In defence of the Animeigo art, Garoquel was initially going to do something much more colorful &...good! But apparently AnimEigo wanted the black covers with neon line art. I'm guessing it had something to do with HG, but who know's.

I know Zero takes place years before. My point is, early on in 5 during one of the cinema's, it's discussed after examining some of the downed enemy planes that they're cheap reproductions, or something to that effect. Implication being that those designs had already been around for years, and possably during the period of the previous war.

Ha! Actually, I blew it earlier in the conversation when I mentioned how my fiancée and I plan on playing Ai Oboete Imasu Ka at our wedding. I felt guilty because my girl really wanted to be there that night, but was home sick. Here's the really amusing part, though: As I was talking to the lovely Ms. Iijima, her assistant/friend (who took the pictures) made a comment about Mari finally finding that boyfriend she was looking for. It was definitely a night to remember, and I got her to sign some original SDF Macross scene cards as well as a few of her albums. After the utter fiasco that was the New York Comic Con (or wasn't, in my case, as I was told the place was beyond capacity when I arrived that morning and had to wait in a 2 hour line for a chance to get my refund and go home... ), I was determined not to make the day a total waste, so I hiked right back to Manhattan that night for the concert. Why should AC0 use older planes? Weren't most of the enemy planes in 5 supposed to be some kind of bootleg reproductions of already existing fighter desgins? Stands to reason Zero would feature superior production models.

Perhaps, but considering nearly 50 years has passed in the canon chronology, more than likely their meeting of any nearly extinct Protoculture would result in them being part of some grander scheme test on humanity. Humans just barely half ass passed the AFOS test, just barely survived the Protodevelin, and just barely saved the Ginga Kujira. All of thsee events could be construed as luck. Besides, after so many years, who's to say any remnants of the Protoculture would be the same as when they were nearly whiped out. Could be some crazed militant faction who either forgot who they once were, or no longer cared. There does afterall have to be a source of conflict.

For the record, don't forget Mari is single, & loves snoopy. So bring a Snoopy Doll & flowers to any showings, and that will almost certainly amplify your chances at some ass.

If I recall, most sentient life in the galaxy was wiped out at the end, with the protodevlin war. And there might still be some protoculture left. The chronology's last mention of them says "near annihilation of Protoculture". Once their interstellar network and central government collapsed, it would be a lot harder to track down all the outlying colonies. So there could be a few protoculture worlds off in the far side of the Milky Way. Very likely, or at least likely some additional Protoculture influenced worlds. The Zolan's have already been found afterall. Come to think of it, the way the AFOS left, and the way the Ginga Kujira left weren't entirely dissimilar, perhaps both were pieces of a test to finding the remaining Protoculture? I still say Sara & Shin will pop up in the next Macross Project..

..I managed to stop myself from picking up the flight stick bundle with 5, but don't know if I can resist it with Zero...hopefully there won't be one!

Ah. I admit I did not sit through the whole thing. I recall the song being used at the beginning. As a matter of fact the VHS tape I had had the end cut off so I could not have heard it during the end credits. In any case, I don't reccommend this version over the ADV version. If you have the Robotech version in English already then, again, I don't see too much to reccommend this one. 382087[/snapback] It's more there as a novelty than anything, I don't think anyone's going to watch it in lieu of the Japanese audio (or adv dub..) with any regularity, especially since it's just the one episode included.

The old HG dub song is there, but only during the end credits.

I still don't see how some of you can call 7 kiddy just because of the presence of bright colors....it's anime, of course there are bright colors! 7 got quite dark when it needed to be.
