  1. Yes, brand new toy.
  2. That bronze colored plastic is giving me nightmares... I hope they formulated it differently than the last time because the Yamato has gotten SOOoOOO brittle.

    Macross VR

That was neat, thanks for the share.
  4. You win, that's way more plausible than Tatsunoko buying BW... then Bandai could buy the rights from Tatsunoko since they'd be willing to talk... assuming HG's new agreement has a relatively standard industry term.
  5. HG through their history has made a lot of money capitalizing on poorly written contracts (including stuff outside Macross). So, what likely happened is that Tatsunoko and HG made a deal. The deal they made was silent on IP as was the deal Tatsunoko made with BW. The contracts were llike "You have international rights to Macross" but there was an understanding that that meant just the footage. Over the years, HG started pushing boundaries, making trademarks, and kind of squatting on the license. Tatsunoko had no reason to care and neither did BW for a while since Macross was done. As Macross started to revitalize the stuff hit the fan and HG was like "Look, the contract doesn't say we CAN'T do some of this stuff so... we're gonna." Then you get into the cascading lawsuits that clarified the terms of all the contracts.
  6. BW will NEVER be able to deal with Tatsunoko from a position of strength. BW is tiny in comparison to Tatsunoko (which is owned by TakaraTomy). BW's being so small is probably also what allows them to take such principled stances as not dealing with Tatsunoko. It would probably take a third party and a lot of cash to mend the woes there. We discuss BW buying the rights back but the more likely scenario would probably be Tatsunoko buying BW... that would be crazy, then maybe TakaraTomy would make Macross toys. I guess you can't buy a company that refuses to acknowledge you though!
  7. From what I hear, BW refuses to engage in any business with Tatsunoko. So... Not hard for HG to get the rights.
  8. I think the answer is that the 11 is only feasible if you can make two paint schemes or more for it as it's not as popular as the 19 or 21.
  9. It's definitely coming out!
  10. I'm not following your meaning. Are you talking about a green Legioss?
  11. HG should work with Tatsunoko to develop a new anime that they could help fund for the sole purpose of including in Robotech. They should hire Aramaki and some talent to put together a stand alone story that can be shoe horned into the Robotech timeline.
  12. Space can be liberating though, if they made some dedicated space fighters they could have much more unusual shapes. Hmm, I want a transformable A-wing... guess that's not very original though
  13. Sorry, Sentinel doesn't really chat about Mospeada outside of Japan due to the licensing issues. We were mostly just chatting about the toy industry and what's going on. I tried to get some Mospeada details and even what they'd be showing this weekend but it seemed like they have a ton going on so it's all very fluid on their end. Personally, I'd be pretty surprised if the Legioss doesn't go up for PO before the end of August and release before year end.
  14. I cornered a Sentinel employee at SDCC but that's about as close as I could get to WonderFest. I had a lot of Mospeada toys out before I headed out to SDCC and had some fun with them. Now I've moved on to Megazone again.
  15. Old(ish) school
  16. Correct. I hope it helps... the campaign still has a LONG way to go.
  17. The Willy Wonka sequel theory was a fun watch.
  18. Mine still hasn't shipped from NY.
  19. The movie was fun though.
  20. Aren't those the first sketches Aramki did of what became the Legioss?
  21. I'm on the fence. I think it's a beautiful and bold toy but I had to sell Titan class Metroplex because he was too much of a bear to store and I never grabbed Fort Max or Trypticon and figured I'd pass on Omega Supreme which are all in my wheelhouse... I just don't have the space.
  22. I think you guys are forgetting that some of these people are just having fun... And if you're just playing around, it's a lot easier to take stuff that's out there and tinker with it then it is to create something new. It's also more fun when you can share things that people in your community will recognize the inspiration of. Yeah, the pros ripping off stuff for comics is full of fail but the fans having fun or even just being ignorant aren't really hurting anything. It's another sign of HG's failure to feed a hungry audience.
  23. Stands to reason she would right? Looks cool, I kinda wish it was just a Serenity style movie though... Curious how it will work as something with much more length.
  24. I was surprised the boxes also have the old Takatoku texture to them.
  25. At the panel they talked about the comics having time travel, that's how you get Dana on the bridge of the SDF-1.
