In the process of applying decals. This really enjoy this part of a build and it’s coming along well. Pics to come!

Rinse and repeat! I’m satisfied with the clear green of the lense, I just meant that the rim outlining the clear part of the panel was all dinged up for some reason and I’m not going to rebuild since it won’t be seen in the final presentation. This lense was clear green over Molotow chrome and then filled up with clear gloss. Thanks for the advice, I will give that method a shot on the next one (already in progress!).

The details are coming together. The gear is washed, wheels are painted and washed, and starting the decals. This particular head had some damage to the eye sensor but since it’s not visible I’m not too worried about it.

The blue striping is underway. The MG article omits these stripes but they’re visible on the decal sheet profile so I’m going with it!

Impressive work!

Ooopsie. These wings came out of the parts bin - they had had the flaps cut out and I reattached them, blowing out those spine details. I didn’t notice till now, lol. Will fix later.

Here’s the underlying yellow layer that will add some tonal variation to the green. The underside gray was done in the same way, just Mr. Color 92 built up with stencils over the black primer. This makes for a smooth paint finish with lots of variation.

Some more progress, the gray underside is mostly done, I shortened the front gear for the low launch position.

Got back to work on the Bushmaster VF. Lantirn pods, canopy has the final colour. I decided on the paints I’m using. I added a gray blue as per the ref photos that I couldn’t see on the decal profile.

Ah Brett, I did finish the S and now I’m finishing the Type 89 and then back to the bushmaster!

Ooh that’s too bad. Perhaps you could take them apart and copy the pattern and sew replacements with new fabric.

Build log - Aoshima V.F.G. VB-6 König Monster

Interesting! I’d personally lean towards modifying it into a singular scale Detroit if I ever were to find one. It’s cool to see the build progress so far! -

I wonder what scale this is? -
@pengbuzz that blimp screen is looking amazing! @MechTech the hands are coming together! Here’s my latest on the bench: jgsdf Type 89

That’s awesome 👏 looks like you’re having fun!!

I wonder if that means they’ll be doing the male power armour next? That would be great!

Thanks for the comments all! My build is a major conversion between the ‘88 kit and the HGUC exs gundam. I used the tail boom, boosters, rear thruster pod and wings from the old kit. The head, smart beam gun, torso, waist section, shoulder pods and arms are from the exs kit. I like to add a lot of small details to my builds: brass/aluminum barrels that I turn myself, sometimes painted sometimes not; Lenses and sensor strips, turned aluminum thrusters, stretched spruce antenna, etc. I added the propellant tanks and inner flap detail with sheet stock. I’ll post more pics of the finished build shortly!

Nicely done! I really like the lit boosters.

Just a quick update. This is on hold until my s-gundam booster is finished (which will be shortly). I did manage to paint the ordnance and canopy frame.
