  1. I thought Ahsoka will lead Mando and crew through an underground mountain pass, where she’ll have to face off against the “Bane of Skywalker” who’s wielding a lightwhip. Upon barely surviving the encounter, the Force will cause a “Reconvergence of the Force” upon her (or some other mumbo-jumbo), and she’ll come back to her friends (while Bo Katan cough-mutters something about copying Kara Thrace). In the New Republic’s most desperate time of need, she’ll then return back triumphantly, leading the Riders of the Mandalore to save the day. And then she’ll help to save Coruscant from an invasion that will take 3.5 hours of runtime to resolve (5 hours if you’re watching the extended edition).
  2. Nah, they sending in the Mountain and waiting for Mando to screw up and get up close and personal.
  3. I’m gonna set the over/under at 3.5 for the streaming series. They gotta keep adding new content to feed the +. But some of the content is a bit iffy. I’d be totally down if the Droid story were about R2 (sans Threepio), Chopper, AP-5, or HK-47. But anyone else? Obi could be good. But as I’ve said before in this thread, too much plot gymnastics to get Obi and Vader to face off again. Can’t get much more “master vs. learner” than Obi chopping off Anakin’s arm and legs, jacking his lightsaber, and leaving him to die on some lava planet.
  4. Wouldn’t take much to put 2 and 2 together. - Unknown facial scan - Asking for location of/information about Gideon’s ship - At a base where officers were shot and a big explosion happened. If the New Republic can figure out that some dude in Mandalorian armor and a Razor Crest ship participated in a prison break but tried to prevent the murder of a New Republic officer, I think a more than competent Imperial moff can figure things out.
  5. Anime, huh? Does this mean will get a bunch of OP's and ED's?
  6. Variety is the spice of life, DH. Some missions require speed, some require a hefty payload, and sometimes you wanna confuse and pester the enemy with a variety of different fighter types.
  7. Yeah, the facial scan is probably gonna come back to bite him in the ass. But it also shows the lengths Mando will go to get the kid back. If he hadn't done it, it would be "Good for you! You kept your creed, but now you blew your best chance to find that kid you wanted to protect at all costs." The good thing about this show is that Mando's actions do have consequences (both good and bad) and are followed up in later episodes. I also do appreciate the cognitive dissonance this episode had going for it: we're cheering for Mando to succeed and empathize with the Imperial troopers celebrating his hard fought accomplishment. But he's also handing a destructive weapon to the "bad guys" and killing people who are probably trying to liberate their home from the Imps. And a tip of the cap for giving the character of Mayfield some solid depth. Guess some Imps can shoot straight!
  8. DEEBO!
  9. If it’s a mid-OT story, it’s kinda tricky to do without involving that farmboy that runs around with a lightsaber.
  10. Did they actually specify when this story will take place? No Wedge, no dice.
  11. Still think it’s dumb for Obi to cross paths with Vader during this time period. Obi’s goal between ROTS and ANH is to lay relatively low and watch/protect Luke. Too much plot gymnastics to either get Obi off Tatooine or have Papa Vader get a homecoming and not discover Luke. Still think an Obi, Hett, Anakin story that cuts back and forth between current time and Clone Wars period is the way to go. . . . In regards to all the new Star Wars series announcements, I’m sure some will turn out good. But . . . I got a bad feeling about this
  12. He did not say “TPS Reports”! Nice little conversations there in the transport. Quiet moment filled with good observations.
  13. Pics from Season 3: https://ew.com/tv/cobra-kai-season-3-first-photos/?slide=8e8af62b-3308-4ac3-8616-1f153ae9a127#8e8af62b-3308-4ac3-8616-1f153ae9a127 If you’ve seen the trailers, then it’s nothing really revealing or new.
  14. There might be a "slight" difference between Jedi and Sith. Papa Jango didn't mind being in the employ of Mr. Sith Dooku, so it reasons that Boba wouldn't take issue working for a Sith either. It's just seeing his pops beheaded by a purple laser-sword wielding space wizard that might make Boba a little surly towards Jedi. But bounty hunter fulfilling his contract, I don't think I have an issue with that take on Boba.
  15. Two theories: Probably letting Grogu slip to the Dark side. Easier to draw from that side. Faster way to replenish his Force strength. More Force ju-ju for Gideon to extract. OR Gideon’s trying to punch Grogu out. Let him waste his strength on low level enemies, so that he’s got nothing left for the “boss fight” or will put up less resistance. Rope-a-doping, if you will.
  16. It’s another nail in the coffin for retail and commercial spaces too. Malls were already hurting before the pandemic. And now most of the businesses that could take over a significant chunk of that space (movie theaters, gyms, restaurants, etc.) are hurting too. Add in that working virtual is now becoming more feasible, and you have less demand for those spaces or to convert them into office spaces. I could see movie theaters going the way of vinyl/LP records, becoming a specialty/niche market. But with THX sound systems and IMAX screens, I doubt they’ll completely go away.
  17. Actually, December 8th or 9th. I’m pot-committed at this point. Also, got Gideon coming in, so want a nice display. And don’t want to hunt like a madman to find the figures included with this. I feel for ya’ though, since you got more than one.
  18. Me, the wife, and the kiddos had a tradition of going to the movies Thanksgiving night or the next day (usually have the big ol’ feast at lunch instead). Even pre-Covid, the theaters were rarely packed Thanksgiving night. Kinda miss not doing that this year, but we’ll see how things pan out.
  19. That’s part of the movie going experience! About the only memorable part of Matrix Reloaded for me was squirming in my seat for the last 30 minutes or so, seeing the credits and hearing Calm Like Bomb, and making a beeline to take one of the longest leaks I’ve ever taken.
  20. I’m kinda spoiled with all the theaters nearby: assigned seating, recliners. Makes it a more enjoyable experience, and something fun to do with the kiddos . . . with minimal clean up afterwards. Yeah, home set-ups are getting to theater quality. But there is something about being with a bunch of fans on opening night for a big tent-pole movie. The energy of the crowd, everyone “getting” the Easter eggs and inside jokes. It’s just FUN. Back in the day, me and my boys used to go to Grauman’s Chinese Theater for the big movies’ opening weekend. That screen was freakin’ huge! Made for a fun experience. I’d like to get back to that fun group experience, but it’s ultimately a luxury. I’d like to see it survive, but ultimately, there are alternatives. EDIT: Pizza with tartar sauce?! I can understand ranch, but tartar sauce is a bridge too far for me (as I dip my French fries in mayo).
  21. * Glad they gave a tip of the cap to Ashley Eckstein, and never knew about the connection between Rosario and Hayden Christensen. * I don’t remember Rosario’s character in Shattered Glass, but it’s been awhile since I last watched that movie. * Interesting that Filoni being impacted by the California fires weaved its way into how the planet looked. Didn’t catch that on earlier viewings, but makes sense now. * And it’s POSSIBLE that this past episode happened BEFORE the end scene in Rebels. * So, the Balrog had a fire whip when it fought Gandalf the Grey. Ahsoka’s rocking a grey robe. The closest thing to a fire whip would be a lightsaber whip. . . OMG! Lumiya appearing in Mandalorian IMMINENT!!111!!!!
