  1. This one? http://www.macrossf.com/image/information/products127_6.jpg That's #21.
  2. What are you using to connect to the internet? I, despite having a permanent hardware link, get a new IP address every time I log into my IP. Because of that, I have to relog in everytime I access MW. So, what I'm thinking is - are you using an IP that changes your IP number every so often, or a proxy that does the same?
  3. ? In #21? Nope. Though we do get the code names for all of the Full Armour VFs (except the VF-171EX, but does that really count as a full armour?!)
  4. Tried http://honyaku.nifty.com/ ?
  5. anime52k8 has a much more thought out, and much more logical arguement. I still disagree with the project, but I agree to not paint the project in as negative terms as I have been. As for the "it's the internet" arguement quoted herein - no it's not. The translator has asked that the translations not be used, as is. If it were your friend asking you the same thing, face to face, would you turn around and betray your friend?
  6. Just so everyone's on the same page, the following post of mine was meant as a joke. It's full of sarcasm, and ironic humour. Funny isn't it, in a not funny way, that those who are saying that I don't get the joke, are the ones who also, do not get the joke. They're also misreading who the targets of the individual sentences are. Or wait, I didn't include them? Could the same silly things hold true in their posts that started this mess? Sarcasm doesn't work in a message board (and yes, that's including adding emoticons). Humour and sarcasm also doesn't cross borders very well, either. Lastly, for the record, it's not that I cannot understand sarcasm, humour, or hyperbole for comedic effect. It's that a message board eliminates all the cues and clues and makes them impossible to differentiate from insults, bigotry, rascism, flaming, and "the sort of crap that BoK spews" (whatever that last one means). Peace, luv, and moving on.
  7. No lineart, and no rear views of it have been published (even in the Macross Chronicle article on it). I've made some screen captures of it, with as close to a rear view as we were shown in MF. http://www.macrossroleplay.org/Sketchley/S.../CheyenneII.htm
  8. Hmmm... alright. If I feel the motivation to do it, I'll get around to it. But, I'm more interested in a bunch of other stuff before then. See my to-do list here: http://www.macrossroleplay.org/Sketchley/p.../Chronicles.htm
  9. Also, I don't want my translations used in such a manner. Feel free to paraphrase the information for other purposes (such as stats write-ups a la Mr.March's website), but NOT wholesale copy and pasting into something that essentially amounts to ripping off the publication.
  10. Tried Macross Chronicle? Other than that, the MF Official Fan Book has the most lineart and the best presentation of stats for MF mecha. You'll only find bits and pieces in the other books. "Some" lineart/mecha art has shown up in Newtype, and in Hobby Japan. But... for mecha, especially MF mecha, Macross Chronicle is the only way to go.
  11. Yes, the VF-25G does have enhanced optics in the head. http://macross.anime.net/wiki/VF-25_Messiah Though, it doesn't take away from your arguement. The head unit/turret is only one, small component. It's most likely interchangeable between different VF-25. Expanding on your arguement - one of the concepts of Macross has always been mass production. In SDF:M, the Zentraedi are the ultimate expression of mass production. Perhaps, one could even go so far as to say that it was an allusion to the mechanization in Japanese society at the time (robots making cars, etc.) and the social costs of it (Zentraedi being emotionally stunted, etc.).
  12. Are you referring to the Movic books? If so, then no, there is little mechanical lineart in them. There are a few pieces, but that's mostly limited to one of the galaxy ships, and the lineart used to create the CG Vajra. The books ARE valuable for the character lineart. There are also a few pieces of background lineart, too.
  13. Since it was replied to by the yes man... Text based messaging doesn't convey tone. Sarcasm doesn't work. Lamely written hyperbole that depends entirely on the sarcastic voice, doesn't work. Not sure why threatening bodily harm is funny to you guys... quite a sad low. And here I was thinking that toilet humour was the lowest of the low.
