  1. I think it speaks for itself, but here's more: http://io9.com/5635272/10-reasons-why-the-spider+man-musical-will-blow-your-damn-mind-to-smithereens
  2. I had (and may still have) the Exo Squad rerelease by Playmates. Unfortunately, I can assure you it can't transform either as it's the exact same mold. Of course a talented and industrious individual could probably customize it to create some sort of transformation ability. Considering how ugly it is, however, the only way to make it even visually comparable to a chunky monkey (let alone the lineart) is to basically replace every part--well, I'm sure you can use the same screws. At least the Matchbox Glaug doesn't look that bad. Even the Regult looks half-decent compared to the VF-1. Nonetheless, I always wanted one when I was little and was so excited when I finally got one.
  3. I remember on one of the Robotech DVD sets they had a presentation video of the Matchbox line. In it, the VF-1 is demonstrated to have both fighter and GERWALK modes. That still has to be one of the ugliest valk toys I've seen. If only Yamato made one in either 1/18th scale or a version that could accommodate 3 3/4" figures, then my inner nine-year-old would truly be happy.
  4. He said this shortly after 9/11. Not too long ago, he gave another interview in which he said a sequel could still happen, IIRC.
  5. We still don't know for sure. Chances are it probably won't have as much content as MUF, though it does appear to be more than just a demo. More than likely it's somewhere in between. There's a thread on it in the games section here: http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=33557&st=0
  6. I don't mean it was too difficult. I meant the game crashed...I think. I've forgotten a lot of it as it's been a while since I've played it. I'm going to have to dig it out now... And I wasn't the one that said they weren't awesome. In the context of the late 90's, they're quite impressive.
  7. Also, Iron Man was an alcoholic in the comics wasn't he? You have talent + relatable experience = awesomeness with RDJ. MJ, on the other hand, wasn't a junkie. I really don't want to see Spider-man save her from a telephone pole.
  8. I'm afraid to say it won't improve it by much. Technically, the HDTV is already upscaling the image as they always scale to their native resolution. It's just that the PS3 may do a better job at it than some displays. Unlike the 360, it doesn't add any visual enhancements like anti-aliasing. It has an optional smooth filter, but that just makes everything blurry. Also, the PS3 will not output 480i via HDMI--just 480p and up. As such, there's the possibility it will output it in progressive scan. The only problem is that I'm not sure if it just deinterlaces the image or if it's purely from the game. Long story short, try to convince yourself it's the 90's, squint your eyes, and pretend the graphics are awesome. BTW, I remember beating the game a while back on a real PSX. I want to say it had trouble towards the end like the emulators, but I can't really remember...
  9. Bill & Ted 3? http://www.aintitcool.com/node/46319 Let's see...Excellent Adventure...Bogus Journey...will they call the next one Radical Quest?
  10. But by the time he directed Fight Club, his only experience wasn't music videos having already done Alien 3. To be fair though Fincher wasn't the main problem with Alien 3, and he had also directed commercials before that--similar to Ridley Scott. I'll still side with Graham though. I'm still neutral on this movie. Christoph Waltz as the Lizard interests me; however, if it's another origin story, I probably won't see it either.
  11. What if you sit REALLY close to the screen too?
  12. Speaking of the YF-23, I recently visited Wright-Patterson and noticed something unusual on the '23 there. It is my understanding that this is PAV-1, yet on the nose gear door it said "Gray Ghost." Was it a second nickname for both or did they use PAV-2's door?
  13. Well at least we could enjoy the openings, eye-catches, and those few well animated episodes in glorious HD!
  14. I'm the same way myself, but this is far too often the exception and not the norm. If I only got enjoyment out of movies in which the actors and director knew their stuff, then I wouldn't be enjoying many movies. Not every action movie is made by Michael Mann. And when it comes to fighting without guns, realism is even more rare. With the Expendables, I'm going in with low expectations in terms of technical accuracy. It is a tribute to the over the top action movies of the 80's and early 90's in which there were many realism problems--the least of which being tactical training. Besides, Randy Couture is in it, so I would think the fight scenes would be decent.
  15. For the more cynical among us, at least if humanity is more spread out across the galaxy, it will take longer to kill each other. And you never know, we could end up uniting as a species to fight against space bugs.
  16. What began as an interesting discussion is now starting to get a little crazy. I wonder how long it'll be until this thread gets locked. Maybe we should start a pool. Like another famous scientist said, "Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence." You do realize that, because you made these claims, the burden of proof lies with you and no one else. And saying Google is your friend is terribly insufficient. Listing those two books is a good start; however, giving actual quotes with page numbers would be more helpful. Would you also mind listing some of these documentaries? You say we need to get the info from other sources. I realize Glenn Beck is nuts (in a generalized, unpolitical manner. These are things he has to work on too.), but what are these other sources? I'm in no way saying you right or wrong--nor I that I agree or disagree. I'm trying to help you (and everyone else in this thread) make a more compelling argument. Why should we discuss matters of science in this thread without any regard for skepticism and critical thinking? This is the foundation of science. Of course I say this, but it will still devolve into politicized arguments involving Hitler and comments about someones mother... So in summery, I think Stephen Hawking makes a good point. Someone needs to build a few Megaroads!
  17. There are a lot of claims and accusations being made all around in this thread (we're already on the edge of politics), but does anyone have any credible sources? You can say anything you want and state it as fact, but how do we know you're not full of it (and I'm not saying anybody here is)? If you're going to make some of these arguments (particularly about energy), you may want to quote some actual data. Just something to think about.
  18. Duke Nukem Forever is STILL going to be developed?! http://www.joystiq.com/2010/08/11/rumor-duke-nukem-forever-being-completed-by-gearbox/
  19. Uh...you mean like this? http://www.megabloks.com/media/playbooks/96824.pdf If you go to the product page, you can find the link next to the gallery.
  20. That's dependent on the card. Many of the newer ones do, but I can't say for sure. You should be able to check on the manufacturer's site though.
  21. One of the reasons I got a Blu-ray burner was to possibly add subtitles to my MF BDs. If only blank BD-Rs weren't so expensive. Maybe someday though...
  22. AFAIK, it hasn't been subbed yet; however, there will probably be a subbed version out shortly after the movie is released. It's only a matter of time. Then you can buy it later on BD or DVD and still understand what's going on.
  23. Well, the picture and sound are still excellent. Besides, if you've already watched a subbed version then you still know what's going on.
  24. Since the TV show BDs didn't have subs, I seriously doubt the movie will. I'm sure a sub group will release an HD version created from the BD though.
