  1. I just ordered a test print of a replacement mounting bracket to confirm it works before I make it available through shapeways. Sorry for the delay when I said I'd do it months ago (and had the model done a couple days later); I've been going through the move from hell and forgot to order the test print once I finally had an adress to send it to. I should get it in ~3 weeks and if it works as is I'll just throw a pair of them on sprues to reduce cost and make it available. If it doesn't work I'll have to tweak the design and do another test run.
  2. As much as I'd love one of those I doubt anyone's going to make one larger than 1/200; even at 1/100 it'd have a 20 inch wingspan. Granted I can't say too much about unrealistic hopes when I'm waiting for someone to make a diecast B-1B at 1/72 to match the rest of my collection. That, a 1/72 Saturn V, and a diecast 1/72 shuttle (without having to drop >$2K on that limited edition Chogokin one) would be my dream centerpieces.
  3. With the caveat of me not having anything else to compare it to I'd say it's pretty good. It feels solid to hold with the exception of the windows on the doors; those are by necessity unsupported plastic and likely somewhat fragile. Detail is fine enough to capture every button the actual car has (all 10 or so of them), there are actual cloth or fabric seatbelts with buckles, all leather surfaces on the interior are acrually leather or a reasonably close approximation, and while I havn't been under my model 3 to verify the accuracy the underside of the model appears fully detailed. Overall I'd say it's probably worth the $250 I paid for it.
  4. Got my first 1:18 car to go with it's somewhat pricier equivalent that I got earlier in the week.
  5. Not quite what I was referring to but definately don't do that either. That's where I pulled it apart to. Note the damage on the ankle pin on the left; definately an extremely tight force fit at minimum if not glued in place. Granted based on pictures of the correct units replacement parts should include both the foot and ankle so destroying your current ones really doesn't matter much if you're pusuing a replacement part.
  6. I'll note that you do not want to try and separate the foot and ankle piece that's attached to it; just take off the removable ankle piece. I did it on mine since I was thinking to 3D model and print a corrected ankle and it did a number on the plastic ankle piece getting it out.
  7. Yup; and it's a single piece that's central to whole foot with everything attaching to it being either pin joints or glued and riveted on. There's no way truly fix it short of a replacement foot or a ton of work rebuilding the whole assembly. The piece that would need to be replaced is also metal so a printed plastic replacement would likely wear out fairly quickly at best since they seem to only use metal in high stress parts. Shaving down one side of the ankle like a previous poster showed will get you a bit more clearance within the leg to have it fit a little better but I can't imagine it'll make all that much of a difference when the foot has that kind of offset built into it.
  8. I just pulled mine apart and this isn't a 3D printable fix; the whole foot assembly below the ankle needs to be replaced. The ankle itself may be wrong but isn't the issue as it's effectively symmetrical.
  9. Yeah I thought the same for a sec but they're apparently classified under display models rather than diecast aircraft.
  10. If you're looking for a physical store I've seen diecast planes in exactly two stores since I've been collecting; both were gift shops at aviation museums. For online stores The Flying Mule has pretty much whatever you want as far as diecast aircraft go and I'm pretty sure they're California based. https://www.flyingmule.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?CAT_TYP=&CAT_OPR=&CAT_RNG=CAT_RNG_DSP_AIR_DAC&CAT_SCL=&CAT_DPT=&CAT_USR=+&x=45&y=10&Store_Code=AV&Screen=SRCH&Search=CAT_RNG_DSP_AIR_DAC++
  11. If I'm remembering right tampo printing uses a silicon pad (hence the name) with a negative of the design engraved into it to pick up ink and press it onto the object. Edit: If you can stomach really cringey advertisement videos I found one that has a decent overview of the process: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=AX3fwGpT6Gs
  12. Unless I'm remembering wrong Fairy Gone was always supposed to be a split cour with 24 episodes.
  13. Looks a bit different than I remember from the series but apparently Bandai made a Metal Build GN Archer. Edit: this thing has to be the most insanely poseable Metal Build or DX I've ever seen.
