  1. There's a new Technical Readout out, Project Phoenix. It has updated versions and new art for all the "unseen" mechs that don't cry out for legal action. It's pretty interesting how all the designs are changed.
  2. Vostok, there are two LAM's in that book, a modified Stinger LAM and a modified Phoenox Hawk LAM. They are both destroyed in the fight with Horse's Thor and the Warhammer IIC.
  3. ALPS printers are really good, but they are no longer made and trying to find one for a reasonable price is real tough. Any others out there???
  4. Now if I hadn't just got my computer back from being repaired I could have gotten in on this. I knew most of those answers too. BTW, Danguard was right. Far Country and Freebirth are the only books that LAM's are involved in.
  5. No it's not. Looks like a red Super Ostrich to me (look at the head and how many seats in the cockpit).
  6. Mine is about a year old too. No yellowing on mine at all, but then again it doesn't get any direct sunlight. BoB, you live in SEA right???
  7. BTW, kinda off topic but I heard that the Binaltech Smokescreen has real problems with paint chips around the shoulders and by the doors. Is that true???
  8. My brother and I each scored a Smokescreen at TRU Shaumburg, IL yesterday. It is definately worth a $20.00 investment. BTW, Alternator Smokescreen's transformation and robot mode is exactly like G1 Smokescreen's right down to the 180 degree hip turn and how the arms are folded. The only difference is the feet require an extra step and the head pops out of the hood differently. My brother has the TRU Smokescreen and we were comparing them last night.
  9. I once did a drawing of a retractable bayonet similar to one I saw on an old SKS rifle that retracted into a slim bulge under the barrel of the gunpod. Basically it was mounted flat side up (90 degrees from Mechamanic pic) and extended out from the end of the barrel. I'll have to findit and post of a scan of it here, it looked pretty cool.
  10. Ok, it's officially Christmas and no word from Mechamaniac. I hope everything went well for him last night.
  11. Does anyone know a reliable program, besides bablefish, that could translate a page in Japanese into English?? I haven't heard many nice things about the reliability of bablefish.
  12. In other words, micromissles similar to the missles in the boosters
  13. Roy, me and a few others on the first page were just joking about lethal elf control methods, although I'm not quite sure about Agent One's suggestion though, he might have been serious .
  14. Yup, they fixed it. Thanks for the pics Chowser.
  15. Ok, that second tank is definately a Jagdtiger. The first one might be a either a T-34 or a PzKw III (not sure about the spelling) from WW2.
  16. johnh, just a suggestion but you might want to try using a rubber washer under the screw on the neck. It sounds like either the post the screw is going into is too long or the hole in the neck piviot piece is oversized. The washer might help add friction to the neck to make it more posable. The only concern I would have is not getting one too thick so that the screw sticks out too much. Anyone else have any idea???
  17. Did they fix the wings on the second release. My VF-1S has a really messed up "001", it's oversize and appears to be a little blurry. Also the border around the kite on the other wing is way too thick compared to my VF-1A Hikaru.
  18. Strangely enough, the usual suspects have been absent lately and hopefully the ones in the Movies folder learned their lessons after a couple of them got banned.
  19. There are a couple kits that have the "Spirit of America" flag art on the nose. Actually, thinking about it I think the only kit that doesn't have it is the Revell-Germany 1/72 and the Italeri 1/72 kits (although it might be an option on those kits)
  20. Ok, since I build a lot of models like those, if you want the scheme to replicate the missle in the pic, use Light Ghost Grey for the body and fins, black for the nose and brown/yellow/red for the various details. Up until the early 1990's, the US was still using white missle bodies with silver fins on AIM-9's so the scheme would depend on the time period involved. EDIT: spelling

    Custom 1/48 CF

Great job Jung. That valk would rule with TV or DYRL FAST packs installed. Now Yamato reps, take a good look at Jung fighter. We want one just like it.
  22. Nah, that's a bad tactic. Just put a good scope on a rifle, and smile (just joking ). Seriously, you might want to consider involving the police in this if your safety could be threatened.
  23. Italeri has a 1/48 and a 1/72 F/A-22 model currently out. Testors has a re-packaged Italeri 1/48. Revell-Germany also has a F/A-22 1/48 (supposedly with LANTRIN pods???) and a 1/72 model out. Revell-Monogram has a F/A-22 1/48 coming out (probably the Revell-Germany kit repackaged, the two companies routinely use each other's molds). I believe that Hasegawa is going to have at least one, I'm not sure what scales they will be using. I still build models, so I keep as current as possible.
  24. Aegis, any ideas on how the shoulder armor pieces lock onto the shoulders?? I can't imagine why they would just let them stay on the shoulders without some kind of attachment.
