  1. What good is your "ride" without some horses under the hood!
  2. Top view with stupid white paint that yellowed some already (three years). I was overseas and could only get some cheap stuff.
  3. The EC-33B was the first one I built. I didn't have the materials to do windows, so I went for decals.
  4. Thank you. You caught me in the middle of posting the rest of the photos. I scratchbuilt them a couple of years ago. Some people asked to see them, so I'm posting them. How's the weather in L.A.? That's originally my hometown area.
  5. Last fanjet view with box shut and from the side. Laser engravers rock!
  6. Here it is with custom case and canopy opened - Yeah I put hinges on those things. The canopy is slightly higher than the original design - only because I didn't have the MPM book yet. The fan blade spins too!
  7. Here's the smallest first, the "base" will tell you the size.
  8. You're absolutely right about the measurements. Miyatake made some design contradictions though. Some of his views for width or length don't match up, so I worked with what I know, the battloids and other nores by Miyatake. The one smallest view is of course, head on during the Daedalus manuever. Miyatake's drawings state the destroids line up 7 abreast in the opening. In the series they show 5 abreast. I took the 7 abreast road (1 foot). Just right for 2 MAC-II's side by side (impossible to put that illusive 3rd one in there by any dimensions). I then took the Imai Macross model and used the Daedalus because the dimension and details are consistent with most drawings and it scaled up perfectly! All of the deck clearances and everything else line up EXCEPT that 488m length (244cm in reality or 8 flippin' feet)! If you take the proper width in 1/200 (about a foot) and add an eight foot length, it's way warped, like SD warped! Six foot is just right with that 1 foot width. For the translations, what I have are LARGE scans, like 1 and 2 Mb!!! If I resize them, you can't read the text. If you don't think anyone cares, I'll post them. Otherwise I don't mind e-mailing you. Just PM me if you want the scans. I'll post my aircraft photos seperate.
  9. I need some details from the Macross Perfect Memory Book Translated so I can finish the blueprints for my 6 foot SLV-111 Daedalus model. My children are old enough now that I can finish this project! I have most of the details drawn, I just don't know what some of them are! The styrene sheets are sitting in the box just waiting to get cut. This week I'm hoping to get the detail parts/sides cut on a laser engraver for accuracy and speed. Any translator suggestions? Any fellow fans out there wanna help out? I do have some details done in Powerpoint from another time and would be happy to share/post what I have for requesters.
  10. I've been out of the threads for a while, but if you're still checking back, here's a good link for 1/100th figures: http://reynaulds.com/preiser/p_1-100_figur...=lngNumericSort If you gotta have macross figures, check out one of these: http://www.internationalhobby.com/ihs/kpit...emCode=AII76531 The little "factories" actually have 1/100th Macross figures in them and AGE equipment included. International Hobby is a great store too. Hope this helps.
  11. Yep, 1/200th scale. All the details I can fit for the size. If I had the space, I'd go 1/72nd scale though.
  12. I used to have the same exact set. Pretty cool if your a hardcore collector. Wow, that was a long time ago... Personally, you may get $20.00 for it. Fewer people are into Super Deformed type kits.
  13. Didn't your mom teach you it's not nice to tease!!! First you show us vintage kits and then a macross credit card too without our names on it)! Not nice! Play fair...
  14. Alright, it's not 1/72 or "big scale," but I'm building a VC-33 "Mom's Kitchen in 1/200th if anyone cares. I'm tying to cast it in multiple copies for my 1/200th Daedalus. It's a whopping 3" long!
  15. Sorry I can't help you. But I'm also trying to collect what I can in 1/200 scale. I'm really big into the 1/200th items to the point of building a Daedalus in that scale. I've even gone as far as scratchbuilding several aircraft myself. What items in the Gashapon series are there? Thanks for your help!!!
  16. As its been said, scaling is not difficult. Start with what you know. As an avid scratchbuilder, I HIGHLY recomend you start with a virtual grid. You can get one out of most drawing software. 1) Cut and paste what things you do know (even if it's a destroid) 2) Make your calcualtions (eyeball it) by dragging out your Oberth. 3) Give your grid panels a size value to convert it to your model size 4) Take the time and DRAW it (trace what you can)out in the views you can't find 5) Make sure it ALL fits together afterward, paper is cheaper than plastic Then work your way with points of referance. I am building a 1/200th scale Daedalus and ALL of the measurements listed were WRONG!!! There are drawings that clearly show destroids side by side and other details that make it MUCH smaller than what others say. If you can only verify a missle size, put it on the grid and scale it! I built the "Tunny VTOL" solely by the views and size of a standard size airline door! That was before I got my "Macross Pefect Memory Book" only to find all of the beautiful views and details I didn't have before. Guess what, I was on the mark! The key is spending a lot of time on your PC or paper.
  17. FYI, this news is probably outdated for the original people in the thread, but Hobby Fan carries most of his line. Wether or not they have it in stock is another thing... Just do a search under "Macross" (imagine that).
  18. I'm building a complete 1/200th scale Daedalus (interior included) and am looking for detailed pictures. I have the "Macross Perfect Memory" book and was wondering if there are any other pictures or referances you guys might have out there. Translations in english would be great too. I've got all my model kits ready to go for it including 1/200 Phalanx's in resin. Whatever advice or direction you may have would be great. Rough dimesions are going to be 6' long, 12" wide, and 12" high.
