i havent watched the macross TV series for a while now (i bought the animeigo set when they first came out and i only watched it once). i noticed that on the episode when macross and britai went to war against the main fleet that the drawings were so well done on that episode (episode 27 Love Drifts Away, disc 7). and after that episode the drawings stay consistently good. is it because they didnt hired good artists til later in the series or what's up? just curious. had they used the good artists through out the whole show, i think macross would be more popular (i think?). maybe i am just being picky, but wouldnt that be great? kyatsu

i always checked the for sale site and asked some sellers about their valks. and if you do it often enough (which was not my intention. i did it because i wanted a good price for it.) someone will noticed that and if they have something to sell, they may approach you. that's how i ended up with the max. kyatsu ps it's no big deal fellow so cal dude. i just want you to know that you dont have to be desperate and buy something in a unreasonable price. bought it from a member here on MW. he noticed that i was looking for a valk 1/48 and asked what i wanted. gave me a very good deal for it. if you post a wanted list on MW, someone may offer you a good deal. i am very happy with the max cuz it's in such a wonderful shape and i think i am done collecting valks for now. you know, 4 valks in one month (not saying i am short of cash, but i think i am happy with what i have). i really dont care for the cannon fodder, so i can wait. and also, with a lot of complaints from macross zero VF-0S, i really rather wait til the improvements. and one more thing, MW sellers are cool. you just have to check the blacklist and SSL to be sure that they are legit too. all three of my purchases were great and i am very happy that i ran across these three sellers. peace, kyatsu Hey Kyatsu - Where'd you get the VF-1A Max? 1. single 2. i buy what i like only. what i own so far: 1/48 VF-1S roy with fastpack, 1/48 VF-1S hikaru with fastpack, 1/48 VF-1A max(oh yeah), 1/48 VF-1J hikaru with armor, and last but not least VF-1J super stealth. and all of the macross plus valks 3. i just went on a shopping spree this month. i just bought four valks (VF-1A max, 2VF-1S hikaru (i bought one for my friend cuz he didnt have the cash) and VF-1J super stealth). this is how i see it. if you just buy what you really need and save money, then you will have enough cash flow for emergency for things that might pop up in the future that you might need or want. kyatsu

dude, you got a hikaru VF-1S and no FP? it's like hikaru naked, man! i know what you are going through dude. when i purchased my first 1/48 (it was a roy) and i didnt have a FP, it looked good. but once i found a deal for the FP and i put it on the valk, it looked awesome. so, my advice to you, go get it and you will love it and you will forget all about the rest unless it's the classic bandai 1/55 such as seeker and ostrich (not those are priceless). peace, kyatsu Right now I only have two 1/48's, the other being a Hikaru VF-1S. I'm debating whether to upgrade it to fast pack ... or just wait to save for either the GDB armour or another 1/48 valkyrie instead. Tough decisions ahead .... hi takatoys, i am just curious if you can make a decal with the macross symbol (kite) in black similar to what yamato had for the YF-11B for the super stealth? i think that would look cool. the super stealth might look good with the regular color (red) macross symbol, but i am just curious to see if everyone else feel the same as me? kyatsu

i just received the super stealth from LOS. took only two days to deliever from tex to cali. all in all, this is probably one of my fav valk. i do notice that the right flap is kind of loose, but not that bad. and the missles from the fastpack seem a little loose too. a few scratches on both wings. but all in all, it's not that bad. i will just have to ask my friend to help me tighten up the missles and the flap. also, i like the box for the super stealth. it is made from a heavier cardboard compare to the box of the other valks. it's big, but it's very nice. peace, kyatsu

hey V4lkyri3, you used a mechanical pencil with B lead to outline your valk? how does it look? does it look pretty good? and how come you need cotton buds and alcohol? to wipe out excessive lead? kyastu

when you said ordinary brush, is it like very thin brush? and how long did it take to apply the stickers? kyatsu then with an ordinary paint brush apply everywhere there is a panel line ect.

i will be totally honest with you. i am not good at customizing it. when you really have time, can you break it down as how you do it? step by step? i dont want to mess up a fine stealth valk due to my lack of experience. if you can do that, i ( and the rest) will really appreciate it. also, i cant wait to see it tomorrow. kyatsu I surely will, but I got anxious and touched the paint before it was ready. I decided to strip it off and start over because I left a finger and thumb print on the base of each laser - D'OH! dude, please let me know what kind of paint you use to repaint the VF-1S head. once i get mind, i might do that too or paint the grey part that i dont like to black (like the nose cone of the valk). for some reason, i think that should be black. i can be totally wrong, but that's what i feel. kyatsu
