  1. ^ ditto ta both (would love it @ that price and that quality). If the quality is anything like their huge 1/24 Ingram then it should be all good. I don't know whether to wait for a sale when it comes out or buy it before it's gone though. If the latest "hot" products from Bandai & Yamato are any indications, the odds are that it'll be sold out in a hurry (even during this recession). Anyway, I've passed on a few awesome toys in the past due to budget constraints but I'm willing to starve and sell blood for this one.
  2. Thanks, and wow... you're a bigger man than me. After 1/2 hour of trying to force the gunpod in between to 2 fat leg armors in fighter mode I gave up (I'm not gonna try it again either).
  3. Thanks. I could have done a more thorough review but the dang thing took a lot outta me. I manage to take the photos while I was transforming it and snapping together the armor parts.
  4. I got my DX Armored Ozma yesterday and spent a few hours playing with it. I'm happy! Below's my short review of the figure and armor pack: http://loopydetails.com/index.php?/Core-Ar...zma-review.html
  5. I'll take my entire toy collection over a BMW M6 any day. With that said, my tenant just traded in his Honda for an Audi (he got a good deal 'cause some dude needed to get rid of the Audi to pay off debt). I'm just happy driving my '06 Mazda around to the various toy stores to pick my various TF's and Macross toys. My next door neighbor just sold his old boat and bought a much larger one with money to spare (82G's vs 80 G's). The larger boat costs a lot more than his old boat, but he was able to park the old one in the back yard; the new one needs to be docked. The previous owner of the new boat couldn't afford the maintenance. The kicker is that he threw in a year of docking fees in with the sale. I guess if you have money to spare now, the world is your oyster.
  6. Thanks Yeah, I'm hoping Yamato can release some new valks (new molds) with their latest innovations added. If I had the money to spare I wouldn't mind if they revamp their previous valks too. This latest VF-11B's actually more fun to play/durable than some of my mass-produced Transformers.
  7. I finally got mine (from Angolz); they're fast, just 4 days with regular registered mail. Anyway... I guess the party's long over now (everyone's gone home, had their hangovers, and are back to work already). Below's a link to my review of it just in case anyone's interested in reading: http://loopydetails.com/index.php?/Core-Ar...ack-review.html
  8. Whoa, I didn't know you're into sexy dolls also. Well, you're cool in my books now . I only have a Canon DS126071 EOS Digital Rebel XT 8, but it does the job (coincidentally, I took the photo below with my low-end FujiFilm camera).
  9. Man, it's difficult to read this "review". Are you foreign (meaning just moved to the States)? And "my Waifu, Lady Shao"... does that imply that she's your "wife"? I'm really confused here. Well... if the poster is a lady then I'd suggest going easy on her. I mean, you don't get many ladies/girls/chicks posting on a guy's toy forum so we shouldn't do anything to chase them away. Anyways, can't wait till the 1/60 VF-1's that I want go on sale so I can do a review one day too.
  10. Yeah, Angolz & Overdrive seem to be the only decent priced retailers currently with stock. HLJ has them backordered. I just ordered one from Angolz for $180 + $30 (shipped to Canada). I think OD charges $188 and they only ship EMS. Below's the link to Angolz's VF-11B: http://www.angolz.com/home/productDetails....22&catId=32 When it was first released, a good price would be around $160; for me though, the $CDN had gone up 12-15% since then so it's actually cheaper for me to buy now. I was going to wait to see if the $CDN will go up even more but I was afraid all the VF-11B's will be gone soon.
  11. You might need to look for reasons other than the suspected fuel mishap. VW's are notorious for their lack of quality and durability (although they have been getting better recently). I used to have relatives and friends that own VW's and they had nothing but problems; they've sworn never to own one gain. It's too bad though, the new models are pretty good (and cool to look at).
  12. Old thread but... you know I've posted about the fact that in my area that someone(s) is returning old Transformers in exchange for new ones (in the new packaging), well there's a sighting today at a local Wal-Mart that some bastard returned a deluxe ROTF Rampage inside a Voyager Mixmaster box. The recession is no excuse to rip stores off... what if some unsuspecting mom bought that for her kid?!? If they can't afford the toy then just do without it (or do without something else and save-up for it). May that idiot rot in cheapskate hell for all eternity!!! Sorry for ranting.
  13. There's a contractor that custom makes glass cabinets and enclosures for shops in my city. Almost all the toy stores I frequent recommended the place because it's fast and very cheap (like $700 for a huge 4' wide x 6' high x 18" deep cabinet). Cabinets made of pure glass and the metal clips (shown in images earlier in the post) are even cheaper. They'll even come and assemble the stuff right at your home/store. I would definitely recommend looking around your local metro areas for class display makers, they'll probably do a way better job than you can yourself for a way cheaper price. The only reason I personally made some of my diorama displays is that they're way too big to use glass (my 2nd store display room might not handle the weight). Just the plexi-glass material alone cost me over a grand.
