  1. I wonder how this compares to the Masterpiece Replica's brass 1:1000 Enterprise D. For one that model is stated to be 27" long and 20.5" wide. Any idea which model is scaled more accurately? Here are 3 links I found for the Masterpiece Replica's brass 1:1000 Enterprise D. https://www.ebay.com/itm/222128386121 https://www.proxibid.com/Art-Antiques-Collectibles/Entertainment-Memorabilia/Masterpiece-Replicas-LE-BRASS-1-1000th-Scale-Star-Trek-The-Next-Generation-U-S-S-Enterprise-Model/lotInformation/29138195 https://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/masterpiece-replicas-limited-edition-1857916560 And some images. Carl
  2. May I ask what "your group" is? Is there a website I should monitor or can I request to be put on a notification list? Thanks, Carl
  3. Sorry I'm late to the game here. Anyone know if the story of Macross the Ride is available in English in any format? Thanks, Carl
  4. Just spotted this image from Lego. And I have a few questions... (1) Why does the southern hemisphere appear to be transparent? Am I seeing stars through the Earth? Those aren't city lights as South America is in daylight and many of those bright spots are out over the ocean. (2) What is that in the top right? Mars? Just how close do they think Mars is? (3) Where is the Sun? The part of Earth that is in shadow places it behind us to the right. The shadow of the lander and the part of Mars(?) in shadow places the Sun behind us and to the left. (4) Why is the sky blue? The moon has no atmosphere. I love Lego and just got this kit yesterday but this image is really bugging me. Carl
  5. Talk about lazy advertising... They state "Based on detailed study of the actual studio models" AND "Screen-accurate starfleet decals" twice is the same image. And one of the decal bullets points to the lighting of the warp nacelles which certainly doesn't appear to be a decal at all. I too like the idea of a build-your-own-Enterprise subscription but this one looks like they put about as much effort into it as their advertising. Carl
  6. Just saw this: https://shop.lego.com/en-US/product/Ford-Mustang-10265 Carl
  7. I ordered this off Amazon a couple days ago. It is back-ordered so I'm a little curious how long I'll have to wait but I'm in no rush. Based on what Sanity is Optional posted (below) I think the Omnibus Editions only contain the first 15 volumes. I don't have them myself so I cannot confirm but based on the little digging I've done I think he is correct. Carl
  8. The eyes didn't bother me at all. I thought it was a very well done effect. I have seen the movie but I haven't read the manga yet. That said I'm not certain what the explanation is that you refer to. But this does lead me to a question... is the only human part of her, her brain? I think the eyes could be explained by assuming they are the state of the art cybernetic eyes. I'm just not certain where we are suppose to assume the human parts stop and the machine parts begin. Visually one might also assume everything from the neck up is human but the two big problems I have with that are... (1) One needs another in-movie explanation for the eyes... and I think there may be a couple. (2) You'd be forced to wonder how an essentially decapitated head survived for 100s of years in that scrap pile. Carl
  9. I saw in it 3D IMAX and I can say the 3D effects were great. Certainly worth a few extra bucks. Carl
  10. Thanks TehPW and Sanity is Optional. I found this that I think appears to spell out the order: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Battle_Angel_Alita_chapters A couple more questions... (1) Is this the first nine volumes put into 5 books? https://www.amazon.com/Battle-Angel-Alita-Deluxe-Complete/dp/1632367114 The description states "This box set includes all five volumes of Battle Angel Alita plus a brand new book of short stories" (2) Is this collection of short stories https://www.amazon.com/Battle-Angel-Alita-Stories-Deluxe/dp/1632367106 a subset of what is in the 6th book of the deluxe box set? Or are these different short stories? (3) Is the Battle Angle Alita Last Order Omnibus https://www.ebay.com/itm/222784590302 all 19 volumes put into 5 books? The description calls them 5 volumes so I'm not certain its the whole thing.
