  1. take a second look if you thought it was a late model tune port injected motor.the block is even hiding it's early 70's roots
  2. the room were the hamsters run on the wheel to make it go
  3. the panel on the dash covers a digital gauge set up
  4. those wheels are solid all over once you get up on them.they're not my taste at all,but you have to admit, they look phatty-bo-batty on this car.i can't get use to an old dude rocking 20+" rims on an impala.i gotta remember to ask him what made him choose those.check his custom threads w/ custom made impala rear view mirror
  5. this is a local car show buddy of mine's car.dude is in his 60's,but his chariot still rocks hard.definately the best example of a '64 impala i've ever seen in person
  6. dragonmaster lou, did you know we were selected for a panel before we did? if so,thanks for any & all help you gave us man.your cool-otakon-liason-guy.
  7. cool man,we get a panel again this year!!!! that's awsome.
  8. a friend of mine kinda got me interested in dubs.i always liked them, but i've seriously considered getting a mkII gti. i like the mk4 jetta too.i'm highly impressed w/ the 1.8T motor taken from the audi for the gti & jetta.but,if i get a mkII gti, that baby will be a G60.my friend had 1 before he converted it to a 1.8T & that thing was a screamer
  9. you know 'yellowlightman', i really wasn't into trucks much either until this 1.i've always liked the 60-66 chevy haulers cause of the big hood & cab shape & i've always had a soft spot for classic stepside beds, but everything just came together perfect on this 1 & i love the damn thing more & more as the years go on.it's bitchin' to drive,it handles great & it'll turn you white w/ fear when you step on 'er hard.it's so light,if i put a supercharger on it,the thing would be too hot for the street then.w/ my headwork & other mods,i'm gonna guess her at about 400hp.2 hours away from there's a good dino, but my 4:11-1 posi rear doesn't make for practical long distance drives.soon as i get a trailer,i'm gonna dino it & get some solid numbers.i was considering swapping to a 3:73-1 limited slip rear for easier cruising, but evrytime my 4:11-1 hooks up when i step on it,i can't bring myself to change it.i do wanna go w/ a bigger exhaust system & maybe some sidepipes too though.i also wanna swap my old points-style ignition to an HEI unit too.i think i'm loosing too much power through that old distributor.
  10. the place a were a simple man indulges his primal side w/ reckless abandon.
  11. the place were the hamsters run on the wheel to make it go
  12. hey shawn, does that 455 come w/ those ram air IV heads? i'm a HUGE 70-73 T/A & formula fan.my dream car would be a '73 T/A w/ the super-duty 455 & some old school honey-comb rollers on there.........F@CK YEAH
  13. here's her bio: 1964 chevy C-10 stepside pickup lowered 2 inches fuel tank removed from the cab & a fuel cell added under the bed all trim & badges removed polished aluminum bed floor 350 ci chevy block (early 70's cast) double hump heads w/ stage 2 port & polish, slightly larger valves pete jackson gear drive whining up front edelbrock intake & carb muncie 4 speed w/ hurst shifter custom bent to curl over my bench headers w/ flowmaster mufflers dumping out just behind the cab 10 bolt chevy rear end w/ 4.11:1 full posi guts. '67 camaro yellow all over w/ matched corvette rally wheels & police style centers & low profile beauty rings. clean, simple black vinyl seat & door inserts w/ the rest of the cab interior painted the same camaro yellow.the paint quality of the cab interior is just awsome.clean, simple & astetically(sp?) pleasing.3-gauge pod mounted on th dash just behind the hurst shifter & a very nicely restored original gauge pod on the dash. small,'85 buick steering wheel & a vintage sun tach mounted just behind. "she may not look like much, but she's got it were it counts kid,i've made alot of "special" modifications myself"
  14. add me to the list of car nuts in the 1st post of this thread.this is my nasty girl.
  15. thanks kanata67 for your input.i do believe it was primed first before painting.i wanna say my customizer used acrylic based paints w/ a clear polyurethane top coat.i'm not tottally sure, but i think that's his formula.the paint doesn't look TOO bad.it just makes it look weathered & like i went w/ a tanish-hasegawa style color instead of the original virgin white.another lesson i learned from this custom,is to be sure to hollow out the fastpacks on a custom resin piece before finishing it up.since i forgot to do this, they are very heavy in battroid mode & tend to wanna bow to the sides.the original caster filled up the voids w/ putty-filler for strength i guess.i'm not sure why some casters do this to their pieces.
  16. man, graham, even with the small things you don't like about this custom,it's absolutely beautifully detailed.the quality of the whole piece i think makes up for it's very few shortcomings.nice piece to add to your collection dude
  17. yes,the whole series was mostly "black ops".in this case most operates have a choice to carry whatever they want into combat.doesn't always have to be the same thing either, mission stats can warrant choosing another kind of weapon.in vietnam, our special forces carried AK-47's alot for their ruggedness & the ability to blend in with enemy fire to aid in causing confusion.
  18. yeah,it's most likely a robs head.rohby's heads pretty much don't need alot of sanding & the color is almost exact.any easy way to tell is he has those custom colored eyepieces cast seperate form the head too.dude,if you like i can refer you to my customizer & he'll paint, sand & assemble that head for you on your 1/48.he does awsome work & has very good prices.let me know my friend
  19. can post pics tommorrow when my digi-cam comes back from being borrowed
  20. a few years back i had a 1/55 VT-1 superostrich custom commisioned.i store it lovingly in a box out of any kind of light wrapped in an old cotton t-shirt to cushion it.i have 2 problems with it.1-the resin wings are suffering a terrible sag to them i heard this was kinda commom, but is there any permanent cure? 2nd problem-i originally had her painted in a bright white & theres a good bit of yellow "bleeding" from all the white areas now.what happened to make the paint do that? are these issues possibly caused from too much heat? i store it in a closet & although it ain't icy in there in the summer,i don't think it gets that hot.what do you guys think? expert help much appreciated!!!!
  21. actually, the package of jump rings i bought at the craft store came w/ a crap-load of these little suckers.anybody that wants a set,pm me & i'll drop a set in the mail to you.i'll hook you guys up for $1 shipped
  22. nice to see you back devin!!! can't wait to see your future projects
  23. here's what they look like on the gu-11 gunpod
  24. i went to the craft store the other day & found these.they are 6mm jump riings & they seem to work perfectly.i could not find them in black though.i actually like them better in the silver color
  25. craft & hobbie stores usually have these little knick-knacks in abundance.check there first.also, most fishing lures use small o-rings like this to attach the hooks to the body of the lure.the drawback to these is that they are a keyring-style ring.you have to fenagle the object on the ring till it reaches the middle & locks in.that might be too much force for delicate plastic parts
