Vermillion21, i just started to collect the 1/48 this year. it's not about being behind. it's about spending money wisely. heck, i am sure we missed out on the VF-1J max and miria, but i think the super stealth VF-1J is way cool and it's a good substitute. anywho, somewhere later on the road, someone might be selling a valk that you like and maybe he or she will give you a good deal. beside, we like in so cal so you know how damn expensive it is just to pay rent, gas (vehicle gas), go out money, etc. so, we really have to watch our spending. even if you and i make good dough, it's still smart to spend smart because sooner or later, we have to buy a property and that's gonna hurt if we dont have money for it, right? take care fellow so cal resident, kyasu

where i used to work before, i had unicorn, the dinobots, joke machine vf-1a displayed on my table. it was nice and all at first, but then people started to play with it more and more. it sucks because i just want the toys at work, but no privacy and i was afraid someone would jack my joke machine vf-1a. so, i decided to take that piece home and leave the rest. there was one guy that always played with my toys. i dont know what's up with him. i know that he is crazy about transformers and he has them at home, but why does he want to play with mine is something i am still confused til this day , kyatsu

well, one thing is for sure, you will get a superior picture quality from the animeigo set. i heard the adv set is horrible. kyasu

yo fifbeat, i dont think there's a review on the armor yet. but one thing that i can tell you that it's very cool. i am not sure ifyou wanna get the regular VF-1J or the stealth VF-1J (the valk alone) or the super stealth VF-1J. i think the super stealth VF-1J is really awesome. and imagine if you put the armor on it, wouldnt it be cool? i already have both VF-1Js, but had i known about the super stealth before i purchased the regular VF-1J, i would have hold off on that and just bought the super stealth and the armor. kyatsu

go for VF-1J? cuz i think they will re-issue the armor more than the valk. kyatsu

you can either wait and get a better version or rush in and get a version that lots of people have problems with my friend. you can cave in to temptation or be wised and wait for improvement. if the super stealth is gonna be re-issue later on, i would have waited. since i or we dont know that and i have a bad feeling it probably wouldnt, that's why i bought it. my super stealth does have some problems like: the right wing flap is loose and the missles (FP missles) are also loose. but since it's only for display, i can over look the problems. but you know, when you spend your hard earn cash, you want the good stuff. get what i mean? kyatsu ps if you have been watching yamato's pattern. i am so sure they will re-issue the VF-0S again and again just like the VF-1S roy. how many roy have they re-issue? like 5 or 6 times already, so dont sweat it. i finally saw macross tv series again (the animeigo version) from disc 6 to disc 9. when i first bought the set (four years ago)and watched it, i was a little disappointed from the episode after the big battle. i think i expected more from it like more crazy fighting and stuff. so, several days ago i was bored, so i decided to watch it again. i kind of appreciate the show a little more because it kind of show that battle is not all that great and there's more to life than war. i kind of think that macross is actually a good show if you cut out the inconsistency of the drawing quality (you really have to ignore that). when i was a kid growing up in thailand, i saw the macross tv series (the real deal, not robotech) from the beginning til the episode that max and miria was about to get married. but then my grades were slipping and my grandma scolded me and i wasnt allowed to watch any tv til the summer. so, i really never watched the whole entire show til my college year when a friend let me borrow the robotech macross series. i really didnt like the robotech macross series at all. i kind of fast forwad most of the episodes. i think i am really glad to be able to own the actual japanese dub version of macross. this set is just priceless. kyasu

i am not sure what kind of toys you are looking for verm, but from my experience if you want something poseable, you wanna go with yamato. if you want something classic (stiff and not as poseable as the yamato, but still cool enough to leave in fighter mode, gerwalk or maybe a stand stiff battroid), then you can go with bandai. it's all depend on what you want buddy. i bought a re-issue of 1/55 bandai VF-1J three yrs ago. i really wanted this toy when i was a kid. back when i was living in thailand, my mom only got me one toy (orguss, the main character's robot). she didnt buy me any macross and whenever i stop by the mall, i always see the VF-1J and i felt sad. so, back to what i was saying, i finally bough the toy and took it out of the box and then put it back in the box and stored it away since. i think i realized then that it's a cool toy, but it's not the same as the yamato 1/48. i really like the yamato 1/48 due to the detail and articulation of the toy. so, it's all how you feel about the toy. i am just giving you my honest opinion. kyatsu

very well done and affordable. when i have all of my toys put together (not all macross), i will need something that size to display them. two thumbs up dyno and i am happy you have your super stealth now. you must be lovin it, huh? i think it's gonna be one of the classics in the near future if they dont over release it. kyatsu
