    Generally collectors and buyers alike in the cel community disapprove of sellers separating sketches from cels and especially, separating sketches in a set/sequence. Just because it might benefit you does not mean the seller and/or the future owner should bother to separate anything. If you want to own rare art being auctioned, take some advice from a seasoned collector, bid your maximum, if you hope to have a snowball chance of winning. Otherwise you will be one of the masses lamenting how they could have won, if only....

    Exactly. Odds are you were outbid by another internal Rinkya user. Sounds like you are very new to buying so you really need to understand how deputy services like Rinkya operate. Sure you can stay until the very end and keep on bidding but honestly you are just wasting your time because odds are you have a budget. So in my experience, place one bid which is the highest you can afford and let the chips fall where they may.

    Hilariously accurate. @ MacrossManiac There is no way of knowing for certain if Rinkya had artificial internal bidding. Since you are new here, mind telling us more about your experiences using deputy services? How many times have you used Rinkya (successfully and unsuccessfully)? Also, why are you using them? There are affordable alternatives available if you do more research.

    Oh wonderful more asinine anecdotal tales without an ounce of empirical evidence. Please do not be mislead by the grossly misinformed and uneducated. To clarify, vinegar syndrome is NOT curable. There are NO proven methods to stop or reverse the damage caused by vinegar syndrome.

    These were some good old dotcom era flame bidding wars! Some of the dougas were good and from an important sequence, but are they really worth the final price? The only one I think ended at a reasonable price was the solo Hikaru one, all the rest went well over value due to bidding wars. One of the highest priced ones was the Hikaru's helmet reflection, considering the extremely poor condition it was in, it is not worth the final price. The douga for Millia was overpriced and especially Gloval's cel; I watched both, but once it passed certain markers, it was foolish to continue with the asinine bidding war. Congratulations to whomever won these old dougas and cels! :) I truly hope you do your best to protect them from increased deterioration. Japanese collectors are known for not adequately protecting their artwork, so odds are the cel with vinegar syndrome impacted other artwork stored with it. If you won that specific cel, do your best to quarantine it and let us know how things progress. Good luck!

    Cels of DYRL Minmay from that sequence exist. I had one and have seen many of them during the last 30 years for sale. One also sold last year but prices are increasing due to many flippers/scalper sellers.

    How has the release for the series been? I stopped reading since it took too long. Is the reboot going at a faster pace or same sluggish pacing with no end in sight?

    Saw it and wished the plot was not so poorly developed and crammed with too many storylines. Better pacing and writing was sorely needed. Visually the movie was good, that was about it.

    Oh that cel on Asylum of DYRL Minmay... yes it is overpriced. But considering the rarity of the sequence, if you are serious about buying it @JetJockey contact the store and make them a serious offer (don't waste their time if you are low balling). @jvmacross Yes ideally if one were to hunt for a DYRL nude Minmay something similar to the poster image you shared would be ideal. However, I know owners of that cel sequence and there is no way they would even listen to offers as low as 3k.

    Post an actual picture. Without seeing it no one can tell you if 3k is too much for a nude DYRL Minmay cel. These rarely appear for sale so it depends on a lot of factors. Also if you truly want to own a Minmay singing cel, to be frank make a significantly higher maximum bid, otherwise, lower your expectations.

    @jvmacross Agreed. This version of Minmay was Mikimoto-esce but probably was not drawn by him personally. Need to check the episode end credits to be certain. Nevertheless as you commented the other cels in this M7 cel lot would not command anything remotely close to Minmay. I personally prefer his older character designs over this modern style.

    Collectors only own anime cels deliberately. One needs to pay for the privilege to own one. If you want a Macross cel better pay more or collect another series. @jvmacross That cel from Macross 7 episode 11. Reference 6:47. To my knowledge this version of Minmay is not drawn by Mikimoto. Still it is a very nice cel.