  14. Missile pylon prototype #2; closer but still a bit loose.
  15. Based on the 2 I just got; roughly 50%. Glad the design worked; sorry about the color though. Unfotunately Shapeways only offers a single shade of green plastic; I can give you the file if you want to try finding somewhere closer to you that can get the right color. As for the adapters I got them pretty close for a first try; I need to rework the hardpoint attachment the opening for the pylon attachments, and the missile spacing on the 3X AMRAAM mount but the concept clearly works.
  16. Unfortunately I'm pretty limited on when I can work on models for personal stuff; that adapter would be pretty simple to model but I don't know when I'll have the opportunity to do it. I'll add it to my list though.
  17. Not perfect but it should be close enough to work (The geometry of the support struts is a bit off, they have a rounder cross section rather than the elongated diamond of the stock part. Should just be a visual difference) and there are some supports I had to add that will have to be removed. https://www.shapeways.com/product/V73KC7VQR/dx-chogokin-yf-19-fold-booster-cradle-replacement Shapeways is saying there's a thin wall but from what I'm seeing it's just an error in their automatic analysis and shouldn't effect print ability. If you run into any issues with it let me know and I'll see if I can fix it. I'll put the pylons and adapters up after I order some test prints to ensure they work.
  18. I'm starting to work on models for the YF-19 missile pylons and some expanded options for mounting (Three reaction miisles per hardpoint anyone?) now but I threw that bracket in my bag of parts to model. Not my top priority but I'll see what I can do.
  19. Just got my Valkyrie Factory missiles and can confirm they're more reaction torpedoes than reaction missiles. Next to the YF-19 reaction missiles for reference. They still look decent if you're going for a torpedo bomber aesthetic. And are far cheaper than buying extra -19s or -31s for missiles.
  20. No; I'll do adapters and minor stuff like that but anything Bandai might see as an issue is more trouble than it's worth. Xigfied's missiles are probably safe as Bandai's never made the particular missile types he sells but I'd say any reaction missiles or MDEs would be more of a risk than I'm willing to take. Personally I also don't see 3D prints as being viable for display pieces yet. The adapters aren't really going to be noticed but the missiles would be, and unless you put a ton of time into prep/painting they're not going to look very good.
  21. It's on my projects list but my Lil Draken sets are in storage for the next few months while I move. After that (if no one's done it by then) I'll get measurements and model it; and see if I can make a version that doesn't interfere with the super parts.
  22. The speaker pods use the same mounts as the VF-25 missiles where they clip to the front of the wings; no adapter needed (I don't think I ever mounted the speakers but I have some of the missiles from the Ver.1 missile set on my renewal RVF-25.)
  23. There's actually 5 31As in that shot; look above the other set of catapults.
  24. Can't reccomend Starship Opperators enough; not the best series ever but very good and it gets space (mostly) right. I'd put it as the second best hard scifi space anime after Planetes.
  25. Any of the multi-lock ground weapons are really inefficient for that mission, since blowing up an oil tank chains to everything nearby you're actually better off using standard missiles or even guns on a single tank in each cluster of buildings. The best I've found is using the LACM (I've got it on the Gripen; not sure what else can mount it) with expanded bomb area parts and dropping them between clusters to trigger multiple chains at once; GBP, SOD, RKT, etc. should be able to do the same but may be harder depending on the size and shape of the footprint. An F-15 (J?), one of the Sukhois and maybe a couple others have a TLS pod like the Morgen's available; I'm reasonably certain one of the "3 original planes" coming as DLC will be either the FALKEN (^ from what I've heard it's not in the base game) or the RAVEN either of which should also have it. ^^ I can confirm most of those though Battle of Farbanti plus Tempest; and that they show up on normal difficulty. Exceptions are BAYONET, WALRUS, and BOGEN who I didn't meet the conditions for but will probably spawn on normal since if any of them were locked to higher difficulties TEMPEST would be one of them.