  14. You'll have to recalibrate your hostility sensors. some - quantifier used dismisively nerd - derogatory noun (definition: Nerd is a term often bearing a derogatory connotation or stereotype, that refers to a person who passionately pursues intellectual activities) naive - not necessarily derogatory, but given the rest of the sentence, used to reinforce the disparaging tone (definition: marked by or showing unaffected simplicity and lack of guile or worldly experience) Conclusion: it's not any single word, but all of them taken together that makes it overly hostile, insulting, and frankly, unecessary, IF the question is genuine. Personally, if I were asking a genuine question, I wouldn't insult the person I'm asking the question to, especially if I want an honest answer. It doesn't matter the past relationship with the person, or the person(s) that I'm asking about. I'm with Exo on the drama. Though, I'd also like to add that I feel sympathy for Roger. His bitterness is understandable. Can someone pass the message along to him about trying to get the book published in a different country - one not tainted by HG?
  15. you know what? I'm more worried about the diseases that until now have been supressed by antibiotics. Once those diseases develop an aminity to our modern cures... flesh eating disease, I'm looking at you!
  16. I'll second this.
  17. Good luck. If it's anything like the other mechanic sheets in the publication, it's going to have a healthy dose of uncommon, tech geek words.
  18. タカチホフ (takachihofu) is how it's written in the article. I translated the data only on the front page. There is more (such as Gubaba's already mentioned gun pods are rail guns - gah! Palladium books was right all along on that!), so there *may* be more.
  19. I think after he walked away from Appleseed bk 5, he went on to Dominion Tank Police: no more noise, and then back to Ghost in the Shell. I wouldn't be surprised if he lost all of his notes in the Great Hanshin Earthquake... which may be way he never returned to Appleseed. Anyhow, in either Ballistics or Bullets he mentioned his conversion from manga artist to manga-like artist... so I'm guessing that we'll never see another manga from him. Shame... but not too much, his female characters were getting a little too stylized in GiTS 2. Anyhow, I'm not sure if the lack of MC binders has to do with Goldenweek, or that the stores have only been selling excess stock from the start up until now... or if I've arrived at the bookstores too late (usually I get MC in the afternoon on the day they are released. But, as it's Golden Week, I wasn't able to get it until more than 30 hours after I usually get it... will try and find a binder in Kawaramachi tomorrow.
  20. Finished what I intend to do for the VF-25S B sheet. Enjoy.
  21. And here people in this very forum, have been harping on me for asking them to tone down their "colourful" and "threatening" language. Where's the common sense, these days?
  22. Two partial translations from #21: Chronicle Mechanic: MII UN 01a: VF-2SS Valkyrie II http://www.macrossroleplay.org/forums/index.php?topic=2166.0 (I don't have any plans to do anything further on it) Chronicle Mechanic: MF Citizen 02B: VF-25S Messiah http://www.macrossroleplay.org/forums/index.php?topic=2167.0 (about halfway through the data stats. Will be doing the missile counts, etc. that are printed, but as Gubaba has mentioned he'll be doing it, I'll leave it once the missile stats are up.) Can't remember if I mentioned the following (Gubaba, add these to the first page when you get the chance): Chronicle Mechanic: MF UN 05a: Destroid (Cheyenne II) http://www.macrossroleplay.org/forums/index.php?topic=2149.0 (work in progress, will be returning to it sooner than later) Chronicle Mechanic: MF UN 07a: Macross Frontier Vehicles http://www.macrossroleplay.org/forums/index.php?topic=2151.0 (Beatrice Tank (on reverse) finished. Partway through the commentary on the front, and the trailor should be finished shortly) So, looks like my plate is full with MF Vehicles, Destroid (Cheyenne II), MF For Fans Only (VF-171 & VF-171EX only), and then back to finishing Oberth, and others... gah
  23. Hit up another pair of bookshops today - no luck on the binder. I'll try another few spots in the next day or three, but it's looking like they're all sold out and bookstores aren't carrying them anymore. Looks like we'll have to start buying them from the manufacturer. In semi-related news, there's a new Shirow Masamune book out, "Pieces 1", containing a variety of art covering his whole career, at least one series showing his work in progress, and the 3 short stories collected from Exon Depot. Thumbs up if you're a Shirow fan. The hard cover is also nice, though it raises the price a fair bit. There's also a new Macross F manga collection out: "Macross F Comic Anthology". Basically a collection of short stories by a variety of authors.
  24. Rosetta stone? Plenty of commercials for it on tv here (Japan). As an English language teacher, I can say that it's more on gimmick and short on the other stuff. But that's just my impression of the English version. No clue on the Japanese. See my posts earlier in this thread regarding learning Japanese for more info.
  25. I'm glad that I live in a country, and am from another country that both have responsible media.
