  1. For NG+ I used the Typhoon with 8AGMs; wiped the airfield then the northeastern base before reloading and going after the lone outbosts/convoys and finally the western base. By the time I timed out there were exactly 3 enemies left on the map; I don't remember the score but the only things left were 3 of the 4 Gripens. As for the ace in First Contact you have to take out all non target enemies; what I did is leave a single target so the later stage of the mission didn't trigger and came back for it after downing the ace.
  2. I would pay serious money for a decent size die cast Falken. If they made it in Razgriz colors with an opening laser bay and a built in laser pointer they could put any price they wanted on it and I'd find a way to pay.
  3. That was a phenomenal waste of money; I got the first frame arm kit assembled and completely lost any motivation to do anything further. The amount of time and effort to get this to something I would consider displayable vastly exceeds what I'm willing to put in for something that can do nothing more than sit on a shelf picking up dust. If anyone's interested in some Frame Arm and M.S.G. kits (and some un-opened acrylic paints and modeling supplies) I'm going to have a ton available in a sale thread once I sort through what I have and how much it cost per item.
  4. Thanks for the advise everyone; I've ditched the marker idea and have some Vallejho mecha color acrylics, primers, coatings, and supplies en route, I figure if I'm going to be painting it I might as well try and do it right. Besides with what I spent on the Frames and MSG weapons + kits (an impulsive shopper, Kotobukiya's line up, nothing to do, and a extra paycheck is a bad combination) I really want to get some decent looking pieces out of it so I don't feel like I wasted a ton of money.
  5. I have a modeling question and this seems to be the most applicable thread to ask in. I have no model building experience but finally caved and ordered a few Frame Arms kits form HLJ cause they looked cool and the description said they didn't need glue or paint; looking into them further though they apparently do need paint for the details and accent work. Will the Gundam paint markers HLJ sells work for the details rather than having to use regular paints? I'm hoping they will cause I just don't have the patience to deal with painting. Any insights on the paint or other advise for building these would be welcome.
  6. Imagine how I feel; I didn't have room to display it so didn't open anything further than the shipper box when it arrived. So now I have a MISB 31A sitting with my other valk boxes and any time I think about opening it I get reminded that I could sell it for a 100% profit at minimum. I'm something of a completionist so I'll probably never sell it but that's enough money that I still havn't opened it.
  7. Correct; I was referring to the images in the linked tweet though which has the Drakens set at different angles by angling the wing tips differently.
  8. Pretty sure there's only one adapter; it just attaches to the foldable section of the wings and the wings themselves are at different angles. From the placeholder images Bandai's shown on their site the clips appear to connect to the hardpoints on the outer wing sections; still easily printable but I'm expecting we'll get a better hold than just friction.
  9. How would you say Hobby master compares in general? I've picked up a few HM planes but my only Century wings plane is a 1/72 SR-71 and the quality isn't quite to the same level (plane itself I fine but the stand is barely enough for that much weight; to the point that anytime I touch it I'm afraid it's going to snap it flexes so much) so I've been hesitant to pick up any more.
  10. If you could give me the dimensions for the pivot (Cleared diameter needed for mating your stock parts, thickness, and the diameter of the clearance hole for the screw) so I can make sure my design will be compatible with the your arm/elbow pieces I'd appreciate it. I'll probably do a 3D printed "casting" though shapeways then get the mating surfaces finish machined; should be easier for my brother in law to squeeze in than hogging it out of stock.
  11. Awesome; as long as it can wait till the 27 I should be good.
  12. Anyone know when AmiAmi's likely to request payment on the 31S preorder and how long they give you to pay?
  13. @ChaoticYeti I got the plane in and measured the stand for the adapter dimensions; is it possible to get an adapter made in metal? The size it needs to be just wouldn't support any load in plastic. (Anything below the break line I have shown can be whatever is needed to facilitate the pivot; the face of the pivot should be parallel to the long side of the tab.) The plane weighs ~1-2Lbs and any bank would put all of the stress across the .0625" tab with no good way to pick up another surface on the cradle and spread the load. I just don't see plastic working in that situation. If you have any issues making it in metal I'll still get a couple of the custom wall brackets and some of your stock parts but I'll see if I can get my brother in law to machine the adapter.
  14. Yeah, only 1 pivot. Anything on the other side would end up in my coworker's cube.
  15. F-14A for now; I'm actually starting to think that if the mount works out I might get 2 and order a MiG or Sukhoi for a dogfight scene. I've already crammed the top of my computer with a P-51D, T-38, F-15, and F/A-18E; I was originally hoping the -14 would fit there but there's nowhere near enough room.
  16. The wall measured at 2.1 inches. I did a rough sketch of what I was thinking for the mounting bracket (really wish there was a usable CAD application on android). I'd think something like that should provide enough stability to keep the mount from twisting off the wall. For the adapter to attach the plane I'm still waiting on the one I'd want to use this with to arrive so I don't know what I need on that end yet.
  17. Out of curiosity is possible to make a custom base and adapter? I'm trying to squeeze in another Hobby Master 1/72 diecast in at my desk at work but my only option without obstructing my work area would be to find a way to hang it off the cube wall; I was thinking a U shaped bracket to fit over the top of the wall and an adapter that mates to the stock HM cradle would probably work.
  18. Provided they didn't alter the base mold significantly (which as it would cost more money for no possible gain is highly unlikely) there shouldn't be any issues. Also unless I'm mistaken on how the brackets attach the supers should work even with the drakkens attached; the brackets for the drakkens appear to attach to the outboard hardpoint and since the drakkens mount vertically I think there should be enough clearance for the boosters to attach normaly.
  19. Prop spins, canopy slides open, and wing flaps have some limited movement; gear wheels roll but requires a part swap for retraction.
  20. Not sure yet. The only moving part I noticed in my quick check (I don't want to risk losing parts in my hotel room or suitcase so I havn't even opened the trays yet.) was the 51's prop; everything else looked to be part swaps.
  21. Just got back from a tour of Boeing's factory; found these in the gift shop.
  22. That's my one complaint; you can't get the thighs high enough to have it in the kneeling crouch it gets seen in fairly frequently (during boarding or in storage) in the show.
  23. I'd definitely go with the first one; it' still fairly snug to the wing and just looks a lot better. The only detractor is that the shape doesn't transition that well but that should be pretty easy to fix with the shape of the bracket. Edit: you might also want to check how it looks on the inboard hardpoints; I think it'd look better closer in to the fuselage and that'd also put it on the arms in battroid/gerwalk which could look really cool.
