1/72 Scale Moscato Pattern Glaug
Return To Kit Form replied to Return To Kit Form's topic in Model kits
Thanks guys. @tekering unfortunately not. Time constraints for ScaleACT24 and the fact my pilot was away being cast for the reissue of this kit meant that I didn't bother. I may revisit that. Or just build another one with the full treatment. @Bolt Thanks mate. It was the obvious choice if I wanted to include the VF-1A and pilot for scale. @Thom IM not convinced that I pullednit off. The pilot was expertly sculpted and 3D printed by our very own @arbit. If you haven't already then check out his patrons for some awesome stuff. -
The Macross Modelling Illuminati are kicking off a group build that starts next month. Some are members here (and quite well k own too) but some are not so I'll post updates here on their behalf. The theme is SDF-1 so any SDF-1 kit is eligible (so far dominated by Hasegawa 1/4000 verauons) and the deadline is 01APR26. Keep and eye out on IG for #macrossgb Here is mine will all the raw materials ready to go; kit, panel decals and phito etch!

I completed this kit last year but only got.around to taking photos this week. I present you a Glaug in proper 1/72 scale!
-
Definitely interested! would this nprint in 1/.48 as well?
-
Check your instructions. Pretty sure they show to put one side either way so at least on UN SPACEY decal is correct regardless of which mode.

That stubby nose didn't get any better with paint 😵💫
-
That's cool, but I would update the scheme with a hex pattern along the green demarcation line for a little pizazz.
-
You were there? Damn I am going to have to put a shout out to Macross builders next year for a catch up! No more missed opportunities!
-
You took the words right out of my mouth!

Small and weirdly shaped at the nose compared to the line art. They messed up the Regults as well bu having the pod too small and the thrusters to high up.

Tze is an excellent builder and has been published. I'm hoping his kits will be in the Paint on Plastic Macross book when it comes out. -

Thanks mate. She kept me safe and I got out without a scratch. Really lucky considering I crossed and recrossed three lanes of traffic and freeway speeds going backwards. -

That a sweet looking luxobarge youve got there! Any plans? -
They have reissued the VF-1D a bunch of times including as The Virgin Road edition. Plus they released (and reissued) a GERWALK kit so I'd say it is popular enough. -BT

A few months ago this old girl joined the garage. Nothing special by U.S standards but only 200 or so made it on the roads down here in Australia and according to the VIN mine is 1 of 7 in this colour combination. I have been driving it Since September and I still haven't seen another one!. -

We have opened our first pre order for John's kit from back in the day (I am not sure if this ever got a re release after 2007). 10 orders are needed to kick this off ( we have 4 so far) and the kit comes with water slide decals and colour instructions. If we get the number the kits should be ready in late September. Send me a PM (or just comment below) if you are interested Kit Price AUD$200 + Shipping Thanks to John Moscato for letting me use his images 😉 Cheers, Brett

John I can send you anything you need as I have a bunch of YF-21/22 kits on the shelf any other bits you might need. -
Thanks for the comparison images @tekering! It looks like the Hasegawa is too small - much like the Bandai.
-
@tekering congratulations on a great build and a well deserved win in the MHM competition. You really have made that kit shine andnitnis great to see one built! -BT

My guess is that this has been in the works for a while has retains the early kit designation. Hasegawa only have a small staff and have been kept busy with the Delta kits, Mechatro, MaK and retro anime releases too. I'd hesitantly guess that for whatever reason the GPB made it to the top of the list. Hasegawa pay attention to toy releases so perhaps they were hoping to cash in on the hype around Bandai DX GBP release for those that aren't into toys or don't have the spare cash.