  11. Hello, I saw the movie yesterday and really enjoyed it. I was unfamiliar with the source material going in and found myself wanting to read more. A quick scan of eBay and these are some of the sets I've found: https://www.ebay.com/itm/273672747764 https://www.ebay.com/itm/202548855352 https://www.ebay.com/itm/372552164436 https://www.ebay.com/itm/162605246332 https://www.ebay.com/itm/152638341208 https://www.ebay.com/itm/202593576406 https://www.ebay.com/itm/222784590302 Some say "Complete Series", some have "Last Order" in the title, but they all appear to be different lengths. Some are just 9 comics. But others are 5, 6, 7, 12, or 19 volumes. Can someone clue me in on what all the differences are? I'd like to read the original story in English and I'm currently not certain on what I should get. Also some questions about the movie... maybe some of these are answered in the source material:
  12. I like it. Any mention of who the maker is? Thanks, Carl
  13. Have you read the 2007 JMS World War Z script that was leaked on-line? That was much truer to the book and a 100x better then the script they ended up going with. Carl
  14. I'm in. Is this the thread to throw my hat in? Or the general Mospeada thread? I didn't see one specifically for this upgrade set project. Maybe I missed it.
  15. Not any more. I think I got the last Rey. Thanks so much for the link. They still have Stig (at the moment). Carl
  16. Just spotted this... is it too late to join? I was in on the original issue but being a huge fan I cannot pass on seeing what improvements are planned. So when do we see the Moscato Beta? Carl
  17. I too am in the LEGO VIP program with a little saved up due to the Saturn V model. I see several sites stating that 75192 UCS Millennium Falcon will go on sale September 14 to VIP members and go on sale to the general public on October 1st. I've not purchased something that was released early just for VIP members before. I also don't see anything about the September 14th release date when I log in on the LEGO site using my VIP login. Anyone know the exact procedure for ordering this on September 14th if they are a VIP member? Thanks, Carl
  18. There are modernized versions of all the variations in this Mospeada Dojin. From Comic Market 91 by Kurobousidan circle Here are the Rook and Lancer versions. If you can read the text would you be so kind as to post a translation? If anyone is interested in translating the entire Dojin (it is 16 pages) please contact me. Enjoy, Carl
  19. Is this actually available for pre-order somewhere? If so I'm in as well. Carl
  20. All, I'm a long time Macross Fan but life and work have kept me further way from Macross then I'd like for about a decade. I'm wanting to get caught up as I've missed most of Macross Frontier and Zero and I haven't seen any of Macross Delta yet. I would like to get some high quality copies on BluRay (4K is good too but I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere). I don't speak or read Japanese so I need some good English subtitles. I have looked and seen at least part of what is available but it has created a fair bit of confusion on my part. So some questions: I spotted this set on eBay http://www.ebay.com/itm/252755680153 which I think contains everything except Macross Delta. It sold and I don't see it available anywhere else. Can anyone point me to another source of this set? What exactly is this https://www.amazon.com/Macross-Zentora-mori-Blu-ray-Box/dp/B00DU6JES0 and how does it differ from this http://www.ebay.com/itm/252755680100 ? I searched the forums for "Macross F Zentora" and didn't get any hits. I see Macross Delta is available on BluRay but it appears to only be available in releases of 3 episodes at a time. Are there any box sets of the entire thing? If not I would hope that there is likely to be one eventually. Where is the 30th Anniversary set mentioned here http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/topic/44279-macross-f-30th-anniversary-box/ available? Or is this the Macross F Zentora set? I read somewhere that there were scenes edited (blurred out or cut) to remove gore or graphic scenes from the 30th Anniversary set. Is this true? I don't know if they were talking about the set I mention in (1) or (4) or both above. What is in this set that makes it so expensive http://www.ebay.com/itm/122149874063 ? I note Macross Plus on BluRay is just a small subset of what one gets in the 30th Anniversary set mentioned in (1) above and even that costs less then this set. I enjoy good artbooks too so those are certainly a plus but my main focus is to get high quality copies of the episodes with accurate English subtitles and ideally I would prefer they be unedited. Added content doesn't bother me near as much as removed content. This initially started off as an attempt to get caught up on Macross Zero, Frontier, and Delta but I don't have any of the rest on BluRay yet either so something like the set in (1) above sounds appealing, if it weren't for some of the editing comments I've read. So what set or sets would people here recommend? Thanks, Carl
  21. Is this the same thing? https://www.amazon.com/Macross-Zentora-mori-Blu-ray-Box/dp/B00DU6JES0 I don't see mention of 30th Aniversary, the box looks different, and the word Zentora in the title is throwing me for a loop. If not can you point me to where you got your box set? Thanks, Carl
