Terminator 5/Terminator: Genisys, opening July 1, 2015
anime52k8 replied to areaseven's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
OT, but you've never seen The Abyss? If not you really should, it's Cameron's best film after Aliens. Also, check out True Lies. It's a much better Arnold film than T2 or T3.- 508 replies

Terminator 5/Terminator: Genisys, opening July 1, 2015
anime52k8 replied to areaseven's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Technically they didn't use the happy ending in T2. They happy ending got cut and replaced by a more open-ended one. http://youtu.be/-EarXngYYlw :edit: BTW, the late 2020's sure have some 90's ass looking fashion.- 508 replies

I think them not being clones and instead being conscripts better explains why they're all so bad at their jobs.

Medicom/Hot Toys and all 1/6 scale figures
anime52k8 replied to EXO's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Both companies can easily release the exact same figures and still sell tons of them for a vary simple reason: Star Wars collectors are stupid and will buy literally ANYTHING with the SW logo on it, IN MULTIPLE. -
it's not too terrible for a 1/6 scale figure with considerable accessories.

maybe it's just a slow moment for figures or something, but the coolest stuff seems to all be at the grey proto stage right now. Anyways, I really love the Asmodeas that Orchid Seed did and now there doing a second figure of her. And this time she's laying on a giant glass of ice cream and licking an ice cream pop shaped like a dick. AMAZING!

I've got no idea. I remember it's a 1/72 kit that was on display at a hobby show at a bandai booth. Bandai did a bunch of different ita decal sets for the 1/72 kits, no idea if or how this one was released, the gallery was in one of the VF-25 model news threads, but that;s the only pic I bothered to save.

Medicom/Hot Toys and all 1/6 scale figures
anime52k8 replied to EXO's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
clearly, the most important accessory you could possibly own for your 1/6th scale figures. http://www.amiami.com/top/detail/detail?gcode=FIGURE-009341 -
Because Macross toys are an addiction for which there are no support groups, only enablers.

man, what was going on with the lighting in that other picture. it looked like the entire bottom half of her face had just been obliterated with a chisel or something. I thought the proportions on the original release where fine. the problem was she had impossibly spherical tits and a completely dead, expressionless face.

Maybe the little head part is actually the entire robot, and it's just rolling around on a soccer ball.

I'm just going to assume that isn't a finished sculpt and that the final version isn't going to have such a fraked up face.

that third face is the most disturbing thing I've ever seen in my life, but I kind of want the tiny Häagen-Dazs accessory.

The explanation I've read goes as fallows. Criton based his descriptions on a book by Gregory S. Paul, who believed that Deinonychus was actually of the same genus as Velociraptor referring to it as Velociraptor antirrhopus. Further, fossils of an animal matching the size of the raptors in the book/movie where claimed buy Paul to be another species in the velociraptor genus. But later (1999) turned out to be a completely different genus Achillobator giganticus.

Aircraft Super Thread Mk.VII
anime52k8 replied to David Hingtgen's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the whole issue with the F-22's avionics the fact that it runs on antiquated late-1980's computer hardware and software. If so, why would a hypothetical F-23 in 2014 not suffer from a similar problem given that it was also developed in the 1980's and would have used similar computer tech? -

Macross Δ (Delta) - announcement thread

They were in space for most of the series and there was a lot of singing, sounds like a Space Opera to me.- 2715 replies

Exactly, I get that they're trying to establish a new big bad dinosaur for the film, but having Spinosaurus take out Rex like that was total BS. the whole scene was just Jack Horner spewing his "T-Rex was a scavenger" slander all over the film where it wasn't needed. They should have had a larger Female Rex show up at the end to frakk up the Spinosaurus during the boat scene.

Sure. Who wouldn't want that? If I had genetically engineered dinosaurs, the first thing I would want to do with them is have them trained to do stuff. :edit: Real life Velociraptors would make good bets, BTW. they were covered in feathers and only came up to your knees, you could totally domesticate one.
