  1. My biggest concern is JJ Abrams’ involvement in all this. Guy can’t develop a good story or deep characters that can survive even a minute’s worth of analysis/review. If Timm’s truly the guy running the show, that would alleviate some of my worries.
  2. Or they shift some of their story ideas to one of the other half-billion series that are set around that same time period.
  3. Kinda bummed that I’m just learning more about this manga now. Went down a little bit of a YouTube rabbit hole, when folks pointed out how Striga’s ass-whupping scene in Castlevania is reminiscent of Guts in the berserk armor.
  4. There's about a billion factors that come into play, as this thread has discussed: But other than sunlight, other factors in the room can also cause the the plastic to yellow: type of lighting within the room, temperature variations, the height you display an item (the closer to the ceiling an item is, the warmer the temperature tends to be). Hell, even the O2 in the room could be a factor. Even if you're just storing it in its box, the Styrofoam could interact with the plastic somehow, and again, temperature variations could cause the plastic to yellow within the box. And if you somehow control all those issues, then there's still the issue of the actual plastic itself: it could just be prone to yellowing due to some issues with how it was originally manufactured.
  5. Probably still Snake Eyes. Lost his biological family AND his ninja family. Thought for the longest time that his sword brother killed their master, thinking the reason was because Storm Shadow was actually trying to kill Snake instead. Became horribly disfigured and lost his voice trying to save Scarlett. Dude’s life is one bad break after another. Of course, he gets the red-headed chick, has a pet wolf, and eventually reconciles with his sword bro in the end. So. . .
  6. Yeah, I can’t expect them to go full-on Snake was part of a Long-Range Reconnaissance Patrol team that lost of few key buddies, then lost his parents and sister to a drunk driver (while they were driving to pick him up), and that drunk driver happens to be Cobra Commander’s brother. But yeah, tragedy should be his constant friend. I mean his code name is freakin’ “Snake Eyes” for crying out loud. Let’s just see if they can properly hit all the right beats with Snake’s origin story.
  7. Thanks for the link! There’s a lot of interesting info and pics there.
  8. I miss the old comics that came with the the first wave of figures. But I really don’t have much nostalgia feels for the old cartoon.
  9. Honestly, I just wanna hear Clancy Brown utter some dark, insane, foreboding monologue . . . and then change to a cheery dad-voice just one more time.
  10. Is it really smart for OSI Hope they find a way to incorporate the Order of the Triad, Red Death, and Brock doing his MDK thing in this film.
  11. Tore through Season 4 last night. Much like Seasons 2 and 3, the season starts with a lot of quiet character moments then builds up to some crazy fights. But one difference is that early on you’ll see a few of the characters taking some cuts and wounds by the hordes of baddies. You definitely feel how the constant barrage of fights wear down two of the characters. Seeing as this was announced as the final season, they definitely went for broke with these animated fights. Those bothered by the cussing in the past few seasons will find that they upped the cuss-count exponentially for this season. The gore is still there, but the “excesses” of Season 3 (think, Alucard and his two trainees or Hector-Lenore) aren’t really present. All in all, I enjoyed the thought they put into making the characters more well-developed and am pleased how they ended the series. One last curiosity:
  12. Not sure whether to be happy or bummed about this: https://www.polygon.com/animation-cartoons/22432125/venture-bros-movie-release-new-aqua-teen-metalocalypse Just can’t imagine them tying up all the loose ends, bringing back some of the key characters, and wrapping it all up in a movie-length feature.
  13. Appropriate for the day :
  14. Most stories make your head hurt. This one can give you a monster migraine if ya ain’t careful. The stories in The Prestige and Inception are definitely tighter. But Nolan definitely likes to mash story and filming techniques in different ways.
  15. Well, it is called a SHOCK trooper.
  16. Filoni and Favreau “get” Star Wars. The other two directors of the ST didn’t. Filoni somehow brilliantly made you appreciate The Phantom Menace for more than just the Maul v Obi and Qui-Gon duel.
  17. So, one size to scale with most Legiosses and another larger size to scale with the Rider Armors.
  18. Yeah, Mr. Robot was a good series too. Esmail was definitely copying some folks with his framing and the story beats. But it was done so freakin’ well. First season was one of the best things I had ever watched. Second season went to the same well one too many times. Third season got things back on track. And the fourth and final one finished strong. Knowing all the big reveals, I started to rewatch the whole series to see if there were nuggets hidden there the whole time.
  19. Oh, I get it. They just need to make sure they get the character right (like how they did Thrawn for Rebels). Of course, I’m also the salty curmudgeon whose “head canon” has Luke winding up with a redhead, there being a Ben SKYWALKER instead of a Ben Solo, and Imperial Knights that go full-on Jamie Lannister on an Emperor who strays too far down the Dark Side.
  20. @Saburo, is it necessarily Macross related? If it is, one of the few things that is that honking huge is the Yammy Stealth set.
  21. Just don’t mess with KOTOR too much (the games or the comics). Lot of good concepts and characters from that time period.
  22. Regarding Tenet, But it’s a crazy concept that must have been bonkers to film.
  23. I can understand why some folks would be miffed or pissed about this retcon. Instead of happening during a nice quiet moment of rest, Kanan’s Order 66 moment now happens in the middle of a battle (technically, a lull in one, but still). Just like the majority of the Order 66 scenes we’ve seen already. I get why they did it here in Bad Batch, but it’s still kind of a bummer. I’m still attached to a lot of the events that happened at the end of Tartakovsky’s Clone Wars, but it’s kinda hard to tie all that with what’s been shown in Filoni’s last eps of Clone Wars. Wasn’t the first, certainly won’t be the last, and definitely not the worst retcon we’ve seen in Star Wars.
  24. Second episode is already out. Serviceable ep.
  25. Promising start. Kinda tripped me up that Omega's Still not feeling Echo's armor, and he still seems redundant with Tech there. Is he supposed to be the team's defacto droid? Also, I was hoping the credits would list Dee Bradley Baker's name multiple times instead of the one credit line he got! Lastly, I guess Anakin was successful in getting that Padme noseart removed on the Batch's ship. EDIT:
