  1. I'd love for that 1/2000 to be painted in an SDF:M scheme. Where are the web exclusive Prometheus and Daedalus to put on the arms, though?
  2. Now that I got my hands on TV Roy, I'm waiting for my unassembled kits to arrive and plotting this out. Still going to paint them... thinking the most dangerous spots (inside and outside of the arms, inboard sides of the legs, etc) will stay white like the TV valks the the bottom of the arms could still take ghost grey without a whole lot of risk IMO. Might try a really light coat of ghost gray and treat any resulting transformation damage as "weathering." Otherwise, in fighter it'll be light ghost gray on the nose and rest of the bottom, gunship gray on the top, and a metallic on the edges and accents. Anyone painted/tinted the clear visor and/or canopy? I'm thinking of trying out a "have glass" style look
  3. That reminds me of the idea I've seen some folks gave wrt F-22 production... keep producing airframes, etc but just don't make them stealth. That way we get good replacements for F-15's, that don't need to be in the first wave, and possibly exportable. And it keeps the tooling, etc alive in the event a need was shown for a real F-22C. Oh well.
  4. Yeah, went through the manual and didn't see anything circled or the like. Gotta say that I love the tampo printing, especially on the gunpod and the intake stickers, as well as the (now) requisite UN Spacy Kites and numbers. Was very happy to see the instrumentation pre-done, as well. If only it had the VF's on the ankles, I probably wouldn't add any. Now, think I gotta repair my broken Thunder Hummer and redo it in white to match.
  5. Got it. That was fast. Love AmiAmi! My first 1/60 v2. First impressions are pretty cool. I definitely see the improvements to the 1/48 lineage. That backpack scares me almost as much as BP8... is it supposed to require force to get past that detent? Am I transforming it wrong, or does the square piece that goes around the shoulder joints not lock to the chest plate like the v1 1/60 did? After 1 transformation, I think the black on the shoulders looks like it could be chip city coming up, huh? Love the detail in the feet and the pilot is awesome. Love TV Roy!
  6. Anyone see the new Ace Combat mentioned at TGS?

    Yamato 1/60 Regult

How many parts in a 1/60 VF-1, VF-11, YF-19, or VF-22? Given how many of those pieces are joints, I'm expecting alot more, particularly for the bigger valks... even without FAST Packs.
  8. Indeed. It's enough to hope that someday, we could get a realistic "Band of Brothers" type sci-fi anthology series with realistic command/unit/personnel rotations, etc.

    Yamato 1/60 Regult

It's so expensive because of the tiny volume, isn't it? It's definitely not a tenth as complicated as say... a transforming valkyrie. Only real analogy to draw on is the 1/2000 SDF-1...
  10. Awesome. I'm def down for a NATO/JASDF weapon set!
  11. Whew! Finally got one from AmiAmi. My first v2 (along with a couple unbuilt kits).
  12. Really, which Darth Sidious? I think I passed on the Senate Duel one...
  13. ami ami will almost certainly get it. Just a question of how much and when.
  14. Oh, how could I forget my favorite from childhood: I always hated the Galaxy design as a big spacey love boat. I didn't start to respect it until seeing it in the Dominion War episodes in DS9
  15. Right. Not only that, but even so, it still needed to be a torpedo as we clearly see Luke's torp turn the corner. Even if SW used B5-style thrust vectoring, getting a straight on shot long enough to hit the reactor would be one in a million, if not one in a billion or trillion angle. Even without TIE fighters coming after you. Still, DS2 supposedly fixed that flaw... if it had been completed before the Rebel Scum attacked, err... that is were lured into the Emperor's carefully planned trap (which was all foiled by Han Solo stepping on that twig).

    Yamato 1/60 Regult

I would definitely pass on most Zentran/Meltran pilots since you can't really tell if one is in there or if they're robotic/drones from the way they fight. In fact, given their TIE Fighter like ubiquity, you'd almost think they were drones. lol seriously, though, hopefully the Zentraedi mecha are more prominent in the next macross show, so we have a decent chance at getting some 1/60 scale mecha. Since they had the same mecha for thousands of years, paint jobs and maybe attachments (Regult with a Glaug like particle cannon instead of the AA guns or missile launchers could be possible) are the only realistic changes we should see.
  17. Definitely hope they get to some other stuff before repeating the cycle once again. 1/60 has been my favorite scale, but I'm actually kinda hoping Yamato would revisit 1/72 or 1/100 since you can get alot of realistic aircraft, ground crews, etc at those scales.
  18. I transform Gamlin fine, but my YF-21 always gives me a devil of a time. Not only is my T-bar cracked/broken/chipped to hell (and was somewhere in the first couple transformations) but now I broke off one of the backpack thrusters (sheered off the screw). It presses and mostly stays on and back in fighter, probably for good. But yeah, my Gamlin is still my favorite Valk, easily. Love the design. I kinda want to get another one to leave in Battroid cause I love the fighter so much. Kinda want a Max, but more interested in getting a couple VF-11C at this point.
  19. Oh yeah, I'd be remiss if I failed to mention my favorite starfighter design:
  20. Did he get his hand chopped off first?

    Yamato 1/60 Regult

Dayum, a beauty. I want it.
  22. Bump for any results. I just ordered 2 from HLJ given their clearance pricing. Need something to put on my Thunder Hummer... on twin VF-1S wingmen. I'll probably leave one bare, but want to do a low-viz scheme on another. Have you asked Yamato if this was successful or anything Yamato plans on doing again, Graham? Would love to get another one with the J head and the new crotch system.

    VF-1 Thunder Hummer

Wow, that pic of the 1/48 makes me wish I had mine done in white like the OG. Didn't the 1/48 kit come with a gold visor and the head lasers with the holes in them?
  24. Is this a ground up redesign or the basic 1/60 YF-19 with different sized/shaped components? Most of the gimmicks (leg missiles, shoulders, etc) seem doable on the current design...
