    Nothing official comes to mind, however in our PBP RPG, it was active and quite large after SWI—even sponsoring some colonies. E.g.: Petite Cola Ad Colony #34 http://sdfyodogawa.mywebcommunity.org/Stats/Locations/PCAC34.php. TLDR-the-link version: "This colony was formed by colonists who wanted to have more control over their colony. They created the colony within the law, and signed a 50 year contract with Petite Cola for funding. In exchange for the money to start the colony, the colonist agree to broadcast Petite Cola ads to all travellers passing by. "

    I recommend Photoshop (albeit, it may or may not be easy for you to *get*). Nevertheless, any program that has layers and lets you adjust the blend mode of the layers to multiply. You can put additional layers underneath the line art, lay down the colour there, and you'll get your mock up.

    Yeah, that map provided by by Blackconvey above—if official—indicates that Reflex Point is between Lake Winnipeg and Lake Superior (not coloured on the map). More specifically, between Lake of the Woods (you know, the Northwest Angle) and Lake Nipigon (1st time I've come across that name, too ), deep in the Canadian Shield, approximately 50 km from the border. Given that those smaller lakes are fairly accurately drawn on that map, I'm tempted to say that it was a fairly deliberate choice to locate it there. Perhaps one reason is that that area is full of waterways, making travel by motorcycle and other ground vehicles almost impossible?

    Excellent work! This is very similar to the way that they did it on the set. Personally, I think they added the crane arm to provide extra support for the back of the diorama. They also have a set of square blocks with right-angled pipes providing additional support on either end of the wall.     Wouldn't a regular sized quote have been sufficient? The large/bold/highlighted text is a bit overkill, and doesn't make us look very friendly, you know. . . . As for the definition... not every version of English is the same, guys. Vagabond Elf, do you have a link to a Canadian dictionary with that particular definition? If not, I'm curious what the context is for that particular definition. (Work/company? School?)

    1976. To put that in perspective: the YF-16 had a fly-off against the YF-17 (just like Macross Plus*). The rejected YF-17 design was reworked into the F-18. * technically M+'s "Project Super Nova" is based on the YF-22/YF-23 fly-off, and the lesser known "Project Nova" was the flyoff between the VF-11 and VF-14 (arguable based on the YF-16/YF-17 fly-off).

    Just to clarify, for my US based MWers, the US legal costs are the world's most expensive. In other words, the US is probably going to be the last place that BW starts making legal moves to reacquire copyrights, etc., if it ever does.

    As the VF-1X++ appears only in MtR, it'd have to be the same as that one (albeit with different Super Parts, paint colours/markings, specs, etc.) Civilian or military: at that point in the timeline, the VF-1 is treated similarly to the P-51 Mustang is in the real world*. So, it's more than likely that it is a civilian owned Valkyrie. Was it a military one that has it's weapons removed? I think a fairer question is: when they sell Valkyries to civilians, do they remove the weapons at all? M7 implies otherwise. Anyhow, as it's described as a "VF-1X++", it would originally have had to be a military spec Valkyrie (otherwise it'd be a "VC-1C++" or something along those lines). * This is a "for ease of understanding" comparison. The in-universe reality is... different.

    That's assuming that everything that you can find on the internet was made in 2019, isn't it? Seto mentioned the Robotech Research site a few posts back. That's been around since the early 2000's. The pages on that site are essentially unchanged since they were first put on their server. I'm sure many of the other fan things that Jenius and others are referring to are 10 to 20 years old, too. That's the good and bad thing of the internet: some things tend to stay online forever. I'm by no means trying to defend Robotech fans here, but it's always good to keep the perspective that some of those fan creations were by people in their teens, and they've long since moved on (not necessarily to Macross, mind you, just to other interests). . . . As far as the "professionals" copying the work of others go... that's a major no-no.

    Before addressing the fire safety: please keep in mind that the guy used up to 40 L of gasoline—so much, that there was an explosion when he lit it, and he was so badly burned that he, himself, fell unconscious after fleeing the crime scene (which is a blessing in disguise, as he appeared to have prepared hammers and kitchen knives to attack people fleeing the building!!!) Fire safety situation: Japanese news is reporting that the building met the local fire safety regulations. Speaking as a Canadian, however, those standards are what I would consider subpar: no sprinklers! I don't know if the building had other emergency exits (e.g. escape ladders in lockers under the windows), but the impression I have is even if they had them, they would have been unusable due to the large size and intensity of the fire (it started with an explosion in a large pool of gasoline), as well as it's location. Sadly, the exit to the roof was locked. While it's easy to dismiss that as gross negligence, please keep in mind that roof access is restricted on many buildings in Japan due to the high suicide rate. So, as bizarre and counter-intuitive as it may seem, it may have been locked for insurance reasons. Correction: the door to the roof was not locked, it was just "hard to open". The article appears to have the wrong location: the fire occurred in the Kyoto, Fushimi Ward branch, not the Uji located head office. As for the perpetrator, the Japanese article says: "burns over his whole body. Fell unconscious after being 'secured'. It appears that he is neither an employee nor has never done work for the company in the past. He currently lives in Saitama." "He had 2 20 L gasoline cans, and had a rucksack and bag with several kitchen knives and hammers."

    OT: I haven't done any translations per se, but I've used the specs from those Dojinshi in some of my RPG stats. Currently it's limited to only some of the Zentrādi ships.     The short answer: both. They had to sell the rights to get it financed (regret)*, and just like most every other anime production companies, they aren't concerned with the Western market (it's not so much that they don't care, it's just that the overseas market is a whole bunch of added costs that their company size (and budget) can't justify. Nevertheless, it appears that the current system is kind of working: add English subs to the official domestic releases, and let 3rd parties ship those internationally. Perhaps if the overseas fans bought more of those (and I mean in volumes that effect the production cost per unit), then they'll definitely be concerned with the overseas market**. * This is just like James Cameron and the original Terminator. ** I humbly recommend putting yourself in their shoes. The domestic market is several orders of magnitude larger then the overseas market. For them, dividing it into "Asian" , "Western" and other markets is like dividing hairs...

    In short: they earn money by licensing SDFM to HG (who in turn licenses it to 3rd parties). They don't own domestic rights (in Japan), BW does. The international rights for DYRL are a mystery. While BW owns them domestically, no one really knows who owns what percentage internationally (if memory serves, there are more parties involved, such as the distributor, Toho).
