    Q-Rau Review Now Up

Keep in mind there is a 20-30% markup in price for us to get these toys in the US. I keep seeing auctions for the Q-Rau beetween 80-95 dollars. I paid 115 shipped for mine. Of course there will be a markup for the US dealers to make some profit for the service of getting these toys to us. Plus, Yamato's target market is for Japanese fans. Who probably, like us, are in there late 20's or early 30's. The point is, Yamato's toys are for a very limited niche market. Domestic then abroad. Not many companies are going to be producing toys of 20 year old anime with such a limited market. For Yamato to keep producing Macross toys, the individual prices are going to be higher than different toys marketed to other fan bases. I feel that the price is completely justifiable in order for fans to get "high caliber"(My opinion) macross toys.

  3. and another from me.
  4. Heres a Familiar shot. I hate the stupid flash on my camera. OOP forgot pic
  5. Wow Version #3-Mikimoto Looks awsome and so does Blaine's Version #4 They both are on opposite ends of the spectrum. If I had to choose beetween one I think I would pick Dangaurd's. If both are made I may pick up both. What is the timeframe on production?
  6. Heres another one!

    Q-Rau

I'm sure they will be floating around for awhile. Nothing has been said about this bieng a limited release. I don't think we'll see 300 dollar Q-Raus on Ebay

    Q-Rau

Auctions on E-bay are already up for the Q-rau. The Box looks really good. I'm glad to see a yamato box with something other than a VF. Now when are the Regults coming out?
  10. Very Nice. Now only if Yamato will release some valks that look like those. Your pilots look great. I don't see how you guys get so much detail on such a small object.
  11. Well atleast they have it. I'm thinking about giving them a try becuase there is nothing out here in the sticks.
  12. Jin Roe - Wolf Brigade? I've been wanting to see this one. But I hat spending over 20 dollars for a movie I'll never see but once.

    1:48 TV hands recast

One set for me to please!
  14. A general concern. The box looks too DYRL-ish. Even though the Prometheus and Daedalas are present. I think the top should be Hickaru's 1J.
  15. Wow! with nobody buying them, I'm going to wait six months for the price to drop!
  16. One thing to keep in mind is that this is a Box for SDF macross. I would much rather see Hikaru's VF-1J rather than the DYRL strike or VF-1A.
  17. IMO the best 1/48 to have!
  18. I think it's a great idea. If the price is relatively cheap. How much money do you think were looking at? I can see spending 20-30$. By the way. The link is dead.
  19. Wow! That's something I want be buying.
  20. It's a Macross Toy and It's by Yamato. I'm sure I'll love it. I like the Idea of a cheaper toy. I don't know if I would spend more than 100 bucks for a M0 Toy in a larger scale. Which I'm sure is what it would cost. I also like the Idea of interchangable noses. Swapping parts doesn't bug me one bit.
  21. Grayson, Those twin CFs are beautiful! For the fastpacks I like to use Royal Blue by Tamiya X-3. This my be a little dark for some tastes. But I find it quite appealling.
  22. Heres the link!
  23. I lucked out and found a hobby store 25 minutes from my house that carrys tamiya. The best thing to do is pick up your local yellow pages, call and ask if they carry Tamiya. I have used an online retailer before. Buts it's hard picking out the right colors. I'll see if I can dig up the link.
  24. Thanks for the info Graham. I like the Idea of swappable nosecones. That'll definately had some value to the toy. The swappable parts don't bug me as much as others. Also, I think the lack of die-cast is a plus. That should help keep the cost down plus keep the paint job looking good. At first 1:100 seems like a let down, I'm thankful there is a M0 line coming out. Look at the plus side after shelling out all this money for 1/48s, Monster, and Q-rau Yamato is giving there customers what they want. A break on the Wallet. To everybody who's having/had kids congrats. I envy you guys! JawJaw did you say you had three on the way?
  25. It's still pretty cool no matter what scale. If it truly is 1:100 I'll pick one up if it's less than 50 bucks. But the pictures only show a prototype and the only other information we have is it's 1:100. I'm willing to bet the final scale will be a bit larger.
