Man... this is some great information you guys! Now all I need to do is look up some of your terms (AFOS, Ginga Kujira (?), etc.). What else are some good sites to look at? On another note: I got my SDF Macross collection and Macross Plus in the mail today! Gotta love eBay!

i appreciate all the help you guys! as for the SDF Macross set that I bought, it is the original copy! it's all nine volumes in a nice box which even includes the holographic card that came with it. interestingly, the guy put it at a $49.99 buy it now price tag. i guess i was looking at the right time, because once i saw that price, i had to get it! i just can't wait for it to come. it should be coming on monday. i went on this complete Macross binge, as I have already purchased Zero, the original macross series, Flashback 2012, 20th anniversary special, AND Plus. I'm looking forward to watching Plus on my surround sound system...

damn...so what exactly is protoculture? or should i just watch the original series?

thanks you guys! it's helping me out a lot. i never watched the original series (BUT i should receive it on monday since i bought the whole SDF Macross series for only 50 bucks!!). BUT, i did watch some episodes of Robotech, but i don't count that. the only ones i have seen were macross: DYRL, zero, and plus. Plus is my all-time favorite (another bragging moment: i bought the dvd for $6.50 off ebay!). also, is shin a birdman? why do sara and shin both leave to space? and are the birdmen the same as zentraedi?

Just finished watching all of Macross Zero... but i'm still confused! Can someone please explain how Zero is related to the original series? it'll be so helpful! thanks
