  1. Awesome work! It’s looking very realistic! And welcome to the board!
  2. Thanks Bolt, I usually make them up out of cut off trim pieces and stain them. I find a good base or plinth really enhances a piece.
  3. Here’s some early pre-shading and making the lift arm assemblies.
  4. Nice job! I may have missed it, but are the leg designs are slightly between the different Arii variants? Again great job, love different schemes and good save on the old crustulant decals! I know your pain.
  5. I have some GSI aqueous jars from the 90s that was able to revive with Replenisher. It quite as old but they did look beyond salvage!
  6. Catapult deck under construction. I used the Italeri deck kit and elements of the Macross deck kit as reference to make this one up out of sheet stock. The italeri had certain parts doubled that won’t be needed in that build and I’m still debating using BDs from the resin kit or scratch building them.

  8. Not great photos as my set up is packed up but almost complete. Still refining the panel lining and maybe add some fine weathering.

  14. I’ve got the pilot and canopy ready to go. Will get new pics up soon!
  15. Hey guys, Take your time and have fun with it. Keep your expectations in check. Everyone’s first effort is not going to turn out as it is in your mind’s eye. There’s no substitute for experience and you will learn as you go along and get better and better results as you absorb new ideas and techniques little by little. Part of the fun is learning those new things. Lots of great pointers from the other members. Best of luck with it!
  16. I got a little more done. I did manage to drop it when I was setting up my new space - breaking a wing, 1 mirror and knocking off one 500lb bomb. Repaired most of it and got the pilot assembled.
  17. Quick update, had to put this on hold while I get some Reno’s down in my basement - my old shop space is totally gone and I’m setting up a temp space. Just a few little touches to wrap it up!
