  1. actually, yeah,i sleep with my springfield armories XD-9MM under a pillow on the far side of my bed.it's at a perfect arm length's reach should a situation arrise.remove out of sight when you have honeys over for a sleep over though.a gun under their pillow tends not to sit right with them for some reason
  2. wow, nice joke machine jung.i love the way the paint turned out on it.i don't think i've ever seen a weathered joke machine kinda adds some seriousness to an other wise "joke" of a machine.
  3. well,mac7 has elements from plus,DYRL? & SDF.it's kinda like a big family reunion for macross.and,i agree with others opinoins of this series here,it's great after the 10th episode.kinda drags before then, but i'll have to say i'm quite addicted to seeing the next episode now.hmph, who'd of thunk it?
  4. i see no reason to make this "overly sensitive land" either.agent one's got it right, don't be a girlie-man.stop being offended by every little thing that comes across your field of vision.toughen up!!!!! build up a callous man,get leathery,do what you have to do,but stop being so offended by someone else.i'm not bothered by anyone's sig or statements made in some random thread here.i'm tough,i eat nails for breakfast,so bring on your politcally slanted sig!!!!!
  5. yeah, really the gun ban only succeeded in making prices on certain collected weapons go up for honest, law abiding collectors like myself.i'm looking at $1200 for a new,pre-ban ak-47 with all the features i want.i can get a used 1 for between $700-900.hopefully,this good news will help drop those prices in the not-to-distant future,so i can get 1 of these at a reasonable price.i have news for the government.criminals more often get their guns on the blackmarket instead of a gun shop.the new law wouldn't curb them getting them 1 bit.the ban was a laughably useless piece of legislation.another case of making it harder for the honest citizen to buy guns to defend themselves & enjoy as collectables.backwards-ass politicians.start punishing criminals, not the honest guy you dumb-dumbs
  6. ok,i'm most of the way through the first half of macross7 for the 1st time & i noticed a few things.i loved seeing millia's vf-1j back in action, that was a real treat, but when mylene & basara acted in the minmay tribute tv special, all the footage in the background was from DYRL?.i thought they weren't supposed to mesh together directly.kinda just co-exist w/o actually refering to one another.hmmm,tv 1j & quedlun-rau's & valk 1s's w/ movie style pilot suits & even mylene asking mom if she micronized for max.feels like they took the series & movie & threw them into a blender.is this a mistake on the producer's part? how much input did the "holly floating head" have in the run of this series?
  7. chowser, the ban basically outlawed certain aspects of assault weapons.i'll use my favorite example, the AK-47.you could still get these after the ban was in affect, but they didn't come w/ high-capasity mags, the pistol grip had to be swaped for a thumb-hole stock(which sucked for shooting),use a certain number of us made parts on the gun to make it legal(this was the only legal way to use a pistol grip on an AK,buy a us made 1) and lastly, the gun wasn't allowed to have a bayonet lug to fix a bayonet to the end of the rifle.the bayonet could still go on,but the locking lug was no longer there to lock it in.most of these post ban ak's were required(you) to use %20 us-made parts on the gun to be legal.this usually consisited of pistol grip,stock,fore-grip & us-made trigger assembly.nothing like having a neutered AK
  8. good news, good news guys.the assault weapon ban in the U.S. was up for renewal in congress this past monday morning & the news on the radio said that it was allowed to die on the floor without renewal.i have been told this by a friend of mine that's connected to gun dealers almost 6 months ago.how does this benefit us? now i can buy an AK-47 in it's original configuration & not pay $1200 for it.i like mine in 7.62mm w/ a pistol grip & normal stock & also have the lug for the bayonet on the front.not neutered by the ban w/ us parts, thumbhole stock & no bayonet lug & still have to pay alot of $ for 1 i'm not happy with.my friend said we should still give it a few months till you try to buy something,so the dealers see they're not gonna get those high prices & they start to come down.
  9. 15 security fixes for OS X? at least mac is actually fixing there's instead of letting glaring security breaches just go on unattended.and, yes the dual processor mac G5 running final cut pro is the absolute king of video editing.just check & you'll see how the movie "van helsing" was rendered on on of these "off the shelf machines" running "off the shelf" software.macs are so badass, the movie guys don't need anything special to do what they do,they just buy the same stuff we can get down at the local store
  10. eh,reguardless of what you guys say, windows OS & pc's require WAY to much maintenance & fixing & babying to get them to even kinda work o.k. since i've switched to a mac,it works 1st time, everytime & it works the way it's supposed to.no issues or problems what-so-ever for 4 years now.no drivers to download,no special software to get it to manage my music & photo libraries,it just does it.i'm sorry, but i'd just rather do LESS work when i use a computer.it's just smarter.i don't like to get headaches,so i stay away from the things that give them to me.i've yet to meet anyone who can show me how any pc or windows OS is even anywere close to the solid reliability, power & ultra-coolness of a mac.while your busy rebooting & fixing yours,i'm using mine.sorry, but i just call 'em like i see 'um.no evidence to the contrary yet.
