  1. I've started a translation of the 2009.11 Newtype article. Looks like there are some really big changes to the story. http://www.macrossroleplay.org/forums/inde...g35645#msg35645
  2. To the best of my knowledge, yes, it was never released in Japan. (Source: http://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E8%B6%85%E6%....82.B9.E3.83.88 which can be compared to Macross Plus: http://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E3%83%9E%E3%....82.B9.E3.83.88 (specifically the mentioning of the movie edition))
  3. (Going from memory) 2013.
  4. I was mentioning them in the sense of being used as escort ships... But they weren't. #33 of Macross Chronicles gives a specific number of how many were produced.
  5. It's one of the final bosses of the "Macross Plus Game Edition", the other being the Neo-Glaug.
  6. And that pretty much sums up what we know about the Megaroad-01 fleet. I think I recently read somewhere that Zentraadi ships, an SDFN class ship and at least one ARMD (SDF:M style) accompanied the fleet, but nothing clear or with definite numbers. Anyhow, re: the Oberth lookalike: http://www.macrossroleplay.org/Sketchley/S...h/NeoOberth.htm
  7. I think this is a very good point. I just saw an add for it during "Warau ii to omou", which is one of only a handful of shows that are broadcast nationwide and is extremely popular. It's prime audience are OL - so the game is definetly being marketed to a wide demographic; which spells Macross goodness whichever way you look at it. I would like to try the game at least once, but as Hibime said, I too, can't stand the assault on the lungs and ears when entering one of those establishments. Not to mention the oft baffling rules of the games...
  8. If you can, cool. If you can't, also cool.
  9. It's from #1 or 2 of Macross Ace, right? Have both of those. Thanks for the offer, but it's more out of curiousity than anything else. I, too, am too busy with (more important) stuff to give it a work over.
  10. Did you search the main page? http://www.macrossworld.com/macross/books/dyrl_preview.htm
  11. Don't worry, you're correct in bracketing your statement with "what most consider...". Dallos is, of course, the correct first OVA (OAV?), but your bracketing saves you, as it implies that others think Megazone is, and you don't necessarily agree with that opinion. Ginrai gets the faux pas award for not reading carefully and mistaking an opinion for a fact... Anyhow, is there more of the interview translated? And if so, is it by someone with a less "colourful" (aka more accurate to the original) diction?
  12. I'm starting to see the commercials during prime-time, broad-demographic, all-country broadcasts. They're targeting the game quite widely (given the show I saw the CM in last night, I'd say it was aimed at the house-wife demographic. Possibly the university one, but that's beside my point). Point is: Macross (SDF:M specifically, all series in general) are getting much, much, much greater exposure than it did during Macross F's lead-up and series broadcast. To be honest, it's being targeted at a much wider audience, and with a greater budget than I anticipated. ... and no matter which way you look at it, it's good for the series in general. I think some of the possibilities that Tochiro mentioned may be in store for Macross.
  13. "Macross Special Preview" has a break down of the interior sections of the ship, as well as a side view of one of the multi-layered city sections in one of the legs.
  14. What is a Bodol Zer mobile fortress? The picture you have is the Botoru* Flagship. (This Is Animation the Select #11: 86) Anyhow, name-game aside, it's a "Mobile Fortress". (Macross Digitial Mission VF-X Flight Manual: 22, Macross Chronicle #25: 26) Nothing more, nothing less. We can only presume that there are multiple classes of mobile fortresses (SDFM, DYRL (the Botoru Flagship actually being a Westpoint Training ship with holographic projections, and the Moruku Rapuramizu* (Macross Chronicle #22: 07)), MDM VF-X, and a host of others that have appeared in the Macross II timeline; the Neld fleet one comes to mind first). * Non-standard romanization: Botol ** Non-standard romanization: Mork Laplamiz
  15. You read the caption above it on the source page, right? http://www.macrossroleplay.org/Sketchley/L...ons/Elysium.htm
  16. I think you'd have a more convincing arguement if you went the route of having Zentraadi being in stasis until being revived for a mission. Yes, the Zentraadi in stasis is something from the RPG, and I'm not sure how canon it is in Macross, but it's the only thing that explains the relatively young ages of the Zentraadi, the ages of their ships, and the time spent between combat operations (this is, of course, presuming that the Zentraadi weren't during much else while waiting for the Supervision Army's gun destroyer's defold reaction to be detected and that waiting is standard...). But I degress...
  17. Finished: Chronicle Glossary 01: Armoured Pack ~ Atlantis Dome http://www.macrossroleplay.org/forums/inde...g35343#msg35343 Some interesting tid-bits on Akusho, etc.. The part of the page that I'm most happy with (not my translation, just that it's part of the content) is the Macross Digital Mission VF-X character. Here's hoping that we'll get more non-animated series canon content in the remaining issues!
  18. Backing up your arguement, not his: http://www.macrossroleplay.org/forums/inde...g35077#msg35077 and
  19. Finished UN 19a: UN Military Vehicles: http://www.macrossroleplay.org/forums/inde...g35597#msg35597
  20. What I got was that the asteroid disrupted 1/2 the field of view. In on-going combat in an asteroid without appropriate back-up, it's a silly thing to do. Agreed that MF wasn't the first to do it, but the fact that many other movies and video games are doing it doesn't make it any more correct. Anyhow, it's Itano's view, and I'm not out to defend it. Just pointing out that aquilon's comparison is incorrect.
  21. Talk about comparing apples and oranges. Didn't the snipers set up a trap and remain concealed? Wasn't the Destroyer towing the lifeboat behind them at the time? Didn't the snipers wait for the opportunity to shoot all 3 pirates at the same time? Itano's beef is that a sniper is being used inaccurately. Not that it's being used on a moving object against other moving objects.
  22. Cool. It transforms.
  23. The colours of the support craft or ships is off. At first, I, too, thought it was a Galaxy fleet ship, but now I'm leaning towards it being a Vajra vessel or large unit. (Yellow support craft the same hue as the small Vajra, and the design of the big craft or ship doesn't fit the motif of Macross Galaxy, but does fit the motif of the Vajra).
