BSG Colonial Raptor Moebius kit WIP.
Return To Kit Form replied to 505thAirborne's topic in Model kits
Great work on the Raptor. Man it looks like a big kit too. BTW how is the fit? - Brett -
Just a heads up that we are having a bit of a sale over the next couple of days. 10% off all kit + free world wide shipping if you spend over $200. Head on over to our FaceBook page and check it out! Cheers, Brett

I wasn't sure weather to put this in the fan works section or here. But I decided here since I know what is inside It's a one off advent calendar that we made just for a bit of christmas fun. At any rate I can't wait for December 1st!
-
Maybe they learnt their lesson on that one. Even Tenjin criticised the last kit as not being right (at least according to the Adrian and Gwyn who hang out with Tenjin a bit)

BTW congratulations on the Tested clip Mike! Slave One looked awesome in the footage. Cheers, Brett -
As soon as I wrap up the battle pods I'll be looking at the next project. If the there is enough demand the I'll do some infantry. Otherwise I'll he looking at te releasing the N-Ger powered armour. Brett
-
The pilot? You could get one from me. What are you using it with? At this stage we only have the seated one but infantry versions will be available in the future. If you want you can email us at: returntokitform@gmail.com. Cheers, Brett

Thanks guys! The build inches along. It's so disappointing to realise just how far your skills have degraded over time - just gotta keep at it.
-
Those are 10mm squares. If that was inches it would be huge!

In amongst everything else that I have on my plate I am building up this fighter pod as a demo for our kit. It is taking a while as I am spreading my time across a few builds plus casting, being a husband and father and working full time but it is coming along. I chose east block aircraft cockpit colors as they are a bit more vibrant and contrast nicely with the dull green exterior. The colours are just blocked in for now with plenty more detail painting, fading and washes etc to come (a pilot too). Let us know what you think! Cheers, Brett

I hear you about the whole supply/demand thing. This issue just isn't black and white and is mostly opinion driven but it is a damn shame to see recasts out there when you can still get originals. You can purchase kits from me here at the boards, ebay or check out our FB page: https://www.facebook.com/Returntokitform/ At this stage we only have half a dozen kits cast from the patterns we purchased from Captain America but the line will be extending with a a series of canopy masking sets, plus a 1/72 scale TV N-Ger and Zentran infantry next in line. Cheers, Brett

Lots of work needed to turn these unsellable parts into a Heavy Missile Carrier! It's worth it as I had to waste materials. -
The LV and rail can be purchased through SSM: https://starshipmodeler.biz/shop/index.cfm/product/1802_61/172-booster-launch-vehicle.html For the flagship you would have to contact Scale Solutions directly and see what the deal is. Other than that they do appear on the MW for sale threads here from time to time. Cheers

Whats Lying on your Workbench MK IV
Return To Kit Form replied to Urashiman's topic in The Workshop!
That cannon barrel is outrageously well done. Bravo MT that is some great work -
Please don't purchase any of the Macross items from that retailer. I see quite a few cheap recasts of kits that are easily available from people who actually own the original patterns. Namely the launch vehicle and rail, launch arm and Breetai's flagship. I wondered where the Kits Power knock offs had gone to an now we know. Just save a little bit longer and get an original, buying off these guys hurts legit GKers. I know it is going to kill me the day I find one of my kits on that site. Cheers, Brett

Cheers Arbit - I think I took a few years off doing that one. And it was a compromise considering I originally wanted a hex pattern -

Cool I hope it brings a smike for years to come. Btw I updated the thread title and I'll put all my Legult builds here. Ive already started on the next one! -
I have a new found love for these old kits although these days they are not easy to come by. The only sore point for me is the nose which is why I am making a resin replacement available soon for anyone that wants to update their old kit. Nice clean work on the build so far. Are you brush painting this one?

Thanks Spanner it was a blast building it. Now I just have to get one and build one for myself along with it's brothers. I delayed updating the thread here because I was pressed for time and chose sleep over forum updates, so here is the catch up: After sparaying a test patch I was happy with the colour and it look great under a coat of Tamiya semi gloss clear: So after a quick shot of primer I sprayed the base coat and the grey. Unfortunately something went wrong and the paint lifted when I peeled of the masking tape. This issue repeated itself all over the kit so I had to strip the lot back and start again. It was pretty demoralising but hey you just have to crack on right? In the end I am pretty sure that I missed a step and didn't clean all the mould release off and give the surface a nice tooth with a scrub of cleanser. A couple of days later I was back at this stage: And things were looking pretty good After that it was just a matter adding the decals and putting the time in decolourising and applying a subtle oil paint shading. End result: Unfortunately I didn't have to take and good shots on a clean background but that is okay - I'll just build another -
