Gundam Figure Thread - Newtype GN-002

They remind me of the old MSIA line from the 90s. You could find those in US toy stores. Maybe we will see these in stores?- 6025 replies

After getting a few of the Robot Spirits ANIME line I can say they are much better quality and engineering from 5 years ago. Based on the pictures it looks like the Gundam Universe line will be the new entry level action figures for kids. The ANIME releases have a plethora of option and effects parts for dioramas or scenes from the series. Those are more for teen and adult collectors.- 6025 replies

I wanted a PO for Destiny also even though I am not a fan of the series. I like the suit design and I already have the Strike Freedom and Infinite Justice in the metal robot damashii line. Having the trio will fill out a display nicely. And like Alex GS said, they are much cheaper than the Metal Builds. The only suits I purchase from the metal build line are ones I really like. Which has been all of them except for the Freedom and Strike Freedom. Maybe Bandai is also limiting their production for MRD. They are available after release date but a week or two later are out of stock. Producing niche suits in this line like ones from Sentinel seems like a good idea. Small production run and higher quality for people that like a specific design. Plus it separates itself from the regular robot damashii line. I hoping to see the Zeta C1 Plus Hummingbirds in the MRD line at some point.

The new Destiny is Metal Robot Damashii and is closer to 1/144 verse Metal Build which is 1/100 scale. I am not surprised that they are doing another Destiny since Bandai already released the Strike Freedom and Infinite Justice in this line. Hopefully that will be the last of the Seed suits for this line so we can get more Sentinel designs.- 6025 replies

Let us know what you think. I was interested also for the axe and scythe heads. If the materials are good and the paint matches I will definitely pick up a set.

The robot damashii FAZZ units don't have die cast joints right? It is a shame there are so much, i would love to get three copies. Does have a copy? Are the stable or do they turn into a floppy mess?

Neon Genesis EVANGELION General Thread
General Rasp replied to no3Ljm's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Very excited to re-watch this series. I have the DVDs but the blu rays were never available in the states. And once the rebuild movies were made that was all they were making. The first time I watched the series was on rented DVDs from Netflix. When Netflix was just a DVD rental service, and now the circle continues with re-watching the series streaming HD.- 1000 replies

Can not wait for the Hy-gogg to be released next month. My PW at HLJ is waiting for my two pre-orders to arrive. I looks like they setup a huge display of the Robot Spirits at the show but there haven't been a ton of pictures posted.

I want all of them!! Looks like the Full Armor Alex is going to be P-Bandai but I am wondering if it includes the Alex gundam or if it is just an option set. So happy they are doing the Kampfer!! Hopefully pre-orders are up soon and it is a general release. I will stay up to get one. And if they are moving into 0083 next then they have me hooked. Stardust is one of my favorite series. I would love a squad of Marine Geloogs, Chima's, and Gato's. Plus they can do the GM Customs, need all three, and the Guncanon II. Definitely going to be a line I keep up with.

Well, two more Metal Builds to add to the "Buy" list. So happy they are doing Great Mazinger. That is going to be an awesome display with Metal Build Mazinger. And after the white Astrea, are their any more Exia variants they could do or are they finally done? I think Bandai got their moneys worth out of the Exia frame/mold.

Definitely in for two. I like the proportions of Battroid mode and the fighter mode looks great. Hopefully this will help pay for more destroids later.

The Infinite Justice just came in yesterday. This release has much better tolerance with the joints than the Strike Freedom. That one was very tight and difficult to pose the legs. I felt I was stressing the plastic trying to move the joints sometimes. The Justice can keep the pose and move easily. Good balance also with the body, it can stand by itself with the backpack down. I also like how the backpack attaches to the body. There are four points of connection when the backpack is upright, and you don't need the stand to support the flight unit. Unless it is disconnected from the body. And I have never seen so many beam effect parts for one figure. Very happy with the Justice and hopefully I can pose both on an Action Base 4 or 5.- 6025 replies

The Infinite Justice just came in yesterday. Also loving the GM Cold Type from the A.N.I.M.E line. The elbows and calf have hidden panels that get sucked in for crazy poses. It remains me of the Sentinel releases but something you can handle easily. I want to pick another two. Can't wait for the Kamfper and Z-Gok E, both would be awesome to see in this line. Looking forward to the Hy-Gogg and GM Sniper II. And totally agree that there should 0083 suits in this line. I highly recommend the Cold Type to anyone that like 0080 or GMs.

I do like the amount of metal showed off in the video and the locking mechanism for the binder arm. I wonder how good the plastic quality is.

Seriously considering getting one. It looks like a great piece but is it $260 great?

I pre-ordered the VF-1J since the price was very reasonable considering what current Macross toys are going for and it will be a hot item. After watching the transformation video it looks really fun and something you can pose without worrying about fragile pieces. This is a great start to Bandai's 1/48 line and can't wait to see the VF-1S.
