  1. Just be glad it's not "catastrophe." I also loved the backstory, very Xenogears.
  2. Voyager killed ST, plain and simple. Too much borg, too much Janeway, too much Chakotay. The organ doner aliens were weak, species 1234567 were weak, and the one interesting plot point they did have, i.e. fixing the ship up with borg technology & killing off a substancial number of the crew, they broke with more time travel! 36DD of 9 was too little too late of a last ditch effort to "patch" the show an audience, and that's where I left. I don't know how it ended, and I don't care how it ended. Also, Neelix was ST's Jar Jar, and hell, I almost successfully blocked him out. Voyager was "cool," but clearly, they saw what B5 was doing, and jumped on the "me too" bandwagon when they tossed in the Dominion War & decided to make Captain Hawk part of some legendary epic battle. The show had potential, but B5 was always a step ahead, and always did it better. As for NG, one thing, and one thing only needed to be fixed on that show. They should have always used military style uniforms instead of the stupid pajama's. It's hard to take a luxurybattleship crew serious when they're wearing their pajama's every day. If they had gone with a slight update on the ST movie naval uniforms, or if they had been smart enough to think up the later season/NG movie uniforms sooner, that show would have been so much better. Also, too much Q. It's hard to take any threat of the week serious when you know there's Q out there that can either fix or break all of existence. Some truly great cliffhangers though. Data's head in a cave? Awesome. Picard captured by the borg? How many here were hoping that Rike would take over and have to actually kill him (pussy-ass american writing wouldn't allow that though). Enterprise-C? That show had cliffhangers in the bag. And Enterprise, I never watched a single episode. Voyager left me so disgusted with the franchise, that I didn't go back to it for years. Hell, I only got around to seeing Insurrection & Nemesis like 3-4 years ago. But JJ Trek was f^ckin' awesome. That's the ST I want to see continue in the future....with a real engine room instead of a brewery though.
  3. Not enough hot panther chick action, but still pretty good.
  4. That's hilarious, but needs "now this is pod racing" at the end.
  5. I'd actually seen Innocence (and the original) years ago, but I liked it better this time, slow yes, but I walked in already knowing that. The GitS 2.0 annoyed me to hell with all of its new red & cheap CGI. I understand he wanted it to mesh visually better with Innocence, but changing all of the green to red & adding in unnecessary CG didn't cut it. Yet another movie has been "Lucas'd"
  6. "Talking" dolphin wearing scuba gear.
  7. I just watched all 3 Gits SAC movies + both Oshii Gits movies. Good, but some coffee was definately required
  8. I wasn't big on Fringe at first, it just seemed like too much of an X-Files knock-off. Then I realized how much better & more consistent it was with its mythos than the X-Files ever was. Did I mention how much I hate the X-Files for backtracking on everything once Duchovney left? Talk about a way to ruin a series. I'm surprised no one's mentioned Red Dwarf yet.
  9. Was she fantastic & made of plastic?
  10. At this point, I've got non-anamorphic Definative Collection LD rips on DVD, & the 2004 edition + 2006 non-anamoprhic official Definative Collection LD masters on DVD. What do they all have in common? They look like crap upscaled. Hell or high water, I'm getting the bluray release too for the HD "pew pew" & "phwooom" action.
  11. Looks pretty fun.
  12. I'm still waiting for someone to dub that clip with Cleavland's bathtub crashing out of his house. Ok, now watch this muted. Then play this! PERFECT!!!
  13. Technically it's still there, but they used an alternate take with different dialogue.
  14. I wasn't talking about the dragon
  15. It was interesting, but I wasn't impressed with it. The ending pretty much killed it for me
  16. Very nice nod there, so much love is going into this show it almost seems too good to be true.
  17. At this point, whatever. As long as all the blasters & light sabers aren't replaced with walkie talkies, then I'm still in. Honestly, after reading the responses to it, it wasn't "as bad" as I was expecting, at least not as bad as Luke's scream in 97 edit Empire, which is what I was expecting. I was far more bothered by the removal of Luke's dialogue about R2 not tasting good, and even that I've gotten over. As jwasko said, I understand the purpose behind the change, and it's not like those "no's didn't cost them an arm and a leg to get JEJ back in there to record. I just wish Lucas would have overdubbed the one little thing in SW that truly needs overdubbing. EVERY SINGLE LINE OF DIALOGUE THAT JAKE LLOYD SPEWS OUT." If they swapped that out with the dialogue of a kid who could act, Phantom Menace would be 10 times better.
  18. Because a show isn't truly good unless it's impossible to get an unf^cked with version with a good subtitle translation that's compatable on whatever regional hardware that you have. Sure we've gotten Gunbuster on DVD, but they messed up the audio on episode 1, and episode 6 isn't anamorphic. Then we got the Gunbuster movie on bluray, but it's missing over hafl the OVA content, though it does have a fully anamorphic episode 6.
  19. Unfortunately, the U.S. arm of Honneamis doesn't exist anymore, and Bandai Entertianment has only really put out Gundam because BV is including the English subs. I'd write B.E., but I keep having some problem with their customer service script that won't let me send in another inquirry.
  20. It's definately not worth cancelling over, just disappointing since they do have the materials on hand.
  21. Is that why HG will only reveal things at cons? After the panels I bet they drag the "true believers" into a screening room to preview the "real" top secret new Robotech footage, dubs of Frontier
  22. Earth Final Conflict was too much of a clusterf^ck to consider as good.
  23. Same exact AnimEigo remaster for Macross, & ADV remaster for Southern Cross and Mospeada, complete with the shitty new sound effects. As for that poster, Pierre Bernard should sue them for using his terminology for each "robotech war" lol. Poor Alto.
  24. lol
  25. -Gunbuster -Nadia -Eva -Kare Kano -Love & Pop -Shikijitsu -Cutie Honey (& Re:) -Eva Rebuild Anno is full of all 11 kinds of awesome, I don't know what you could possibly have against him.
