  1. Satisfying endings, hmm: -Gunbuster -Gurren Lagann -Nadia -Megazone 23 Part 2 (note, not 3!) -Orguss -Eureka Seven -Great Teacher Onizuka -Galaxy Express 999 (movies + TV series) -Irresponsible Captain Tylor (TV & Tylor's War, only to be ruined by the incomplete last OVA series) -Mahoromatic -School Rumble (ionce you come to turns with it being the only real ending that could have happened there) -Votoms (even if it did heavily rip-off 2001, such an awesome battle leading up to the end) -Wings of Honneamise -Yamato 1 & 2 (especially the knock down drag out brawl with the comet empire that would shape shows like DBZ for years to come). Note I've left out obvious things like various Macross & Gundam series.
  2. Should work out okay. I read up on cdjapan's requested item info, and it looks like they may actually be ordering direct from Bandai's store. So far the only recent bluray set's I've heard having english subs are the Haruhi Suzumiya complete set, the Haruhi chan/nyoro~n churuya chan set, Gundam Unicorn, Gundam Age, & the new Gundam SEED HD set's all have english subs. There are more like Big O & Paranoia Agent which have dubs (but no subs), but subs are still few & far between.
  3. I barely understand what any of that means. Is it some kind of cellphone or facebook type game?
  4. Yeah, the tv setdoes have an LE version.
  5. Isn't AmiAmi offering a better price? Ah, nevermind, I see you posted you got the regular version. Regardless, there's no reason a shop should blacklist a customer for canceling a pre-order, that's just crazy.
  6. Hey guys http://www.cdjapan.c...KEY=NEODAI-1886 GET SOME!! Keep refreshing if it says it's sold out, looks like they're adding numbers into the system now. Looking at the listing and item number, it's actually a seperate item # from the first listing. Notice the price + service fee mentioned, and it looks like neowing/cdjapan wisely chose to order some extra inventory through amazon, then bump it up to their regular price. However they're doing it, it's win for us.
  7. Maybe they're lying to him and when the movie comes out he'll have a full CG armored body..
  8. That's what I'm talkin' about, since they've been included in every release so far, I hope they're not stripped out in favor of making them LE exclusives.
  9. Exactly, though I'm sure the rights to robocop at this point are cheaper than the ones to a gits movie...
  10. I just hope the full vita game (not announced, but come on) hits by September. We know they have enough done to do full Macross TV, DYRL, & Frontier campaigns (ok, they need to model the VF-171 & EX, but still), so all they really need are to do models for Plus, 7, & II campaigns (+ some extra odds & ends that are more variations than entirely new models). Basically, I can totally see them having a finished full game by September/October. Gundam SEED Battle Destiny will hold me over for a bit, but I still want a full Macross game. On the bluray side of things, I hope they wait a bit before releasing Plus & 7, and for gods sake, please keep all the regular 7 extra's in the standard edition of that set!
  11. That's just stupid. He's robocop, not regular cop!
  12. CDJapan is just the export side, neowing is the domestic part of the business that the pre-orders booked up on. Honestly, I'm not sure why they aren't all going for amazon's deals either, I can only assume it's shop loyalty.
  13. To be fair, that story oriignated in the manual for the Saturn/PS1 DYRL game. I'd consider Frontier's colony fleet tracking to be higher canon in this case.
  14. Since someone asked earlier, here was the response I got from AmazonJP And here's the response I just got from CDJapan regarding their pre-order allocations: And that's actually a great reply, I had no idea pre-order info was fed into the neowing/cdjapan system directly by the manufacturer's. Although if I worked there, and was savy about the famitsu announcement I would have made damn sure to get those fields filled in for importers, but that's me. Regardless it looks like most avenues are indeed closed for the LE version. I don't expect play-asia will be able to get any at MSRP at this point, though they may do what yesasia is assumedly doing, and get their stock from amazonJP while jacking up the pre-orders to account for profit & additional shipping. Can't really fault any of them there either. I just wish Bandai Visual would kick up the stock on these seeing how fast pre-orders are filling up. Likely the amiami orders that keep popping up have to do with people who decided to cancel their pre-orders.
  15. How many clearance sales has that wal-mart had on transformers & clone wars toys? I just think it's too soon to predict doom.
  16. Uh huh, thought so. I'll stick with Global on this, thanks!
  17. Interesting, details? And have you heard of anyone doing this with the PS3 version (would prompt me to actually finish the game).
  18. That surei s one pretty TV box, and the color detail in that shot looks great as well.
  19. That's just it. The cascading failures in the Macross don't appear to be intentional effects of the boobytrap. The Supervision Army didn't imagine their ship would be backwards engineered. And don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to claim Earth's engineers weren't at fault for negligence, just not the level of negligence you're implying. "someone" didn't fully debug or translate "something" in the firing mechanism or detection systems. This led to the "booby trap" not being disabled. But to imply they didn't study the hardware/software enough to make errors so big as to tear parts of the ship away, completely lose the fold drive, and drastically miscalculate the size & distance of the area folded when we have firm dialogue that states otherwise is incredibly unlikely. As has been stated, Global had no reason to lie, nor did his engineers have reason to lie to him. The fact that the Macross was able to approach Zentradi ships from every point afterward without the cannon going off proves that they identified the problem & fixed it.
  20. Psst, the ASS-1 is also Protoculture tech. Hell, the Zentradi & all their tech is Protoculture tech. Trump? Protoculture tech is derivative of Vajra tech. ::blows your mind:: Point being, these are all variations on the same family of technology.
  21. Pioneer released the Midsummer's Eve OVA as "Tenchi Movie 2: Daughter of Darkness." Because of that, they renamed Tenchi Muyo in Love 2 "Tenchi Forever" when they released it. It wasn't nearly as good as the first movie, and for that matter, not as good as the Midsummer's Eve OVA. You can still get it pretty cheap bundled with the other two though, Funimation currently holds the license. http://www.rightstuf.com/cgi-bin/catalogmgr/UgxKX=mrYUada3j=6b/browse/item/74087/4/0/0 As for the ending of Ryo-Ohki 3, I'm just not sure what you were expecting. Tokimi ark = Resolved. Light hawk Wings = Resolved. We got super anti-Tenchi, and even resolved the issue's about his mother without deifying her. As for the harem resolution, considering the precedent already sent by the Jurai king (i.e. multiple wives), not sure why you weren't expecting Tenchi to choose all of the girls. At this point, I'm not sure if you'd be satisfied with GXP's ending either which takes this ending to an even funnier extreme. Though it also has a nice Tenchi & co cameo showing how they've settled into their lives after OVA 3.
