  1. I got my Kyosho Gunwalker over the weekend and overall I think its pretty cool. I'm glad I payed $38.00 for it, I definetly don't think its worth the $120.00+ it was going for when it was released cause the thing is just kinda gimmicky. The presentation of the kit is great though, the box is gorgeous and theres a booklet that describes all the weapons and stuff that come with it, but its all in Japanese. Overall the kit is beautiful, each piece of armor is painted in matte and theres even really nice panel lines painted on each piece of armor too. The LED on the head is cool and the kit has lots of details like swappable hands. It took me about an hour to assemble the mech, theres lots you have to put together on this guy like his arms and legs. His walking it OK, he looks kinda stiff and it reminds me of a Zoid when he walks around. His stride is adjustable to either long or short which translates to fast or slow pretty much. I bought the Navy Blue version and might customize it with a German theme like a Brocken Labor, I think that'd be cool. I might also buy a Kyosho inner antenna from a Mini-Z kit to hide his antenna if it will work. I sure wish I could buy more plates for him too, the one he comes with is way too small. if I can figure out how to post a video of him walking around I will.
  2. I am looking to customize a 1/64 scale Kyosho Gunwalker that I bought with a German theme. I'd like to buy a sheet of some water-slide decals that have Maltese Crosses and stuff like that. Probably not any swastikas, I'm thinking more like the Brocken Labor in Patlabor. If somebody could point me in the right direction like a website or something that'd be great. I'll post a video of my Gunwalker stomping around on his metal plate, its good fun!
  3. dolphin looks too flat. don't shade the edges of the layer, go in there with the burn tool or air brush and shade the shape of the dolphin.
  4. Right now XBOX is an awesome console for mech games. heres the list: GunGriffon: Allied Strike just got this one and like it a lot. Steel Battalion & Steel Battalion Line of Contact never played but i'm sure its pretty cool Mech Assualt Yager Gun Metal Phantom Crash Robotech: Battlecry some like it and some don't but i had a good time with this title Gun Valkyrie not really a mech game. controls are awkward but still not bad and really cheap. Wheres the sequel Sega? Battle Engine Aquila- never played it, looks interesting Murakumo- never played it but pretty sure its not good Metal Arms- never played it, looks good though = great = good = bad Soon to be released: Mech Assualt 2 Metal Wolf Chaos I've only played Armored Core on the PSX but would really like to play the ones for the PS2. I also really like the Gundam games on PS2 and want to play the new "Encounter in Space" game. right now the PS2 is a great system for mech games too. I need to get one. ZOE looks kewl too.
  5. yeah thats kinda a sucky way to collect, like the comic books that are sealed forever in those graded plastic vaults. Ideally it would be cool to have one minty MIB toy then another loose one to play around with. that way you can curb the urge to rip open the blister pack on the MIB one.
  6. well yeeehaw just make sure she watches those AK rounds.. you guys find any weapons of mass destruction yet? hawhaw
  7. hmm cool. I would say I'm pretty much in it for the nostalgia. I haven't seen the back of a star wars Kenner toy card in years.. that yellow field with all the figures on it really stirred up some ancient ancient feelings from my childhood and living in Tucson, AZ.. man life was grand back then.. going down to the Safeway supermarket and buying a new toy. I always wanted the AT-AT but never got it either...
  8. i knew it.. the new battlestar galactica video game had soo much potential.. but after trying for two weeks to beat the first level i traded it in..
  9. thanks guys, toysrgus.com seems to be a pretty good resource as I suspected. most of the stuff you guys are talking about is covered in there so i guess I know more than I figured!
  10. yes.. MWC looks really kewl. I got Gun Griffon last night. Gameplay is great but graphics.. look like a PS2 game.. sound is really good though, so are the controls. As usual gameplay should rule over graphics so I give it like a 7.5 out of 10. haven't gone online yet but for some reason I'm sure I'll get destroyed. On the "Normal" setting it took me like 45 mins. to beat the first level! steep learning curve on that setting.. ouch.
  11. i did an ebay search for a few of those guys and they don't seem to be fetching exactly Takatoku Macross prices.. I was just curious if there was a few REALLY expensive figures out there. I think the firing Boba is prob. in that tier.. I had a Snaggletooth, cloth Jawa and an Anakin when I was a kid..
  12. Ok.. besides allowing myself to be bashed by TV show episodes by series like The Simpsons I am interested collecting Mattel Star Wars figures. Being 25 years old I had lots and lots of contemporary SW toys when I was a kid but all have dissapeared in garage sales. I'm interested in beginning to collect these toys again but was wondering what some of the "holy grail" items are and what some good internet resources for the subject are. I've been checking out www.toysrgus.com but wanted to know what were some good forums for this stuff and what were some real sought after figures that everybody drools over like a 1990 Bandai.. thanks fer the help. I want an AT-AT.
  13. DROOOOL THEY'RE VARIABLE.. TOYS WILL BE RELEASED I BET... but seriously.. where is Kawamori's sensible military design influence? these mechs are too dramatic. he's gone soft..
  14. yeah the Marui Godzilla looks real cool.. I remember the little plastic Daggot (hehe) figures more than the show it came from when i was a little kid. what the hell show they come from?
  15. why as the pessimism..? just cause the "sex slave" version hasn't been released yet doesn't mean you have to bag on the running robot..
  16. haw haw thats not so much a robot but more of a mechanical dick.
  17. heres a link of just about every robot thing out there: http://www.androidworld.com/prod02.htm
  18. hehe Gunwalkers are selling on ebay for $30.00 cause nobody knows about them.. thats how much i payed for mine.. they were around $120.00 at launch. Coolest robot yet is the Sony QRIO. man i want one...
  19. yes i've seen these too. pretty cool.
  20. yeah yeah I was wondering if there are any COMSUMER products available that are less than $1,000.00 that I don't know about. I think I might have to break down and get a used AIBO off ebay.. and yes, Robosapien is the biggest POS I've ever seen. soo stuupid..
  21. theres some dirty, dirty stuff in those mangas too like the lesbo yacht scene with Kusanagi.. totally filthy. THIS they put into Intron Depot 2. Looked real sexaay.