  14. I'm not sure when it's coming out (or the price) but if it's less than $150 then I'll be very interested.
  15. I think the best way to save on shipping is to directly contact them and put in a request. I tried buying separately but they combined them anyway, so I had to immediately email back to them. The still combined them in the end but at least they did it as small-packed SAL instead of one large-packed EMS (which would have been very costly). As for the blue/green version; after reading their description, I supposed that it may have been in the cartoon. But gang man.. it's one ugly motha!
  16. The diecast content is mostly on the lower half of the body (thighs and legs), it's probably less than 20% of the figure itself. As with most high end figures, the tires are rubber. The missile launcher is static, the missiles on the rack can't fit in it. HLJ reduced the price after I sent them email requesting that they send my Mugen and Defender separately. Instead they combined them as 2 small-packed SAL (saving shipping on both). The Defender came nicely packed in large bubble rap but the Mugen's box was slightly dented because it was just barely covered on all sides with the cardboard box box itself... to save $30 in total shipping, I'll take it. Below are Fewture's Mugen test shots along with some info: http://www.collectiondx.com/news_item/0318...n_mugen_calibur
  17. I just finished reviewing the Mugen; for those still on the fence about getting it, you can read it here: http://loopydetails.com/index.php?/Core-Ar...ion-review.html
  18. I thought you meant the Fewture version. The Mugen I got from HLJ sale doesn't come with the armor. It's a bit smaller than the original version; I put it next to my Roadbuster and it's about 1/4" shorter. The vehicle mode is a bit smaller also. It's got a good amount of diecast but not nearly as much as their Patlabor Ingrams. The toy's got an incredible amount of articulation, but because none of the flushed joints provide enough range like ball joints, poseability isn't as good as it could be.
  19. They don't look like they're made to have armor on them (way too shapely). I'm assuming that they're in scale with Mugen Caliburs from other companies.
  20. I opened my Mugen yesterday. It's a lot like a repolished old school Calibur can a 21st century revamp. I'll do a review on it soon. I paid less than $80 US (shipped) for it cause HLJ sent it as combined SAL (even cheaper than separated SAL), and it was well worth it. It's got a color combination of the original's plus the armor's gray. The good thing about being old school is that it's very flush and solid. Your not missing anything without the armor, it's one of the least inspiring combat armor I've seen from any toy (even my Animated Samurai Prowl looks better). But if you want something more up-to-date with today's designs/styles; you may want to wait for Fewture's Mugen Calibur instead... I don't know how much that's gonna cost though. Below's a link to prototype photos: http://www.collectiondx.com/news_item/0318...n_mugen_calibur
  21. Yeah, I'd like to be feel at peace with people as much as I can... but I'm ashamed to say that I do want O.J. to die from massive rapage.
  22. A bit off topic but thinking about all the celebrities that have passed away and how one was mired by allegations of pedophilia, one with drug abuse, and one with financial ineptitude. Yet look at what they have accomplished in their lives. I make no excuses for people's faults but we all have them. Sometimes I look at what I've done in my life and it pales in comparison. It's kinda strange but I've never been they guy to judge others, either I hate them or I don't... that's it. I'm more interested in who I am and what I can do with my life. I know it's cool to criticize/compare ourselves to others but I guess I'm more critical about myself. I know many of us can look ourselves in the mirror and be proud that we've lived a good and honest life... but I want more than that dammit! I want excitement, romance, giant robots & alien spacecrafts!!! I guess what I'm saying is, I'm envious of some people who although their lives may have faults; they lived in their brief moments what some of us can't in many lifetimes.
  23. Thou art as benevolent as thou art understanding my friend. I have to admit that it is a terrible though about O.J.. In then end, life really isn't about heaven or hell... it's much much more than that (believe me... I've had a near death experience). At times I find myself alone, adrift in a sea of opinion, hypocrisy, and ignorance... it's cool to hear a voice of reason from time to time. It truly smooths the eternal rage within me.
  24. In life there are those who are truly evil and those who are mentally ill. I tend to think Micheal was the latter. He may well have done some very inexcusable things or he may have been taken advantage of. But in O.J.'s case; that mofo's gotta die and rot in hell soon! Either that or get rapped in jail for the rest of his miserable life! And same to you Phil Spector... loved the Wall of Sound BTW... but you still suck! Edit: Whoopee; now I can wax armor instead of swabbing decks.
  25. He may have long gone into the deep end but there will probably never be another artist that had such a profound impact on music. I'm personally saddened by the news because it was his music that got me into dancing and into pop (when I immigrated from China I was taught that rock'n roll was evil). In fact if it wasn't for him and the other great artists of the 80's & 90's I'd still be a snotty 4-eyed geek right now. R.I.P. Micheal... As for Farrah, she was a hottie but that was a little before my time... but R.I.P. none the less. And good-bye to you too Ed... good-bye.