  11. OS-X panther has a seemingly very effective built-in firewall & i choose to use safari(netscape) as my browser instead of IE.pop-up blocker is built in to safari & all you have to do is click it to turn it on & off,no extra software needed the other pc's in my house spend 90% of the time they're on doing antivirus & spyware updates & that is hardly affective enough to even keep up with all the spywares & viruses that invade your machine.i think i counted like 20 warnings from my antivirus & spyware software during 1 session on that pc alone.surf the net for a few minutes, attend to the warnings for 10 minutes, then surf for a few more, then attend to more warnings for 10 more.........windows OS's are just pathetically insecure..........junk
  12. this is my favorite antivirus/worm/bot protection.i find it to be virtually bulletproof.
  13. man, those are super nice dude.please put me down for 1 w/ a blue tinted visor & i'd like a set of the tv hands too.
  14. yeah,i wanna know too.she's definately a thong girl i think
  15. kanedaestes, shoot me a pm & i can get you in touch with my customizer.he can paint that '19 for you just the way you want it
  16. yeah,i agree with graham.alot of the guys i know have issues with the micro-missles staying mounted on their 1/48's fastpacks.
  17. thanks EXO for posting those pics of the other figures.now i'm clued in & set straight that pose she's in that you mentioned "retracting head ter ter" kinda reminds me of a pilot testing a flight suit functions before deployment.like, she's checking helmet seal integrity & making sure her finger mounted controls are sycronizing w/ her power armour, etc.so,i think a pilot would maybe stand in that position outside of a mech for those reasons.just a random thought i had when i saw her in that pose
  18. 1/60 VE-1 waiting for clearance on the tarmack
  19. hey,i like the max shelf too.this isn't geeky or nerdy,it just shows that you have some skill & taste in decorating.your using all the areas of the shelf to theme it towards the main focus of the display.it's very creative dude.subtlty always gets the best visual affect i think.
  20. maybe,it's the B-24 liberator that i'm thinking consolidated made? hmm,oh,well
  21. yeah radd, your pationate about your work.i'm a surgical tech & i'm just as fanatical about my work.george is doing his thing & the publics detour about the purpose & meaning behind these films is a non-issue to him.he's still pulling strong in his original direction.
  22. yeah, your right, there's money to be had,but i think he only used what he's made in the past to be able to make what he wants now.money is a non-issue man.every person here would make a dime on something they loved in a heartbeat.you would,i would, not many wouldn't.it just happened to work out really well for george.his love will fill the cash-coffers of the lucas family for the grandchildren's grandchildren to be able to enjoy.i admire a man that goes forward with his idea despite all criticizms.in the end, only your happiness matters.nay-sayers won't be with you when you die.we all do that on our own.i'd rather regret the things i did, than regret the things i DIDN"T do.a movie is a form of art.the creator is the artist.perception of the work will almost never be the same as the artists.all others will, enjoy, hate & wonder about it for who knows how long
  23. the top pic is of a torpedo/bomber.i can't for the life of me remember the designation or company responsible for her,but these guys decimated yamamoto's carriers at the battle of midway.they are absolutely huge in person.tv & pics never do 1 of these justice.it is a collossal plane to see in person.she's crewed by 3.1 pilot,1 ball turret gunner behind the canopy & 1 radio operator down in her belly.i think this is the bird pres.bush senior was shot down in too.bad thing about these is,if you crash, the pilot is the only guy w/ a chance to get out.the small hatch to the radio man almost always jams shut & the ball trurret guy has so much to undo & maneuver around,he'd never have enough time to get out,so that scratches going up by him to get out for the poor radio guy too i really like it asthetically though.big, tough girl (this is also the model of plane used in flight 19 from florida that got lost in the bermuda triangle)
  24. kingnor,i believe this consolidated b-25 had the ability to house 5 fifty caliber guns in the nose glass & 2 hard mounted to each side of the cockpit(only fire straight ahead) for a total of 9(not including turretts & rear gunner) if you were running w/ just guns.you have to take a few out if you wanna put a bombadier in there w/ his sighting equipment.this bird lives at my local airport in the summer & the airbird museum in florida in the winter,so i can see her pretty much anytime i want.this baby is special cause 1 of the original members of doolittle's raiders donated 1 of their special made low-level bomb sites made special for their mission to this bird.it's mounted in the nose & it's autographed by the surviving doolittle's raiders.this is an ultra-rare piece of equipment & was even classified for a long time.i'm a rabid fan of these fine vintage ladies too.i really wanna see a P-38 lightning in person too. i personally think the B-25 bomber looks like a cross between the B-24 liberator & the B-17 "fortress".the airframe shape resembles the boeing, but it's short more like the "liberator" the B-25 bombers were famous for their carrier launch for doolittle's raid on tokyo.i'm not sure how widely they were used in any other campagne
  25. and my other favorite heavy.jimmy doolittle called these" fat ladies" when he was training to launch them of a carrier
