Lexx was a really weird show. I don't remember very much else about it but that.

So I accidentally found out where the center of balance on the VF-19's fighter mode is: -
What happened with HLJ was that they put up the pre-order with only partial allotment secured, and ended up getting so swamped with orders in the first minute of going live that they shut it down until they could confirm that they'd be getting more stock. This was on march first, the same day as every other retailer. then after a week of wailing and gnashing of teeth, the HLJ pre-order opened up again sometime between 1:00am and 1:30am PST, and remained open for about 3~4 hours. Then there was a final 15 minute window that night before closing for good. It's worth noting that the VF-171EX orders all happened on March 1st which was a Thursday, while the 25G when live on a Friday. IIRC, HLJ only operates Monday through Friday, while AmiAmi and hobby search are open Monday through Saturday. I'm thinking HLJ didn't want to put up a big pre-order like this right before closing up shop for the weekend, so they decided to wait until Monday. It could also be that they're waiting until they've wrangled all the stock they can from Bandai and it'll be a while till the pre-order happens, but personally I'll be watching them all afternoon tomorrow just in case (Monday in Japan officially starts at 6:00am PST.) :edit: Seriously, we shouldn't have to put this much thought into getting in a F*cking pre-order in for a god damn toy.

between what I've seen happen to other people and my own personal experience, I'm thoroughly convinced that Flexi display stands are just crap all around and I intend never to use them again. At some point I'm just going to get some cheap mini tripods and scrap acrylic blocks and make my own stands.

so your telling me you DON'T want to have a partially robotic body that will let you kill giant robots with a sword?

All Things Videogame Related: EXTREME VS!!
anime52k8 replied to Keith's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
the thing is, Half Life 2 episode 3 actually has to COME OUT before they can make half life 3. :edit: oh, I'm also excited for Crysis 3, although I'm probably the only person who still cares at this point.- 7014 replies

IIRC, the 1/60 Green VF-27 came with the same pilot as the brera version, only painted green. the Green VF-27 model kits pilot was a unique mold that was sufficiently busty enough to qualify as Grace.

we're talking about the YF-29. still no movement on the 25G.

I like how every time someone posts that it's back up, I don't see it until 10 minutes latter and they're sold out again.

The Unlicensed Third Party Transformers Thread
anime52k8 replied to slaginpit's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I remember it being said that a typical Yamato Valk run is around 5 thousand units first issue, with reissues being closer to 1~2 thousand. I figured the bigger third parties like TFC would be doing similar or somewhat smaller runs. :edit: after doing a bit more fact checking I can think of two instances where exact numbers have been given for the size of third party production runs. One was the Shadow Scythe repaint/retool of the protector armor from fans project which was considered a limited item and had a run of 600 pieces. The other Case was the MMC Knight Morpher Commander who's first production run was 2,000 pieces. (skip to about 10:45).- 9366 replies

I think I'd call it quits at about $225 personally. I want this 25G, but I'm more excited for the 171EX and I'm not paying more than $195 for it.

we don't get solid sales figures on any of these obviously, but it's probably ranges from under a hundred sets for more obscure add-ons to several thousand for the high profile stuff like Hercules or things from fans project. This is compared to a mainline run that will be in the high tens to even hundreds of thousands of figures.- 9366 replies

This is starting to look really cool. the design work on the enemies look much improved over the previous trailer; it's reassuring to see greater diversity amongst the guys you're going to chop into tiny pieces. the gameplay's looking more in depth and refined as well, and It's nice seeing elements from the original trailer showing up again (free control of your sword in certain situations, the cut-and-take mechanic, etc.) Overall very cool. :edit: I just want to reiterate that the cyborg mercenaries from this trailer look so much better than the ones from the VGA trailer last year and I'm also super happy to see the big, hulking thing from the original E3 make a comeback.

I'm thinking Nippon-Yasan is an absolutely last ditch option. I'm still shooting for HLJ with BBTS as an alternate.
-
but the first VF-171 orders went up on a Thursday. AmiAmi/hobbysearch put up their orders for the 25G at 5:00pm on a Friday, it's already the weekend in Japan. I'm pretty sure HLJ won't be updating until they come back on Monday (which translates to Saturday afternoon/evening if you're in the US).
-
Still nothing at HLJ, BBTS or any other reputable place that isn't hobby-search or AmiAmi. I'm thinking everybody's gone home for the weekend and will be throwing there stuff up come Monday. time for sleep...
-
I'm not actually panicing yet, the 171EX preorder started out just like this and that ended up having two wide open HLJ preorder windows within first two weeks.
-
I don't even think that's physically possible. There's no way it was actually open for anyone to order.
