thanks to that pussy Mechamaniac the Mormon our last thread was trashed. but seriously, I heard the news this morning on Stern and was really bummed. Pantera was my favorite band in high school and I even had a Dean guitar like Dimebag from the early eighties. Strangely enough I haven't thought about that guitar in years but had a dream about it last night. Swear to God. He was a guitar legend, and his talent was amazing. I'm just glad I got to see Pantera when I was a little kid. They were the hardest band evaaar.

I'm a hick and I like the Maltese Cross. kind of a subtle nod to white power.. i love the jolly roger logo but probably would not display it on anything because of pirates connotation to "butt pirates". i'm sure thats what people would call me even though i ain't.

I like to play my gameboy SP on the can. and once I dropped my cell phone between my legs, past the unit and down into the toilet. i yanked it out and it still worked. cracked me up everytime one of my friends wanted to use it to make a call.. never transformed a valk on the can tho..

there are some VERY nice moments in this game, I wish there were more outer space missions where you fly around inside the armada. i think space armadas are my favorite thing in the world. the Gundam games for PS2 do this SOO well. battling in space with the huge glowing earth below you.. now THATS what i call a game. but yeah, its mad hard/frustrating and the story would make any macross fan vomit blood.

i salute with my left hand if i want it to feel like someone else it doing it hahaha

so whats the attraction to these figures? do you have to be a fan of the anime to appreciate them? i'm all about diecast toys so please fill me in. right now they just kinda look like barbie dolls..

is ZOE still an RPG game? i've never played any of them but i thought they were turn based or something.

I've heard that too...it locks people's Live accounts or something. It's happening but I don't think people know how they're detecting it. Some people think it is HDD related but that doesn't seem to be the case (I've got a friend with a 120 GB HDD and he hasn't been banned). I chose to get an extra Xbox specifically for modding to avoid crap like this. I just went and got a modded PS2 instead. Everyone talks about how great the Xbox is for emulation, but I've burned myself plenty of PS2 emulators. Besides, there's more good games worth importing for the PS2. PS2 baaaah-looooowwz. i was staring at the skinny PSN last night at my local gamestore, i even had $150 in my bank account. but after pondering for a few minutes i couldn't think of one damn game i'd buy for it. theres nothing i can't live without or get a huge boner for. MGS3? *snooooore* Killzone? i heard its a mess. i got Halo 2.. FF? uh.. no thanks, I got a little game called Fable where you actually swing a sword. and GTA? most of my buddies have gotten rid of theirs cause they don't have the time or patience for it. graphics blow anyways. The Armored Core series does look very tempting and so do the Gundam games which i've played before. i love battling in space. those would be what i'd play on PS2. but unless ones given to me for free i'm gonna pass. I like Katamari too. and what controller is better than the S-controller? none my friends. and whats more fun than XBOX Live? nothing.

dude- i would NOT want to be tearing around on that thing in the middle of the Arizona desert. your just begging to get get stranded on a grey-market POS like that..

Oh, I don't know about that. It probably would have released a lot sooner, and not looked so dated by PC standards. Also, Bungie would have done it right. The mediocre PC version of Halo was mediocre because it was a port handled by some third party. i've read a few more posts from you man, it doesn't even sound like you have an xbox. actually play halo sometime and i think it'll change your mind.

alriiiight.. i picked up my LE copy last night and played: note the is basically an IMPRESSION of the few hours i played last night. you can delve into the game much more than i will and probably debunk most of my opinions, but oh well. soo much crap that came with this game. I loved the big DO NOT SELL UNTIL 11/09/04 sticker on the case, i kept it. you get a slurpee coupon, some story booklet, and the manual is really well done too. first impressions? basically more of the same. Chief does "float" more in this one. the graphic updates? textures on everything. some textures are there just to be there it looks to me. to look updated. same enemies too. you get these annoying fly guys now tho and in the manual theres a pic of these new big ass guys i haven't seen yet. the beginning story seems really cool, some kinda combination of star trek and starship troopers. i've only played up to where you get the Scorpion so the level i'm on has kinda a call of duty feel to it with the urban warefare and your buddies running around with you. the graphics on the levels i've seen are awe inspiring, and staying true with halo tradition GROUND BREAKING. seeing the earth on the bridge of your ship and the armada of ships surrounding it raises the bar on console graphics. crossing the bridge with the scorpion.. you feel like this tiny soldier in a HUGE world, i've never seen such big architecture in a game since the air ship level in panzer dragoon orta. no other system can pull this off. dual weapons is a nice new deadly feature, i also loved being in the low gravity environment on the first level, the sound muffled perfectly, really making you feel like you stepped out into space. the cut scene graphics aren't the best, but better than most. i've noticed a few annoying glitchy things too like textures not loading and suddenly popping up but nonetheless better than most. the only down side for me was the enemies, vehicles and. same 'ol covenant with little it better graphical detail and AI. same vehicles, nothing added. and basically the same weapons with a few upgrades. the bottom line is ITS HALO 2. what i mean by that is its truely a sequel. it lived up to the hype for me so far. little things like being able to back out of the load window in an instant are just more inovations you'd expect. more stuff like the voices of your soldiers sound better, the rag doll physics and the realism of the explosion you get from the cannon on the scorpion are just little things that make you pause for a second. great job bungie. thanks too for the 2 free months of xbox online. i'll be jumping on tonite.

its sad how limited PS2 games are. gamplay over graphics has typically been the case for a lot of PS2 games. with an xbox you get both, awesome gameplay- the S-Controller is the best available and graphics- the best around with gamecube in second place. sorry PS2 owners, you'll have to be satisfied with just your gameplay for awhile until Sony releases a next-gen system on the same plane as xbox.

^^^ i was gonna say all the same things you said Mike to correct that guy. also you can buy Halo today if you've never played it and still think its the best game you've ever played. its that good. the way Bungie designed the game is pure genius, its liquid smooth and doesn't have one flaw that i've ever found except maybe the kinda crappy enemy weapons. and I thought Fable was probably the best and most awe-inspiring RPG i've ever played. but it was also really short. i played san andeas last night and found the graphics to be heart breaking. someone else posted before that if Rockstar spent more money on development and less on voice actors to say "f**k" and "n**ga" every ten seconds it might have looked close to what an xbox game can acheive. and once again the controls are awkward and detached. running around and driving a car feels very sub-par to what other games have acheived in the area of controls. and i find driving around, running people over and stealing cars cool for about 30 minutes. i don't get endless enjoyment from pointless activities that don't go anywhere in a game.
