  1. Ummm....Unit-02 looks like a snell with those little horns. And Unit-06's head and colour scheme are a major disappointment... But I do like the leaner look of the bodies.
  2. I came across this very interesting article on a documentary about Anno talking to elementary school kids. Haven't seen the documentary, but from the article, you get the feeling that Anno was really in deep trouble prior (or may be still is) the making of the Eva TV. I am just amazed how such a talented and accomplished person could have such low self-esteem....wow, a real life Shinji... http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/buried-treasure/2007-05-03
  3. A gurren fan photo-shopped colours the Revoltech Final Form Gurren Lagann..bad ass...
  4. How about this for a handle...I'll definitely sell the Godmarz for this peice...
  5. Sweet...that is really well done.
  6. Wow, Raideen is a bad boy (and its evil twin) indeed. Sculpt proportion wise, one of the best from Bandai.
  7. That's good news for all GL lovers. If it can comes back to its original retail price, it is a very worthwhile gokin. I am so glad we have another quality player entering the Gokin market, and they picked a fantastic mecha to make their debut. I wonder if they will keep it up with the other Gurren Lagann modes...
  8. After watching the video, I also caved in and made a deep "Lagann Impacto" to my wallet... Pic Source: warxv from http://www.toysdaily.com/discuz/viewthread...%3D1&page=3
  9. Here's the bomeshell: Rei spins which ever way you want her to be. Sounds like a familiar theme?? Omedetō. PS. After finished watching Gurren Lagann the other week, I thought I had found a series overtaking Evangelion, I got very nostalgic and re-watched the Eva TV episodes...so I made this very silly topic...but I just reconfirmed that EVA is still my all time fav...woo...whoo!!!!
  10. I saw that bid last night when I checked Yahoo JP. It was simply insane.
  11. How do you know if you are a right brain or a left brain person? The answer is: watch Evangelion. Remember the spinning Rei from the "Fly Me to the Moon" sequence? If you see Rei spinning clockwise, then you use more of the right side of the brain, and vice versa. Most of us would see Rei turning anti-clockwise though you can try to focus and change the direction; see if you can do it. Linky to the "Fly Me to the Moon" Sequence": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rj1ZpAaAKM4 Linky which explains the meaning of a right or left brain user: http://www.news.com.au/perthnow/story/0,21...ml?from=mostpop Now the question is, did Anno do that on purpose to play with our minds??? or just another Eva Urban Legend...
  12. Have you slide the "round" shoulder cap to lock the shoulder pin joint? I made the same mistake when I first got my YF-19, until Kensai point it out to me. Apart from the first issue, to me, the YF-19 is fairly robust.
  13. OMFG. I am 6 months late with Gurren Lagann but I just completed the entire series over the weekend. Just freaking awsome. So much hot-bloodness and GAR. It is what anime used to be After the final battle's "Gurren Lagann Russian Doll Sequence", I was so hyped, I felt the need to drill something...anime is alive again!!!!! My hat off to Gainax.
  14. Take that Ranka....oh...yeah...that feels better... (Fast forward to 1:47)
  15. Love that shinny deep blue. I wish the 1/60 Yammie had used a similar paint.
  16. I like your changes. If they have fatten the legs, I don't think it will be that obvious in fighter mode, especially after the fast pack is on. I like displaying battroid mode anyway, so the battroid look is more important to me - just a personal thing.
  17. NyanNyan, NyanNyan, Ni hao Nyan.....my head is hurting yet I can't turn away from it.....NyanNyan, NyanNyan, Ni hao Nyan...
  18. I think the problem lies with the painting. The skin tone and face feature are painted too hard, not enough softening.
  19. The box is out. This should clear up the confusion. Come to think of it, potentially, this could be one of the most expensive or sort after box. You can always weather the VF-1s yourself (and might do an even better job than Yamato) or pay someone else do it. A real Yamato weathered VF-1s is worthless without this box. So if you look at it this way, for those people who will be willing to pay $500+ for a Yamato weather valk, they are really just buying a box.
  20. I am a fan of the classic Jeeg as well. The new Jeeg looks like a clown in comparison.
  21. A winged Eva, never heard of it, but I dig it. Source: Toysdaily.com
  22. Yeah, it seems like they are gearing up for the double seater. It is a bit too squashy, especially combined with the shorter nose...oh well, I guess you just can't win with a VF-1 I am a little bit concern about some of the detail paint application. From some of the close-up, you can see very lazy/poor paint workmanship. Given it is a smaller figure, paint QC will be a worry. let's hope there will be alot of tampo print like SV-51.
  23. Just got a movie version. Now that the hype of the re-colour is truly over, I think I can pick my fav without bias. When I had it next to the original version, I actually like the original better. I think the re-colour scheme is not any more animate accurate then the old one, just a different palette. The new one is kind of too soft and plastic-ish to be a battle fortress. The old one has a real metal feel to it. Its luxurious feel appeals to me as a die-cast toy collector more so. So don't sell your original at dirt cheap price yet, you might regret it later.

    My first VF-2SS

Yeah, I wish VF-2SS get proper attention from big toy companies as well. To me it is as Macross Mecha as any other series. Nice job!!
