  1. They masquerade as women to get you to give them free Valkyries as gift for being soooo CUTE!
  2. I don't believe it. There are no women on the internet! Anyone who claims that they are, are probably guys faking it!

Maybe Bandai will offer a TWE hard point wings with TV missiles and sitting Minmay.
  4. I didn't get into Macross mecha collecting until about 3 years ago. Up until then I've only been watching the shows subtitled with no thought of looking into anything beyond that. Not even Robotech. I watched Shadow Chronicles a few months ago just to see what everyone was talking about. I did a quick search for Robotech Academy and can't seem to find an video or trailers about it. Everything official appears to have been removed. You guys age making me curious.

Regardless of where the items are manufactured, it is largely the responsibility of Bandai to make sure QC meets their requirements. Bandai may just need to either sample more items off the line or send more staff for QC. Now days, all the best consumer products are made in China: Hydro Flask, Apple products, Samsung products, etc. It's doubtful that Bandai would be able to move production back to Japan. They are experiencing a major labor shortage now days. Your collectables would still likely be produced with non-Japanese labor. QC might improve, it may not. Japanese pride and ethics may not be what it use to be. Look into Mazda, Nissan, Suzuki and Yamaha's emissions control scandal.

The 1/55s were built for play by young people. The 1/48s and 1/60s were made for older fans and collectors. HMR is kind of a middle ground. I'd like to play with my 1/55 more, but replacement is becoming more costly. The older HMR are going in that same direction sadly. The price of the Regults have gone up so much that I'm reluctant to play with them now. CD Japan shipped my VF-1D today!

Well, it really is an old argument. We all know that the show (SDFM) was riddiled with production errors. Lots of things look different from one scene to the next. It's really hard to say what is 100% correct. I'm sure that this won't be the last time where someone feels like Bandai cheaped out on details.

On my screen the VF-1D looks to have the same orange color issue as the VT-1. The Orange of the chest plate appears duller than the painted orange. My CD Japan order is also in "In Shipping Process."
  9. Now at 458. I'm out! Sleep is more important to me now.
  10. How does this work exactly? If I get in and decide to window shop for 30 minutes, do I tie up that connection for that time and no on else can access the site until I leave? I would guess that they need to upgrade their server service so PO night doesn't appear like a DDoS attack on their website. I may need to use NY only for web exclusive stuff only from this point forward. It's taken over 20 minutes to go from 1150ish to 570ish.
  11. You got Bandaied! Is Bandai's QC getting worse or is this within what's normal? There were a few complaints about QC with the HMR VF-4 release. Not to mention the DX YF-19 and the HMR Hikaru DYRL VF-1A.

So we need a windowed box Destroid release to balance things out?

The latest HI-METAL R announcement was the " HI-METAL R - Soltic H8RF Roundfacer Korchima Special - Limited Edition." It was a TWE that went on pre-order on April 1st and has a release date of July 2019. https://tamashii.jp/item/12853/?wovn=en It could be May or June before they announce the next HI-METAL R release.

With my limited understanding of photography: understanding lighting and composition gets you further than good equipment. Saburo is " Super Dimensional Enabler" for a reason. He make everything look good to the detriment of out wallets.
  16. You potentially need to have six! That is assuming they produce a Tread; which seems likely if this sells well. It seems to me that anytime T-Rex is involved in development, retail prices will be near $300 American. They need to get paid too.
  17. We should probably rephrase the original statement. For starters, Kakizaki had the same initial "A" rating as Max in SDFM. He got taken out by bad luck in SDFM. As far as DYRL, we should say that "You needed someone like Milia to take out Kakizaki."
  18. If you are planning to LED light the blast, then opaque is probably not a bad thing. If you use a clear or transparent yellow filament and use a yellow LED, it may work in your favor.

I finally received my VF-4. I have a scratch in the black area of the nose cone right in front of the cockpit. The yellow plastic shows through. Otherwise, no other issues. I did have a scary moment when I was transforming it for the first time. While I was disconnecting the legs from the body, I somehow applied too much pressure on the trap door of the little fin and it popped into the cavity. I found no easy way to get the door back out. I tried to push the roll pin out with a paperclip as I had no punch nor a way to hold everything steady enough to tap it out. I ended up bending the paperclip into a hook and yanked the door back out. There are very faint stress marks on the plastic near the area where the fin snaps in now. I'm hoping it fades with time.

My VF-4 has spent more time at customs than it had traveling from Japan. It arrived in state on the 27th of March. It passed through customs on the 28th. It's been showing "Origin Post is Preparing Shipment" for 8 days now.
  21. I caution buffing clear plastic with toothpaste. Unless you know for a fact that the grit on it is really, really fine. Using toothpaste you run the risk of turning your clear plastic into opaque plastic from all the scratches you could create from the toothpaste grit. Use NOVUS Plastic Polish or something similar. I had to repair a plastic motorcycle helmet visor for a coworker that my other coworker screwed up using toothpaste to polish out a few scratches.. As far as hydrogen peroxide, read the forum topic that F360 linked. The hair paste seems to work best, but you can easily go too far with it or end up with a patchy result. Research, research, research!
  22. My guess is that is is more a popularity issue. There is demand, but no where near what the Macross line gets. Not a lot of sequels to keep the popularity up. This gives me hope that we might see TWE blue Phalanxs. I did watch the 1st episode of Dougram. I'm not sure if I'll continue with it.
  23. HI-METAL R - Soltic H8RF Roundfacer Korchima Special - Limited Edition up for pre-order if anyone is interested! 12280 yen. https://www.nippon-yasan.com/figures/27471-hi-metal-r-soltic-h8rf-roundfacer-korchima-special-limited-edition.html
