    VF-11B FP hands?

OK this is embarrassing. I just transformed my VF-11B FP for the first (!) time. My question is: is this thing supposed to come with extra hands to hold the gunpod? The only ones I got are molded solid. If not, how does one get the figure to hold the gun? Couldn't find anything about this in the pinned threads or the reviews. Now I'm afraid the solution is going to be so obvious that it's going to make me feel stoopid.
  2. That Gerwalk looking mecha in the 10th and 12th pics in the second post reminds me of the Southern Cross Logan. What is it?
  3. I don't mind it being smaller, as long as scale is reasonably accurate. Gives it a more convincing sense of realism.
  4. I'm actually excited that it is 1/48 scale. Should look great next to the Yamato 1/48 Valkyries.
  5. Yeah, I hope the Hikaru Super VF-1J is also reissued. Missed out on that one and the after market prices are ridiculuous.
  6. Nah. Those are all probably returns for defects.
  7. I liked it. Made me wish I got the chance to go to Yale.
  8. I'm getting scary flashbacks of Yamato's Escaflowne...
  9. Yeah, but i think the problem with Toynami's Alpha was not the scale or size but the fact that it was based on said model kit. Yamato would sculpt it from the ground up so any structural problems that stemmed from being based on model kit shouldn't apply. And again, there's that 1/48 scale Beta to think about.
  10. I think I'm gonna be the prophet this time. The new toy from Yamato based on a transforming mecha from an 80's anime is going to be - wait for it - the VF-1 VALKYRIE ... ...or maybe the SDF MACROSS
  11. Spartas Hovertank, AJACS or Logan from Southern Cross?
  12. I too am hoping for reissues of these WITH FAST Packs. Wouldn't make sense to buy these without them. Agreed. If 1/60 scale for the Alpha/Legioss is too small, then I think 1/48 scale would be perfect, which would be another reason to hold on to your 1/48 VF-1's. Although when you dream up the ideal scale for an Alpha/Legioss toy, remember to factor in the resulting size of a Beta/Tread in the same scale. A 1/35 scale Beta/Tread would be HUGE. Bad example there. The MSIA line is notorious for being, for all intents and purposes, non-scale or, at best, an odd 1/170 scale. And I'm sure you've read by now about Bandai's announcement of 1/100 scale GFF and 1/144 scale HCM-Pro figures. Anyway, I hope that the YF-19 that comes bundled with the Fold Booster will address the minor problems found in the first release.
  13. I would, but I'll bet shipping to the Philippines would be a pain.
  14. Hmmm. As it is now, that half of the head that popped off doesn't fit flush with the central part anymore. When you pop it on without glue, the rear part is "elevated" slightly. So I sand down until it fits flush with the rest of the head, to the extent that it won't stay on unless glue is applied? (Hope I'm still making sense)
  15. Looks like Gundam Maxter.
  16. Thanks. What should I use to apply the glue? Toothpick? Cotton buds? If I sand down the broken part, where exactly should I dab the glue?
  17. Oops! Sorry about that! It's a reissue 1/48 Yamato VF-1A Hikaru. Edited the original post.

If you all feel that strongly about the green color, somebody should post a clear photoshopped picture showing what you want. Remember all the fuss about the mint green on the Low Vis. GBP? After someone photoshopped it without the mint green, the colors on the production model mysteriously changed. I'm not saying that Yamato will automatically do it just because people on this board want it, but its worth a shot. You never know who's lurking here...

Along a similar line of argument, maybe those wanting an "SOC"-style diecast VF-1 Valkyrie are nagging the wrong company. Perhaps the best hope for diecast Macross toys lies, not with Bandai's SOC' line, but in CM's Brave Gokin line.
  20. How do I explain this? Well, basically, half of my reissue Yamato 1/48 VF-1A Hikaru's head just popped off! Brand new straight out of the box, too! Upon inspection, it looks like one of the pegs holding it to the central part of the head broke. Not sure if it was an actual peg or if it was just glue that wasn't applied in enough quantities. Actually, the half does pop right back on, and it pretty much stays on if your not too rough with the toy, but it doesn't sit as "flush as I would like. I've decided I can't be bothered to return it, so I'm going to attempt to repair it myself. However, I've never done this before, so I was hoping to get some tips. What kind of glue should I use? Are there any special precautions I'm supposed to take?

Will you all stop giving Yamato ideas for even more repaints?! I can't keep up anymore!!!

Couldn't Yamato just do what Hot Toys does and develop the 1/60 scale Monster as a fully-prepainted, snap-together, "kit?" Since it doesn't transform, there shouldn't be as many moving parts to worry about. I understand selling and packaging it as a kit will also result in lower customs duties in some jurisdictions (?). Hot Toys has done really well with this strategy, particularly with the suspiciously Monster-looking ED-209.

I don't understand what Yamato is trying to do with this color scheme. Maybe its a test shot using multi-colored left over plastic?
  24. Yeah, but wouldn't it be neat if it was in scale with all the new Macross stuff coming out? And at that smaller scale, a Beta may not be as difficult to make.
  25. Actually, slightly smaller Alpha's, maybe around 1/60 scale, with less diecast, would probably be a good idea for Toynami to consider.
