this makes sense on a heavy gun like the main gun of the SAP pack, where you've got a massive backpack plugged directly into the airframe and you're shooting single shots at large, slow moveing targets. What I don't see is any way this is going to be advantageus as a short range, volume fire weapon (i.e. a gunpod) over using propelent based systems.
  24. son, I am disappoint...
