I paid $185 for my 1/48 DYRL Hikaru "A" Valk. What a stupid mess............. I won't even add the extra canopy I had to buy for the stupid thing being broken.

Dudes, the guy even has raised crane hoist brackets on that custom!

These things just don't look right on the Bulky Lee... They clash with the blue trim something awful....

I am going to start incorporating those nozzles on my 1/55 customs. Very nice idea!

I'm waiting. They look like crap together.... That blue is just the wrong color for the FP and on the Bulky Lee it looks even worse....

Nice pictures. Max really shouldn't be doing that to Roy though...there are probably children on this board! I think the FP looks bad on the Bulky Lee. The colors clash horribly. What a shame. I was going to get a set for him....not any more.

Given that they only use the Fast Packs in space, then yes. I would say NO. In the Macross TV Show we see a headon shot of a Valk launching from the carrier in space (where Roy is showing Hikaru about them) and there are no intake covers shown. You can see the fans spinning inside the intakes. I'll do some digging for a Super headon shot when I get home....

Can you explain what you mean about Yamato not releasing spare canopies? I received two spare canopies through HLJ.

EXACTLY! These things are PERFECT for making my swiveling thigh mod. You use one arm and one thigh per leg to make the joint and it works like a charm. Oh man I need to get some of these..........

My digital camera is in the shop so pics will come when it is back. My Bulky Lee is flying formation with one of my F/A-18C "Hornet" 1/48 models in the living room downstairs (so people can see my addiction when they walk in the door). I am actually amazed at the size of the thing compared to the Hornet. They are almost the exact same length. Go figure. I was just wondering if anyone out there has put together a diorama (or simply put them out on the driveway) of your 1/48 next to some of your 1/48 model kits.... 99% of my jets are built with the landing gear in the retracted position so it makes "ramp poses" difficult, but perhaps others of us out there have them that way. I will put my Valks next to a pair of P-51s I have on my shelf when my camera comes back. I think that would be a nice shot. Anyone? Anyone?

Kevin needs to get some of these. I'm interested.........................

That's pretty much where I stand. TV 1/48s have my attention, but otherwise... ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz............................. Of course, everyone knows that by now..................but.........

I don't see how they can sell if it's the same boring stuff over nd over and over again..... That's my fear (that they'll stop before they get to Max).

It's unique in Macross terms, UNLIKE the stupid DYRL schemes. Please, gag me....they are so uninspiring as to make one want to wretch. Can anyone say, "BOOOOOOOOOOOORRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRING" by chance? My ranting has nothing to do with it. Yamato just has a different set of priorities, namely saving blue plastic or dumping excess inventory if nothing else.... I for one hope OE is correct in that the TV schemes are on the way soon...

...then don't buy 'em. Wait until Yamato or someone else releases the TV schemes. You were able to wait nearly 20 years for new valks. Waiting a little while longer for the TV versions wouldn't hurt now would it? It seems painfully apparent that Yamato has a fixation with DYRL schemes....thus there aren't going to be any TV schemes... And no, I won't be purchasing DYRL *ANYTHING*.

I wish you could have asked them why they're so darned addicted to DYRL schemes. How original of them.... They took the DYRL "A" and put a head for an "S" on it with some different decals. Woopie.... How about TV Max "J" or something unique like the Low Viz? These DYRLs are getting old....................and boring...................

Man, I for one cannot praise this thing enough (so far). My only complaints are the main landing gear doors are awfully tough to open and the head turret seam is glaringly obvious. Otherwise, this thing is really nice. I even think the weathering looks better in person than it does on the internet. It isn't as....harsh. I also would like to add that Yamato finally fixed the fargin' canopy. Works like a charm. All in all, I am glad I bought this sucker. NOW WILL SOMEONE PLEASE TAKE THIS DYRL HIKARU "A" OFF MY HANDS?

Well, it's good to be back. I guess I'll go ahead and revert to my old faithful nickname. I'm Skull-1 everywhere but MWorld, so..... I'll keep SandPebbleOne in the signature so people won't die of fright on me. You can still call me "SPO" if "SKO" is not as cool.

Yeah, when's the TV Max VF-1J coming out?
